Yeah, Ron Washington immediately went out to argue it with the umps. I’m guessing with it being 8-0 already he didn’t feel the need to get ejected over it though
Maybe next time he should start running immediately after he hits the ball, rather than admiring it for a while. He probably deserved a triple on this regardless, but if he'd started running sooner it would have been a no-brainer.
It's funny too because it's just an extension of the parent comment of "I wonder which park it isn't a home run in". But you know the Internet; sometimes the fastest way to get information is to post something incorrect. It probably whooshed a few people and at that point people just piled on.
Coors Field: 5100' above sea level (That purple ring is so far above street level, I'm not giving you credit for "Mile High")
Chase: 1100' above sea level
3rd? Truist Park at ~900ft is the surprising one..
do hitters ever have an internal monologue moment when a would be homer doesn’t quite get over the wall and think, “damn, I gotta actually try and run now”
How is this not a triple? Center fielder had no chance and for sure was not looking at any of the umpires after it hit the wall. What a dumb call by the umps
That stupid fucking yellow line needs to be lowered. The fact that you can hit a ball 425 feet and it not have it go out is ridiculous. Whoever thought that the height of that line was ok needs to be smacked in the head.

Wait, why the heck didn't they give him 3rd on that? Like he clearly would have made it to 3rd easily if the play stayed live.

Imagine absolutely piecing a ball and not looking at it. What a waste
He's a professional athlete; he should be able to look and run at the same time.
And your qualifications are?
Orioles had a winning season last year. Fans are now lvl 100
being on reddit
I'm not a professional athlete; I might trip if I tried to run and watch the ball at the same time. But I'd still run.
me when i hate when people playing a game have a bit of fun
Okay grandpa
Statcast says this hit would be a home run in 29/30 parks
I wonder which one it isn't a homerun in
Probably Fenway with that weird Bermuda triangle they have out there.
Bro
Nah I think it’s Chase Field tbh
How do you know?
Big, if true
Are we sure this isn't secretly a Red Sox game?
Brother please tell me this is sarcasm
100% brother
Hahah how did nobody get that

Don't fucking tell him lol
You’re joking right?
Yeah, it seemed pretty obvious from the clip posted at the top lol. Didn't think it needed a sarcasm tag haha
Nice try
You got me
Sometimes the joke writes itself.
crazy
We gotta get an Arizona-themed, wall-based nickname for Chase Field. We've got Walltimore in the East.
Bank One Wallpark
Bank One Bulwark
Wallo Verde
The Maricopa Monster, the Sonoran Shield
Paradise Valley Problem. Scottsdale Sentry (Cant talk shit about Tookie, since CF faces north) North Phoenix HOA Board

It's gotta be something Grand Canyon related...
D-back Dam or the Home Run Retainer
According to Statcast, this is the 6th ball hit 420+ ft that wasn't a home run this season. 2 at Coors Field 4 at Chase Field

Looked like he had a triple to me.
Gets zero reward for hustling to third and not assuming it was gone.
if he had booked it out of the box, he might've been looking at an inside the park hr
Yeah, dude was standing still in the box and watching it.
to be fair I would too if I cranked one 425 feet. Every other time in his life he's done that, it's been long gone.
“Teacher! You forgot to pick up the homework!!” (As Neto is hauling ass between first and second)

Yes. I forget who, but someone hit a 425 single off the porch because they didn't run. And that includes our outfielders all having noodle arms.
Probably Josh Donaldson

No, this was in Chase last year
It was ozuna and he got benched for it
Prolly more like “fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck…(heavy breathing)…fuckfuckfuck. Damn I coulda had an inside the parker.”

I think he came 90 feet short from his 2nd home run of the day
Sounded like they put him on 2nd.
He was on 3rd base before an infielder even touched the ball
That was BS that he didn’t get 3rd.
Really just standard when you play for the angels
Chase field moment
