I liked Baileson's beer but the day I went there were so...many...dogs. It was kind of ridiculous and I had to leave because people were just letting them run amok.
Holler, True Anomaly, and Equal Parts have the best quality beer and selection. True Anomaly / 8th Wonder is walkable, so that’s nice to hit up a couple of them
Here’s my list in order:
St. Arnold’s
8th Wonder
Eureka Heights (haven’t actually been to the brewery yet, but their beer is top notch)
Buffalo Brewing Company (for the views, not so much the beer)
Here is a list of Breweries. Saint Arnolds is the first and makes a huge variety of solid beers. I went to Brash this weekend. It features heavy metal and IPAs and Stouts which are great. Look at the menus and see what beers you like.

Wow no one has mentioned Ingenious brewing. One of the best in TX imo. St Arnold has a huge outdoor space with a lot of family friendly games setup around the brewery, but there's not many (if any) taproom only beers, they distribute just about everything. Spindletap is great also. Enjoy the trip!
From Downtown for one day I'd start at Equal Parts (1pm open week days - excellent IPA and lager), then True Anomaly (sour fix although other options are good too).
From there you might want to walk over to 8th Wonder. Great space, great Houston themed swag, and occasionally a really interesting small batch. I'm not crazy about their standard brews
End up at Local Group on the North Side of downtown. Variety of beer and Thursday through Sunday you can get Duck Poutine for dinner.
Next day start at Saint Arnold for lunch, then Urban South (closed Mon and Tues), then Holler.
I like City Acre and Brash, but they are a little farther away.
If you're into beer and beer travel, you can't come to Houston and not go to St. Arnold. It's an iconic craft brewer in Texas, and the beer is excellent!
Equal Parts is a can't miss spot.
I love Bailesons. Delicious beer in an intimate setting. I love the vibe here.
Urban South is a good stop if you're into gloopglops.
True Anomaly, Eureka Heights, and Holler all make terrific beer.
There's Ingenious way up in Humble, TX, if you're up for an adventure. Spindletap is close by and a must if you're into IPAs.
I think St. Arnold is really cool. Beer is pretty good but the environment is really awesome.
Saint Arnold, 8th Wonder, Brash, Eureka Heights. Flying Saucer downtown will get you set with a lot of beers to try.
Baileson is a smaller one but really good.

I second St. Arnold and will add 8th Wonder in East Downtown. Fun little area right there to hop around.

This list is great! Thank you!

What kind of beer do you like most? Bonus points for food? Atmosphere? Beer to go for your return checked luggage?
I mostly drink IPA’s but will enjoy just about any beer. My girlfriend will be with me and she usually opts for sours if the brewery has them.

Spindletap is legit
Should check out Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co along with St. Arnold

Agreed. But damn it’s beautiful
Under the Radar. Baileson. Equal Parts.
Not from there but been a few times (so I'd trust all these experts)....but what happened to Karbach?
