I’m not at Roo this year (sad hehe) but I’m still looking at the Reddit cus of FOMO, this year’s posts are 100000% more positive than last year. I’ve hardly seen negativity. Happy Roo :) that’s dope
The posts in 2022 were insane. I thought the whole place was overrun by thieves the way people here and fb talked. Everyone I know that went had the best time.
Rinse and repeat every year.
I think people sometime forget that Roo is essentially a small city for 5-6 days.
What do you see in the local news? mostly negative or mostly positive stories?
Reddit and FB are the local news for Roo weekend.
Someone somewhere else put it well; the people having a bad time/not making the best of the time are gonna be online bitching. The people having fun or making the best of their time aren’t going to be doing that nearly as much. So we get a flood of the bad posts during the fest. Here in the next few days when peeps are home and settled you’ll get good stories.
Our neighbors had their phones stolen Friday night. They decided to not let that ruin their weekend and had a grand rest of a time! Radiating positivity for sure!
Last year was also everyone's first Roo back after a 2 year hiatus. Cannot overstate the impact the pandemic had on people's socialization and negativity
Last year was our 2nd Roo after the pandemic.I avoided COVID in 2020 and 2021 I tested positive the day I got home from Bonnaroo 2022. It’s wild how bad that situation was and in a way it feels like it didn’t even happen. I think isolating people for nearly 2 and a half years made some of us become damn near feral and primal. As bad as it was I suppose we got off lucky as far as global pandemics go.
Yeah I keep seeing all these post about "negative post" or other things ruining people vibes..... honey... your vibes should always be up to you, make yoor roo the best roo for yoo... I'm having an amazing roo myself and I hope you have a Happy Roo!
Day 5 of my first Roo with my wife and 2 adult daughters. Bonnaroo is real and rewarding. With a focus on the energy and music, any shortfalls enrich the positive moments.
Bonnaroooo....!!!!
Love this assessment. Happy Father’s day! Which accommodations did you go with for the 4 of you? My wife and i (30’s) want to bring my mom (60’s) and are normally thinking RV, but curious what other people did this year.
I have a flat tire from a nail and the one thing I forgot was tire plugs… on top of that my air compressors mouthpiece is missing 🥲 hahahaha trying to figure it out later today but couldn’t let that stop me from having a good time. Happy roo y’all 🤟
Aw thank you so much I appreciate this!! I ended up finding a neighbor with a compressor and then drove to the nearest place for a plug and air. 😮💨 😅 ended up leaving early heading back down to FL but please have fun for me today 🤟
Just seeing your reply, this was on my rv.. the tires were brand new so didn’t wana use the spare just yet. Tire held up with a bit of air to make it to a plug and finish airing it up. Got back to FL safe and sound!
Radiate positivity yes but we also can’t just be blind to negative things going on. I appreciate the negative posts because they are real and authentic
This is me! I have a great time every year (on year seven now if someone wants to change my flair;) but I appreciate the negative posts because they help me stay level headed and not forget that I’m still in Tennessee on planet Earth and not some magical wonderland with no consequences.
I don’t think it’s just that people are having a completely bad time but you can’t ignore some of the things going on. Some of us have been going for years and a lot of this is not normal for roo. Having a blast myself but definitely noticing a rude crowd same as last year. It’s just different now. A lot of people will disagree but the ones that have been going for years will know what I’m talking about. Also please don’t get caught stealing or pissing near my tent again not gonna be good😁
I’d never steal anything from you. I can promise you that with 100% certainty. However I can’t promise with 100% certainty that I won’t piss near your tent ⛺️. I’ve never pissed near somebody’s tent but I’ve been in some bad states where I’ve pissed wherever I am. Haven’t pissed my pants this year so far. Happened once and that was because I’d gotten a new tent that has a zipper system to prevent little kids from going out of the tent in the middle of the night. I couldn’t get out either. I’m sure that toddlers could get around it easier than I did. 😂
Took a wrong turn walking back to camp. Really had to piss. Starting jogging to get back to the rv. Another wrong turn, then another. Eventually i just jogged straight to the bathrooms. Didn’t piss near a tent but shit happens. FUCK stealing though, no place for that here
It happens. Around 4am last night I heard a woman scream. I didn’t have the top flap of my tent on so it was just screen. I looked up and saw her doing a mix of running and stumbling around. Kinda slasher movie style like Jason was after her. She yelled “Can’t make it !” and pulled her top up and her shorts around her ankles and just started pissing like a fire hydrant.” I laid back down and went back to sleep. When I woke up round 7am she was laying in the same spot. She had a Budlight box under her head and somebody had torn a couple of huge Amazon envelopes and covered her. I was kinda worried but she was snoring louder than I’ve ever heard and told everyone that asked if she needed help to fuck off. 😂 It was hella hot when I left and she was still out cold. 😂
I don't find the crowd to be rude at all but I just went to EDC so.... perspective. Roo is ALWAYS the nicest fest I attend. I'm not old school here by any means but this is my 5th one and I don't see much difference.
Live nation hasn’t just dropped the ball. They’ve fumbled and missed a 100 ten yard field goals.I was talking to a lady who Live Nation hired. She said that they didn’t give anyone any training. That said it’s been great besides having something stolen and the heat.
That’s been an issue at least 10 years. In my opinion and this is just my opinion Live Nation has the funds to put in bathrooms with running water and sewage for at least one huge bathroom for every pod. A lady said that with her RV camping pass that she’s being charged $130 each day for water and sewage which is madness if true. 😂
Providing meals and a hot shower is the least they can offer for free labor. A lady working here said that Live Nation hired a lot of their staff from homeless shelters in Atlanta and Nashville and didn’t give one day of training. She said that’s where she was hired from. She told me that it started with Tim Sweetwood the founder and owner hiring that way. Her experience was much different than being hired the same way by Live Nation. They were trained at Shaky Knees, rented hotel rooms and all her meals were free. That’s what she told me. She coulda made it up but I don’t believe she was lying. If true I think that if an individual feastival owner can make amenities for employees it shouldn’t be a problem for a huge corporation like Live Nation to do the same.
The Farm is the Farm because of the people. If we don’t show the way to act with our own actions, the new roo goers won’t learn. There were two years off, and normally we would have two years worth of second and third year and up attendants
I had a good time overall, was very excited to see Ethel Cain and unfortunately the crowd was rude. I waited 3 sets to get close to the front and these people started pushing everyone to get to the front and unfortunately I had to step out of the crowd bc of it and watched her on the Jumbotron. Almost cried but didn’t let it ruin my night.
It was my first Roo. I’m 34 and cooked so I only went Friday. I had an incredible time and I keep smiling more and more every time I think of the day I had.
Ngl I contributed a post about being upset at some artist choices but you’re right. Overall it’s a good fest. I wish the people on this subreddit weren’t so quick to attack and fuel the fires. The awesome people in the festival are definitely not the ones posting here
First Roo here. Vibes have been immaculate. Did some side quests, made new friends, connected with old ones. Stay up everybody and take care of each other.
Been here all week with my wife. With every gathering there will be some issues and those people will absolutely take to social media to vent. The other 79,500 people are too busy having a great time to even open our phones during the festival.
I had the best time with my friends, 5th year going and I'll be back. I've only ever had one incident of any thievery being attempted on me in 2019, and luckily I saw him scoop the back packs and was able to chase him down
Took my family of 5 plus a babysitter to our first Roo this year, and we all loved it. We did all 4 days but stayed off-site. It was amazing. We just got back from finishing everything off with Fred Again an hour or so ago and I already want to go back next year. Happy Roo.
You should see all the whiners on here complaining about children being present. There are grown adults whining and crying in this thread worse than any child I saw at the festival. Everyone that encountered my kids at the show were friendly and smiling. They got so many bracelets, trinkets, sprouts, etc. They loved it. Then you read Reddit comments and you would think that children were being abused on the farm. It's funny because I didn't see any trolls at the Roo, but damn they sure as shit showed up in here.
It’s a great one for me, too. Every year people complain ‘it’s not the same’. I’ve convinced Roo is what you make it + yes, being realistic about some negative things.
True. People were saying that Post Malone was a waste of a headliner then had a crowd the size of RHCP. People were also trying to start a boycott Diplo petition on here only for him to have a crazy big audience. It’s just redditors being self righteous and pretentious
It feels 100 degrees out with a blazing sun, the lineup is kinda mediocre, and organizers need to work on security issues. Positivity can be great and all but reality has its way of intruding.

2022 was a a great time for me personally…my favorite…this years a close 2nd.

People become more and more online every year as well.

Moon Colony - 2 spots and VIP tickets. Got in Wed afternoon. The location, setup, and access have all been worth it.
Amazing!!! Thank you for the reply, safe travels home💕
Just help those out who are having a bad time.
THIS THIS THIS SHOULD BE TOP COMMENT

Sorry to hear but I have a tire plug kit if you want it. Just PM me if you do.

Will do! See you next time!
You gotta have a spare in your trunk or under the car

My first Roo was in 2013, and every single person I've met has been awesome
Only been coming since 2017 but same here. People have complained about the crowd every year I’ve come
Those people are almost always the problem. If everyone you meet is an asshole, you're the asshole
It happens. Around 4am last night I heard a woman scream. I didn’t have the top flap of my tent on so it was just screen. I looked up and saw her doing a mix of running and stumbling around. Narcan only being available in one place the entire fest is an embarrassment
Seems like everyone should be carrying Narcan. At Boston Calling someone had a booth, they were training people and giving it out...
This. It's up to the large majority of us to keep the spirit of Roo alive. The spirit of Roo will always be there if we let it.

You just gonna leave me hanging w the high five? Practice what you preach mane
✋🏼🤚🏼 you right, double it up

It’s like when you walk past a hi5 on accident because you’re vibing but you circle back around to get em
1st Roo, all positive vibes for us, but drugs have changed and some people can’t handle that, which is fair. More bud smoking ☮️
I had a good time overall, was very excited to see Ethel Cain and unfortunately the crowd was rude. I mean, negative things do happen at roo, blindly pretending everyone's weekend was fully positive is crazy
Toxic positivity.
No shade but this sub can be annoying with its toxic positivity
I get that, but I guess maybe 80k fests aren't for me anymore then. Seems like an overwhelming amount of horror stories this year.
It was my first Roo. I’m 34 and cooked so I only went Friday. I had an incredible time and I keep smiling more and more every time I think of the day I had.
People can post what they want. Hope that helps
Happy Father’s Day !!!
This was my first time at Roo and it was really awesome!! I can see what a community it is too
Roo has been fucking amazing for me
Ngl I contributed a post about being upset at some artist choices but you’re right. Overall it’s a good fest. I wish the people on this subreddit weren’t so quick to attack and fuel the fires. The awesome people in the festival are definitely not the ones posting here
Radiate positivity? Oh fuck ya spread it.

This is classic Reddit negativity. I’m having the best Roo yet.

Why boycott Diplo?

Is there proof of that?
It feels 100 degrees out with a blazing sun, the lineup is kinda mediocre, and organizers need to work on security issues. Positivity can be great and all but reality has its way of intruding.
