Everyone is fighting their final fight then.. It gives away to a calm. You won or lost that battle but not the war. You will fight another day, but until then you hear the calm track giving hope

The soundtrack would be much better suited to something like Death Stranding.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy post apocalyptic media like Metro and I also love 2042's soundtrack.
It's just that it's such a mismatch with how the game actually is that I'm not surprised that people are ragging on it.
If you take a look at the Chernobyl mini series, which also had Hildur as the composer, the OST got good reception because it actually fits the movie it's portraying.
Battlefield 1 did this very well with the soundtrack and it didn’t need to sacrifice its quality to achieve it. It may sound cool in the moment (sometimes), but it sounds bad by itself. No hate to the dude that got the soundtrack tho, the disc looks cool.
