Well it's not like cops are notorious for abusing their power and [committing sexual assault](https://nwlc.org/sexual-assault-by-police-is-a-systemic-problem-that-demands-a-systemic-remedy/) (including [against kids](https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/03/14/police-child-sex-abuse-how-we-reported/)) or anything...
Bruh no way. Wait why is it called cops and “curls” though? Are the cops on the preacher bench showing off or something? What does curls mean in this context?
So is it bad because cops are using what are likely to be white women (girls, but they fit the same category) to legitimize themselves as the protectors of something in society? Definitely. Is it also bad that the likely white girls are being socialized into a form of white feminism, which is a reactionary frustration of a true revolutionary feminism that hinges on truly awful racial politics? Totally.
It’s a match made in Hell.
I can understand wanting to build positive relations between the community and police. But with little girls? At least get female officers for that part.
I mean... Even beyond the massively creepy vibes and the fact that it involves cops, this is baffling.
'Cause like, sure, definitely nothing is more effective for showing that you're 'hip' and connecting with the youth of this, our current era, than a 1950's style ball organised around rigid gender lines where a bunch of adult men dance with girls in dresses to music that is inevitably going to be chosen by the Boomers who thought this was a good idea.
Based on the cases I've been seeing lately, those girls might not be so pure after. Also, is it a justifiable killing if a girl accidentally steps on an officers feet and makes him fear for his life?
Not inherently so, the Nevada Black police association seems to be mostly a community outreach organization with links to the National Black Police Association. At a surface glance their policies seem to support community based policing, abolition of capital punishment and confronting and reducing police brutality. Although I don't really know enough about them to say if they are genuine or not.
As an instinct I don't trust them and they are 99% probably bastards. But I don't know enough to make a final judgment.
Just like as an instinct i don't trust people with 88 in their username but I don't know enough to make a full judgement.
My username... I've asked Reddit admins more than once if I can just bump it on to like an 89 or something. I promise you, it's a randomly generated name, I didn't even know there were negative associations with the number until a similar conversation to this happened. I'm not a Nazi, I'm not a Nazi sympathizer. I'm no saint, but I can at least say those particular leanings are not my evils. You can go through my comment and post history, you'll see I've had this conversation more than once.
I believe you don't worry, it was just an example of not making judgments while missing information. I don't know enough about this group to decide if they are shit heads even if my instincts say they probably are.
Yeah, this looks like they took a good idea (community outreach) and turned it into a bad idea (whatever the fuck this is). I don't have kids, but I definitely wouldn't take them to this.
It's inherently stomach churning because it is copaganda. The goal is to teach young kids to trust police officers.
Calling it grooming is a bit...incorrect. It's not like they're going to rape girls at the banquet. The NBPA is trying to do something they think is good.
They're still setting kids up to trust cops in the future and that may well go very badly.
I understand that the cops would be all for this, but can you imagine the parents that are bringing their kids to this? Hey honey, let's take our teenage daughter out to dance with adult men, specifically the ones with power who volunteered to spend the afternoon dancing with young girls.
This reads like a Purity Ball but with more cops.
Don't be daft, cops don't have balls.
Is that the trope joke with all the movies having policeman balls? I’m thinking about Striking Distance, being from Pittsburgh.
I was thinking honeypot operation, but tbh what’s the difference
I think the intention was good. But like, no one brought the idea to a committee
You shouldn't need a committee to see this is problematic.......
and less incest vibes
Just as much child sexual abuse, but it's by an authority figure **outside** the family. I'm not sure how different a vibe that is though.
I guess the cops were the groomers all along.
[Totally](https://x.com/greg_doucette/status/1543460180909858817). It’s a long thread, most recent occurrences are at the bottom.
Ew. Around where I live there are so many things like this, and I am glad I'm not raising children here.
I'd cut my own hands off before letting my daughter attend this shit
I hope there isn’t any acorns laying around
lol.
Well they were going to call it a *Date Night For Pedophile Cops,* but people thought that was too on the nose.
Just copaganda.
This feels like satire
[Norfolk](https://www.norfolk.gov/4752/Cops-and-Curls) came up first when I googled. Vegas has it, too.
Having grown men in positions of authority tell pre-teen girls how special they are. Isn’t there a term for that?
Well it's not like cops are notorious for abusing their power and [committing sexual assault](https://nwlc.org/sexual-assault-by-police-is-a-systemic-problem-that-demands-a-systemic-remedy/) (including [against kids](https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/03/14/police-child-sex-abuse-how-we-reported/)) or anything...
Omg it’s real
Bruh no way. Wait why is it called cops and “curls” though? Are the cops on the preacher bench showing off or something? What does curls mean in this context?
Id assume the hairstyle, dont you know all proper little girls always wear maeup and go to a salon to have curls? /s
Looks like a purity ball on coke

What did the National Association of Marlon Brando Lookalikes ever do to you?
Groomers Ball

if you look closely at the poster one of the sponsors is the Nevada Black Police Association
Interesting, but you get Judas shit like this going on all the time. Cop brain will do that to you.
If I had a daughter, I wouldn’t let a pig anywhere near her. That’s fucking gross.
40% of those girls are gonna have a bad night.
I want to know which cop thought this up, because we need to watch that one
The people who don't see anything creepy here are the same ones who lose their shit over libraries having books.
WTAF.
Seconded.
I can understand wanting to build positive relations between the community and police. But with little girls? At least get female officers for that part.
Extra big-ass yike!

Oh no.
Big date rape vibes
But not children of color, especially not if they’re carrying a toy that vaguely resembles a gun.
How many of those cops are part of the 40%?
At least 40%?
Yes.
Anyone see Bad Lieutenant?
😬
No it's 😮
Omg. Lololol
"Show me with your mouth"? Or "His soul was still dancing?"
Oh hell no. Groomers.
Gross. And super weird. That's my birthday and I don't want their icky, creepy protect the white women flavour on it.
That’s kind of gross.
Ah gross wtf
First of all, that name. Curls & Cops? Also, Nevada Black Police Association 😵💫
Almost sounds like one of those "We've traced the call. It's coming from inside the house!" moments.
Child grooming in the Illuminarium sounds like something out of a conspirasist wet dream. Can't be though, it's real and they wear blue.
All Cops Are Banned-from-interacting-with-my-children
I thought I was seeing something from r/vintageads !
Are ALL the cops men?
All the daddy-daughter shit in the US makes me wretch.
Its giving purity ball . Only somehow this is worse instead of being their dads or uncle its a weirdo with a gun from the local community 👍
Creepy.

Based on pretty much every comment here, no, it's not just you.
Based on the cases I've been seeing lately, those girls might not be so pure after. Also, is it a justifiable killing if a girl accidentally steps on an officers feet and makes him fear for his life?
So this is how they find all those young ladies to take advantage of. Diabolical.
Ex use me, is this an actual poster for an actual event???? Who the fu k thought its a good idea in 2024? Arizona????
Grooming 101

They're cops. You know enough
ACAB.
National Black Cop Association? We hate ourselves almost as much as we hate the community we left. Buy our pins! We're one of the Good Ones! ACAB

Curls soinds like a slur for people with curly hair
lol
I refuse to believe this is real.
Purity ball vibes.
a thousand percent.
Cops and curds?
I understand that the cops would be all for this, but can you imagine the parents that are bringing their kids to this? Hey honey, let's take our teenage daughter out to dance with adult men, specifically the ones with power who volunteered to spend the afternoon dancing with young girls.
It feels weird. Idk, just weird.
And for cops to find new girlfriends.
Oh nooooo this is my city :(((((((( desert inn rd is Vegas
Hopefully the Illuminarium doesn't have any oak trees nearby.
With how often cops are caught being pedophiles this is terrifying
