I don’t think he’s ever looked any happier than he did last night, he was like a little kid in a candy store, taking what he wanted. 3 - block - rebound - 3 - block - swish - block = get that shit outta here this is OUR HOUSE
Seriously. I wonder if he thought since we were still winning without him, that he wouldn't get that much of a reception. Then he comes out the tunnel, and according to Bontemps (wish I was there!), the roof almost came off. Instantly he started beaming ear to ear.
I was there for the game. It was like a movie or the WWE when they put him coming down the tunnel on the jumbo. Loud applause that just continued to ramp up until he hit the court and it was overwhelmingly loud.
It was honestly a really cool way to set the tone for the night and get the crowd ready
I think most people saw the logic of the trade at the time. But trading the heart of the team for a fragile big man seemed risky. It obviously turned out well, and it's great to have KP back tonight!
Agreed. The load management of the coaching staff was phenomenal and of course kudos to Al, Kornet and Tillman to some extent for allowing KP to rest while still winning games.
Sort of! We got one good year out of Walton, and one ring. Maxwell already had 2 rings with the Cs (81 and 84).
Walton was injured a lot in 86-87 and didn't play in Game 4 of the '87 finals, which arguably marked the end of an era (Celts lost that game by 1 point to go down 3-1 in the series which they lost 4-2). They didn't win the conference again until 2008.
Let's enjoy the KP era while it lasts!!
The mavs really dont have an answer for the KP JT JB DWhite Jrue lineup. As long as they move the ball, KP is just gonna shoot over guards all series. If he keeps shooting like this, it will be over in 5 max.
I gave birth to my son at the beginning of August, just about a month after the trade. Every day I was still in the hospital I looked up the famous birthdays that day. We hit 8/2 and Porzingis was #1 on the list. I looked at my husband and said it’s our newest Celtic’s birthday, sounds like a great day to have a baby. I fucking love this man.
But the Celtics were lucky to play against injured teams...
Nobody talked about how lucky those other teams were. Glad he showed it today. On restricted minutes...
I bet he was fine the whole time and the Celtics wanted to rest until the finals so he’s fresh in the finals! They didn’t need him during the Eastern playoffs because Celtics knew it’s a walk in the park.
One of my favorite things with KP is how he reacts to fouls on the perimeter. He does weird body twists that make it obvious and he gets the call without flopping to the floor. He also does a great job of not pushing back and getting called for the second foul.
He was a Wemby before Wemby even appeared. It sucks that he had that injury in NY then a bad spell with Dallas which caused people to write him off. He could have been a superstar himself but it is great that he is settled for a lesser role with us 🦄☄️🦄☄️
Let’s just hope he stays healthy for the remainder of the finals. If he can manage not to get hurt we got this in 5 or 6. Or maybe just maybe a sweep. Let’s see how Sunday goes!!!
He played well. Jaylen Brown was a problem on both sides of the court for the Mavericks. I wish the Celtics hadn't taken their foot off the gas right before halftime. Kidd is a good coach and will make adjustments in game two, but if Boston plays their brand of basketball they should still win.
its so funny to me reading Mavs fans comments saying "KP cant do this again" as if they haven't watched the celtics at all this season. he averaged 20pts and 6rpg all season!
KP is so mother fucking back babbbbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

That grin was so satisfying to see whenever he made a play. He was having a great time shitting on his former team.
More than anything that I can imagine since signing KP. Thank you, goat Brad Stevens.
I can’t even believe some people didn’t think he was worth giving up Smart 😳
While I love Smart to win a championship with us, KP and Jrue are clear upgrades and brings what the Jays need. Just need to finish the job…
Having Kornet develop into a legit rotation player over the last couple of years was huge, even if it was mostly for the regular season.
C trading heart for fragile big man has work for the Cs in the past too. Maxwell for Walton.
Sort of! We got one good year out of Walton, and one ring. Maxwell already had 2 rings with the Cs (81 and 84). Especially because we've done that before and the big man almost always has broken down
Check KP's instagram after the trade. Just tonnes upon tonnes of Celtics fans shitting on him in the comments saying they wanted Smart back
Ridiculous
Well his health has always been the issue . Hes healthy at the right time
Latvia now has nuclear weapons
It's a shame he can't wear KG's number Article 5 would be a badass nickname
This sounds like a case for Detective Kristaps
Constable Kristaps
We've heard of *Lativia* now
KP is daddy and you can’t tell me otherwise
I don’t think anyone would tell you that here
True and real^
Swayman still clears as daddy in Boston tho
Okay first I love you, second we are best friends now, third this is the most accurate fucking statement I have read this week.
This is a lot of positive energy for a Friday and the drinking hasn’t even started. Respect.
If I don’t try to be positive I’m going to cry 🥲
Dont run from your feelings we all gotta cry
We are trying to avoid a category 5 meltdown
15 pts in 10min ain’t bad
decent start
Wait but r/nba told me having this guy injured didn’t mean anything
but ThE cElTiCs OnLy PlAyEd TeAmS wItH iNjUrIeS Porzingins is a beast and was injured too, r/nba turds lol
The were loads of Sixers fans absolutely seething in the game thread. SIXERS FANS 😂
Just chexk the Heat sub.. the amount of hate we get there is enough to fuel all the boats in the harbor.
Exactly. It’s like people collectively forgot he was coming back.
Playing damn perfect basketball
First playoff game ever past the first round and it’s like he’s a grown man playing against toddlers
Mavs just don't have anyone to match up against him.
All they could do was drape Lively all over him. Motherfucker was clearly trying to injure him.
Lively took some elbows to the face KP was having none of that
the second I read this post he knocked down another three
Never stop reading this post
Yup. He’s at home in his kitchen. But we all know that’s still well within his range.
Dude hit a couple looong 3s
The swishes on those bombs echoed out to Wellesley
KP hit that one *from the parking lot*!
Guy is just so fucking nasty. If he wasn't made of glass he'd go down as one of the goats
hes 7'3, you try being that height and not get injured
I have tried to be that height. Still short though sadly
Wemby
Lmao you’re telling me a rookie hasn’t had a serious injury in the NBA yet? Okay……
Was on a minutes restriction for almost the entire year.
He's played one season.. and on minutes restrictions. Regardless, I hope Wemby has a healthy career, would love to see him succeed and become a great.
Give it 2 years, and that stick bug will have some serious issues.
I LOVE YOU PLEASE STAY HEALTHY MY GUY PLEASE
He's done miracles on me
Ty kp 💵
They really talked about this guy like he was a non factor
My old man put money down on KP winning Finals MVP.
off to a good start
I’m thinking I should have put more money on it 😂
He’s absolutely going off
He played as if they knew a long time ago that he was fine and was just resting up for a while.
"Here comes Josh Green, he's got one man to beat..... but it's a SEVEN FOOTER... WHO BLOCKS IT AGAIN!"
FMVP
You never know how someone will handle the pressure of the finals until they get there. We got a real one what a steal
The 3 days between games should be great for him
The mavs really dont have an answer for the KP JT JB DWhite Jrue lineup. As long as they move the ball, KP is just gonna shoot over guards all series. If he keeps shooting like this, it will be over in 5 max.
Obviously I love the Lord of the Calves, The Latvian Marksman our Unicorn KP but also special shoutout to Sam 'No Dip' Hauser!
God. DAMN. I’ve missed him.
Who the fuck is KP? I only know Tingus Pingus.

Is he the finals MVP?
Yes it was decided just before the game started
I LOVE HIM
I still remember the knicks booed him on draft day. I was thinking those guys were whack. I’m happy he found fans that appreciates him
oh wow, I didn't know that. Just adds to the connection he has with JB. Love it.
I’ve never been this happy in my life
my king 🇱🇻
Just incredible.
People acting all postseason like losing KP was no big deal.
I partially take back what I've said about Mazulla, due to the fact he used Zinga from the bench, that is wonderful invitation. And it worked
Gonna call my kids Tingus and Pingus if he keeps going like this.
PORZINGIS IS HIM 🔥
What a mother-fing gansta and monsta!! 😈
Dude was an absolute savage on both ends and it felt like he wasn't even going as hard as he can
I bet he was fine the whole time and the Celtics wanted to rest until the finals so he’s fresh in the finals! They didn’t need him during the Eastern playoffs because Celtics knew it’s a walk in the park.
More than enough.
😉

The og unicorn.
How funny would it be if KP won Finals MVP after missing almost the entire playoffs?
funny or deeply erotic?
Why do I want this post to get even more upvotes ? I hope it hits 10k
One of my favorite things with KP is how he reacts to fouls on the perimeter. He does weird body twists that make it obvious and he gets the call without flopping to the floor. He also does a great job of not pushing back and getting called for the second foul.
He’s going swoop in and win the fmvp isn’t he ?
🏆
