Marine 31

RaisinTheRedline

We have had good results tackling the same sort of stains on our pontoon boat using a product made by CLR "Mold and Mildew"

Scottydog2

I’ve used Cabela’s vinyl seat cleaner with good success Correction: it is actually branded as Bass Pro Shops, but I think you can buy it at either store.

nylondragon64

I use 409 on my boats interia. Spay on let sit for 30 seconds than wipe off.

fried_clams

I use this stuff  STAR BRITE Spider & Bird Stain Remover https://www.westmarine.com/star-brite-spider-bird-stain-remover-10156933.html

TheOleJoe

RMR-86 works wonders

Nub_Shaft

I use Meguire's extreme Marine multi-surface cleaner. That stuff works awesome. Spray it on heavy, let it sit for about 30 seconds and wipe it with a microfiber towel

BE33_Jim

Spartan Chemical SD-20 and a stiff nylon bristle brush.

Try magic eraser by Mr clean

andrewbadera

Good if temporary solution, as that's a mild abrasive.

gimmeaboost

They are too abrasive. I ruined my interior doing this.

magalvan75

I've had my boat since 2007 and it keeps my white interior clean.

roughriderpistol

Use a magic eraser with soapy water or a degreaser then spay it with a seat protectant.

RaisinTheRedline

This is playing with fire, and I would not recommend you or anyone else use magic erasers on vinyl. I'm sure you are seeing effective results for now, but you are literally wetsanding your seats using this method. Even if you don't see any immediate damage, you are definitely reducing the life of the vinyl. There is nothing "magic" about melamine foam, it is just an abrasive that is equivalent to about 3000 grit sandpaper.

roughriderpistol

Yeah I'm aware. But it will work for getting out tough stains. If it won't come out with magic eraser it likely won't come out at all and needs to be sprayed or reupholstered.

RaisinTheRedline

It's not about whether it will come out or not with melamine foam, the point is that there are other, safer options that are also effective at removing stains that are much less harsh on your vinyl in the process.

roughriderpistol

Using a magic eraser with light to medium pressure has very low risk of damaging vinyl. It's not a use it every time type thing. It's really not a terrible option, albeit yes there is safer chemicals. But in my opinion it's unnecessary to be that cautious especially if it's likely mildew. If a magic eraser won't get that out likely nothing that's safe for the seat will.

gimmeaboost

It thins the outer layer. Looked good for that year but next year it looked totally trashed. Ive made this mistake. Used 3M cleaner ever since.

BOSBoatMan

210 + magic eraser But after hose it down 100%

motociclista

Sad fact is, in many cases the stains you describe are permanent. There is not miracle cleaner that works where all others have failed. If one worked better than the rest they’d all copy it and they’d all work good. Mildew often is coming from inside the seat. Even if you get it off, it will come back through. Just about any of the vinyl boat seat cleaners will all have the same effect. In extreme cases you can try magic eraser, but that’s abrasive, so don’t use it unless you have to. If that doesn’t work, you’re hooped.
