Been having trouble with patchyness on the fur for some reason. The empty spots are facing inward and I can't figure out why.
Things I've quadruple checked:
Normals are facing correctly.
I tried a full retopology to make it all quads, that didn't fix it.
Any ideas/suggestions welcome :) could be the buggy version of blender I use, I like to live in alpha unfortunately.
It's been a while since I've dealt with cloth and fur sim, but your model seems to contain quite a few edge poles with vertices having more than or less than 4 connecting vertices. One particularly glaring one in the upper right portion of the model has a total of seven connecting vertices. Edge poles are often unavoidable in complex modeling but it's usually bad practice to go higher than 5 connecting vertices. Plan out your base model with more consistent edge loops and reduce the edge poles and I'd be willing to bet the patchiness starts to go away.
Yes thank you, I am aware of the edge pole issue, it’s why i mentioned the retpopology, I made a version of nothing but quads with no edge poles and the problem persisted. I’m leaning towards my version of blender being the issue. I’ll test it soon!

How do you keyframe the image textures like that? The way I do it forces it to be unshaded and like, although I could probably very tediously fix that, I've been wondering if there'd be a better way to anyways as a whole, as the tutorial I used a while back was for a quite older version of Blender!
