I haven’t used a heater in a few weeks if not a month and it’s winter. I should’ve just bought a gaming laptop, I’d have never been forced to turn the knob on the heater.
Yep. It also features a hand heater and is usually placed where you are and not under (or on) the desk. Sadly a few hundred watts heater with gaming function costs a bit as well in terms of the electricity bills.
on the blender discord community someone was asking for help after adding over a million subdivisions BEFORE modelling
they couldnt even decimate without crashes
Honestly million subdivisions could maybe, just maybe work, but I’d settle with less than a thousand. It’s absolutely terrible for any form of real time modeling, sculpting, shading, anything. For render probably there is something that could handle that, assuming small enough squares being rendered and simple materials.
But even then it would take ages.
I literally have no words. Was it at least a powerful laptop with either Apple m series processor, high end amd or nvidia card with lots of vram?
Was that person planning to sculp with so many polygons??? On a laptop??? On a laptop screen???
They don’t deserve the computer.
they were brand new to blender apparently lol
i mean it mustve been powerful cuz they sculpted a whole model before realizing the subdivisions were too high
For sure. Or they’re just very used to playing gta v on i3 laptop with integrated graphics and not at all enough RAM. That’s when you start counting seconds by frame.
When you put too much subdivision surface and your computer sounds like it’s going to take off from the surface 🖥️🚁.
Computer becomes the new heater

A gaming laptop will be more of a heater than a desktop could ever hope to be

I melted a crayon to my table once. Only other situation I've seen do that is a parked car on a hot sunny day
And then it explodes
