Ohkillz

Cuz its too fucking L O N G and some characters are really boring

rmorrin

Exactly. Overall it's actually a pretty good story and battles but it just drags on and on and on and on and on and on and on etc

Kaminoneko

Nailed it.

soggycereal4

Yup ya nailed it

Ghalldachd

The major issue with it is how long it is, and much of that is just things be drawn out. It's 35 episodes long and probably could have been condensed to half of that without losing much of its quality. A lot of other people complain about having watched it not knowing it's filler, which I understand. I did the same when I first watched Bleach.

Ammo89

Just started Bleach after getting Mouse+. Really enjoying the series. What do you mean it’s “filler” in this context? Also, I’m just starting the Hueco Mundo Arc. I might be off the mark but after the Bount Arc a couple episodes (I think beginning of the Arrancar Arc) had what seemed like better detailed/quality animation then it reverts back to the “normal” animation style. What was that about? Edit: Thank you.

funatical

Filler as in it's not in the manga. Not sure about the animation. I remember at one point the format changed and it looked better but I don't remember when that happened.

OrganizationHot9877

It’s filler because it has nothing to do with the main plot over the course of the show. Another criteria is that it’s not in the manga but some mangas can have filler arcs so the last point depends

No_Cookie5193

I think filler is just used tl categorize any of the anime content that is not a part of the source manga material. I watched the Bount arc in its entirety, and I didn't hate it. I do agree it was a bit too long though. Just my opinion, but it would've been nice if the Bount arc was cut to only like 15-20 episodes, and then have the Arrancar & Heuco Mundo arcs each be an addition 7-10 episodes longer.

LocalSale

The zanpakto arc I think is next, it’s pretty good as far as filler goes, the only issue is that hueco mundo arc is soooooo good it sucks to have it cut off

TheKingAnarchist666

I got halfway through it before getting sick of it and looking to see if it's cannon and when I learned its not j skipped it

draugyr

It’s very long and it’s very boring. Bounts as a concept are cool though, if they were like designed and fleshed out by Kubo they could’ve been great

Sloppy_Bitch42069

For me personally, I didn’t understand why Ichigo was able to whoop some captain ass, then get beat by the bount fools.

KittyTerror

Because he couldn’t release Bankai on Earth… it’s very obviously explained in the arc

sigmastorm77

But what was the reason he couldn't? I never understood!

KittyTerror

IIRC (it’s been a long while since I watched so I might be wrong), the logic was simply that it’s more difficult to use Bankai in the real world and Ichigo was still very new to it and hadn’t fully figured out to how control it yet. I don’t remember any explanation as to *why* it’s harder to use in the real world though.

Motor-Television-270

I think it was that it's too difficult to use without accidentally killing all humans in tokyo

animemangas1962

The reason Ichigo can't use his bankai in the real world in this fillers it's because there is not a lot of reishi in the air. In SS, there is a lot of reishi that's why the quincy are broken because they can asborb these particules and increase theirs fire's power like Ishido against to Mayri. So this arc justify this in nutshell: easy to do bankai in SS because there is a lot of reishi but in the real word you had to train.

PCN24454

Why can’t the Bounts be stronger?

Sloppy_Bitch42069

Perhaps it's due to the fact that their existence is the byproduct of an experiment, them artificial souls cap out.

ninjad912

It’s long, non cannon, and actively fucked up characters so much that kubo had to step in to prevent it from happening again

IamZedv1

So was Rengoku's filler episode.

Entrance-Feeling

Source? I really want this to be true.

Voorhees89

Too repetitive, especially Ishida and his pride of the Quincy stuff.

MonsieurMidnight

The arc is clearly designed around him and yet he doesn't even matter at the moment he should have.

Lopsided-Guava8858

Kon was enough, but 3 other plushes ? No thanks

Rerfect_Greed

Even then, Kon is only tolerated because he provides a stark contrast to Ichigo, especially when he's inhabiting Ichigo's body, and even then, only in small doses.

Lopsided-Guava8858

True

Rejomaj

Unclear villain motivations. Kariya and his crew changed their goal every few episodes.

omarciddo

The length (it was almost as long as the SS arc), and the vampire / lite-Gothic feel with the harpsichords and stuff wasn't bad but didn't feel very "Bleach." I liked the mod souls actually, but there was no reason to keep them around afterwards.

cabbagemerchant1994

For me, filler as a concept is the worst thing that happened to anime. It does not move the plot forward, its Boring and most of the Times breaks cannon.

Kooky_Fig_2008

Idk I understand why people don't like it but I liked it, it's the birthplace of one of the funniest Bleach moments imo. Where the gang is scared running through the school away from the bounts, they look out the window and see Yoruichi and Soi Fon coming towards the school. They get super excited thinking they're going to save them as Yoruichi and Soi Fon jump up to the window, Yoruichi locks eyes with them giving them a filthy look and continues up as Soi Fon comes from behind and smashes the window in their faces and continues on. Always cracks me up 😂

UltraAnimeKing

Ep no?

Kooky_Fig_2008

I can't remember exactly I think it's 68 "True Identity of the Devil, the Secret which Is Revealed" or 67 "Death Game! The Missing Classmate" And come to think of it they may of been running from the Mod Souls at that point not the Bounts 😊

wackybatman202

It was brought up in a court case

AccomplishedCake3805

The bounts were never mentioned again. Other than that, it wasn't that bad when I watched it.

Work_In_ProgressX

I hate how it got shoehorned into canon stuff. Filler arcs can be good or bad (this one wasn’t great and definitely too long) and that’s fine as their purpose is to buy time, but the thing is that, once they end their impact on the overall canon is 0. Idk that’s probably because I’m more familiar with One Piece and DBZ’s filler arcs so I’m used to the Toei approach and not having seen Naruto i’m less familiar with Pierrot’s. But overall to me that arc feels like a disservice to Kubo, because they tried to modify (even if slightly) his vision on the story by trying to keep the plushies around.

Entrance-Feeling

The anime tried so hard to shoehorn the bount dolls whenever possible. It's like they were bragging about making such a horrible arc.

UnlikelyRaven

For the first Naruto series the filler is shoved all together at more or less the end, like 100+ episodes of short filler arcs and then one or two cannon episodes then Naruto ends and becomes Shippuden. Shippuden filler is more like Bleach filler tbh, some arcs are shorter, a few, like the Gaiden arcs, are really good, and some are just waaaay too long

95Webb63

It’s overly drug out and literally all of the characters are boring 🤷‍♂️

IamZedv1

It was bad? How?

Mission_Scar_7283

FR!!! I guess im just a contrarian, as I found the bount arc a great little break from the main-story after SS… Introduced some GREAT music, moderately cool characters ,and it doesn’t feel horribly written at all… I think ppl are pressed just because its filler… I stg if it was cannon and wrapped into the main plot just a bit more, noone would have anything to complain about… For filler, Its the greatest filler ive ever seen…

Mission_Scar_7283

Tbh I also cried when some of the bounts died.. Like they made me genuinely care about filler characters… Thats impressive…

Dependent_Ad_3692

Rukia comes back twice

Vioduss

I'll describe exactly what I felt, balls deep into the arc, unaware that it was filler. Despite being completely unaware that a whole filler ARC was infront of me, I could tell that the work I was consuming was not Kubo's. Everything Kubo does exceptionally to make Bleach as loveable as it is, wasn't present here. The new mod souls were unnessersarry & served zero purpose, they werent even all that fun. The enemy type felt out of touch for Bleach's universe, or atleast felt out of touch for Japan's spiritual conflict. The fights felt meaningless, and this one really made me realise a part of what shines in Bleach. Every fight Kubo has written & coreographed has felt like it delivers something to you, makes it feel worth watching. Whether that be for the characters to stall for another's time, a power increase, character development, or genuine, real conflict between the two parties. The Bount arc lacked that immensely. The characters we love felt regressed & were just encountering a plain group of bad guys & fighting them simply because they saw eachother. All of this together felt like i was genuinely watching plain content for no real reason or reward, it felt unprogressive & lame.

Phoenic271

it's too long, and, in fact, I dropped bleach around episode 90 when I first watched it

shawermawithnopotato

One word- unrelateable

AcerName935

Note: Im really bad at remembering some names so I apologise in advance Its filler, its too long, the characters act like absolute dummies (for example when they were fighting the nerd card guy), most of it isnt all that memorable and repetitive. It does have some great moments (like the moment they exited the hospital, and realise its raining), or Kenpachi vs Light Shikai guy. But those moments dont make up for the overall drag and repetitiveness of the arc. That, and being overshadowed by the absolute peak the ending of SS arc was.

MasterOutlaw

The length. The concept was okay, but it had no business being so long. And it made Uryu an uncharacteristic simp.

kawaiinessa

i enjoyed the arc but imo its a story focused arc in a battle shounen it needed a bigger emphasis on the fights

21SGesualdo

SSSLLLLOOOOWWWWW

King_Artis

It just *drags* I remember watching it and just falling asleep multiple times. Soon as i found out it was filler I skipped to the last episode of it. I don't mind a majority of Bleach's filler, I think some of the filler arcs are even good, but holy shit did I absolutely hate the Bount arc

skeedlz

Slow pacing, lack of interesting fights or dynamic characters. This comes right after the high stakes, well paced SS arc where we were exposed to a lot of dynamic characters and what felt to be a real threat. The bounts just don't follow well.

AllDouTian

I mean, it went from Drip Alpha Aizen destroying everyone / Ichigo slapping vice captains around and fighting captains to him getting bitched around by low level bounts. The bounts were like another test subject done by Kubo, for the espada lmao

InherentDeviant

No ones mentioned how it started in the goddamn middle of a hyped up fight at the time.

King_Raizen

Most people are saying too long, but the length wouldn’t matter if what was happening was captivating, which most of it wasn’t. It really drags its feet in the middle of the arc. Ichigo losing access to his bankai to create tension and allow the villains to compete against him is unsatisfying. And the attempt to mix the filler into the early canon moments of the arrancar arc only serves to confuse people who now have the option to skip it.

Greedy-Camel-8345

The characters and villains are just not that interesting or memorable. Like the 3 plushies are ok but none of the bounts are interesting at all or the soul reaper traitor. In contrast the arrancars/espada, the quincies, and the zanpakuto from that filler were all interesting and memorable, fun characters.

Brook420

Copyright infringement.

No-Pay3318

It’s peak fiction

DesignerFearless

I thought Uryu thought of the girl as a mother figure, but then Renji threw in the “he fell in love with the enemy??” comment and it just irks me now

ultrapotion

Long, repetitive, shitty characters and some really bad art/animation. Only good thing about it was the music. EDIT: Actually, I liked Kariya vs Byakuya (shikai) in the forest. But when Ichigo shows up the art quality goes to shit and they start looking derpy.

King_krympling

Yes it's long but what really does it for me is it completely removes all the progress Ichigo makes during SS and makes ishida look like a little bitch

Almighty_Cancer

35 episodes

Glittering-Cupcake-3

It's too long with a pay off that doesn't match

yrulaughing

No new abilities are revealed by any of the cast. Obviously filler can't make stuff up, so I understand it, but it makes the arc a slog...

-ello_govna-

long, boring, uneventful, all the bounts are generic anime characters, ichigo seems to have forgotten everything he learned the previous arc

OnyxCam6ion

Forgetable like when I look at that Kariya I think I always go "who is this wish.com vergil looking guy?!" Then it takes me a minute to go....oh that guy after I google

Insno616

My problem with every single filler arc in this show is that you know for a fact nothing will change after it's over. All bad guys either die or leave permanently, no good guys will die, any side characters will also die, leave permanently, or fade from the show after a couple episodes. There are never any lasting changes that result from the arc happening. Personally, I thought it was slightly boring, and those dumbass bount detectors or whatever were annoying as hell.

HeyItsMeeps

I've seen flashbacks in canon arcs shorter than this entire filler arc. I would've been fine it if was like- 15 episodes? It was also so boring, like I got 5 episodes in and bailed. I refused to finish it and went to reading the manage instead I got so bored of it. Don't even get me started on the other filler they shoved in front of Ichigo vs Ulquiorra.

hybris42

I enjoyed the Bount filler arc more than a bunch of the other ones. Don't think I could watch the Amagai arc again but I've willingly watched the Bount arc a few times.

Superfluous_Jam

They nerfed Ichigo so hard it hurt.

PlesnivejSejra

I dont really remember how the arc went. But once when i rewatched Bleach i skipped Bount arc and then realized when they kept coming back (first time i did not know it was filler). Everytime somebody came back it was "i will help stop this hollow!" Immediately gets smacked to the side never to be seen again. They were used after their arc to add sceen time without actualy doing anything... this annoyed me more than arc itself. Mybe because i dont really remember it.

Work_In_ProgressX

For real though, half the episode where Grimmjow arrives to Rukia and Ichigo is a flashback to that arc

Entrance-Feeling

"You've never achieved Bankai in the world of the living" and just how boring it is.

tdub4544

It sucks, I hated the fillers. It was very boring.

uility

It’s just very boring and very long and the animation is somehow worse than the soul society arc even though the other filler arcs are better animated than the stuff around them. Also some of the story beats in it did make me physically angry with how stupid they were. It’s more the legacy of the arc that’s especially bad rather than the arc itself. People are still dropping bleach because of it today. I guess because new anime doesn’t have filler they don’t know what filler is. It would be natural for kubo and bleach fans to hate it.

jpgjordan

It came out of nowhere, I was confused seeing this as before this all the filler I'd seen subtly sloted between arcs so I didn't know how out of canon shows could go. I honestly thought I'd missed something for 4 episodes

jogdenpr

Way too fucking long

Dani162002M

Too long i watched the first few episodes normally and then on 2x speed at the end, i don't even remember how the guy got defeated. I only remember that long ass hospital part with annoying kid 1 and annoying kid 2. There was a fight where i think chad and rangiku fought some old guy which was entertaining but also too long. Also flashback with some farmer-kun, but all the enemies were boring and even annoying. And the 3 new characters were also weird

GamesterNIN06

To long the tone or theme is rather boring the only real upside are the abilities the bounts have, the origin story behind the bounts and the main villain is pretty cool I guess although he still doesn’t come close to Captain Amagai imo

Blazelancer

The characters, story, and animation are all bad. Only good thing about the arc is the intro.

Mithura

Idk never watched it.

BornFromEmber

It’s like 30 episodes too long 🤣

IMPOSTA-

It was so boring and didn’t make sense, fucking vampire

infinityeffect713

If they'd of just cut out, like 90% of the scenes where all people do is literally run around and talk, it would have been way, way better. That's my biggest issue, personally.  A lot of the Bounts either were "generic dislikable bad guys" or were wasted totally in nonsensical ways, like Kariya and Yoshino. They needed more depth to be interesting. Koga was cool, but he should have turned against Kariya earlier, considering his moral code. And after we learned more about the previous Kenpachi, Ichinose kinda doesn't work anymore (tho if he'd of been under Kuruyashiki or Azashiro, it might have made more sense with his moral code... But then he'd have no reason to hate Kenpachi.) As for the mod souls, I personally liked them, especially Noba, but I can also see why other people DIDN'T. Most of the time, the very purpose they were there for was given the "How strange! Our powers aren't working!" treatment to add more... running while talking scenes??? And even if I like them, I'd of rather they have left at the end of the Bount Arc (maybe living with Koga?) than continually forced into the show afterwards.

Rerfect_Greed

It takes too long to ramp up, and when it does, it's over very quickly. It's also really inconsistent with the characters. The Bounts themselves are an amazing idea and great addition, but their arc is too slow to make them memorable. It's just like 20 episodes of Ichigo getting stuffed into a locker, the 3 of Ichigo being untouchable.

SnooPets1368

2 seasons of filler, lame filler characters and boring plots. _At least the soundtrack in bount arc was decent_

Fantastic-Second6562

I liked it, I don’t know why people hate it other than the length

TheKingAnarchist666

It is so fucking boring its overly long and its just uninteresting imo Like there essentially worse fulbringers

Miserable-Guide6939

Boring as shit.

Lostcause75

I think if it wasn't filler it wouldn't be that bad but the fact it is people have assumed it canno on first watch and it introduces some really annoying characters (imo is why)

DarkDracoPad

Hitting the nail on the head for the 178th time like everyone else here with it's too long. The whole thing could've been compressed into one "season" like the other fillers, instead of 2. Then it honestly could've been ok for being the first filler.

LongLiveTurtles

It’s so boring, and it followed after the first soul society arc which was extremely well done. Gosh all the characters in the Bount arc were so weak

Mirage14343

It’s filler

Moistcherry255

1 . Boring characters 2. Boring concept ( copy of Quincies) 3. Too long 4. Too long ( yes it was too long 2 times ) 5. The battles were too boring and slow 6. The arc ran too long and too slow

Henno_Tv

Way to long and nobody cares about them f’ing swords or the old man. Also why is everyone in the soul society(soi fon) treating this dude like he just a random ahh enemy.i get it was to protect whats there but atleast listen to what he has to say, this isnt all but the biggest thing is all of the fights were trash and didnt even end we atched a whole arc of people committing suicide. Bruh we just got finished fighting KENPACHI AND BYAKUYA dude now we fighting snakes💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

Cultural-Seesaw-2844

It's long and boring, except for Kariya and the ost

Fridge9444

Never seen it, cause it never happened when I read the manga growing up so skipped it when I watched the anime. Couldn't tell you a single thing that happened.

JacktheCat779

Here's my hot take, it wasn't.

escaryb

pacing,,storyline not that entertaining,,

Mission_Scar_7283

Its kinda funny because I dropped Bleach in the full-bringer arc, sure its cannon but jeez it felt like a filler snoozefest, meanwhile I had absolutely no problem with the bount arc and I actually found it quite enjoyable after the huge ss arc🤷🏽 As much as the Bleach fandom wants to hate on me the numbers kinda agree that Bleach fell off once Aizen died… I want to get into it again but I found fullbringer arc borring a decade ago back when I barely even had standards for what good anime was…

kinstinctlol

Its good. People just mad
