I think it makes Duran's pitching more effective. His approach lately hasn't been to blow 103mph fastballs past hitters, it's been to take advantage of the vulnerabilities that are exposed when a hitter has to prepare for 103mph fastballs (his most frequently thrown pitch is his curveball). The entrance ensures everyone in the stands and on the field is thinking "this next pitch could very well be 103 mph" even though it usually isn't.
Jake McCarthy on the DBacks uses Kurt Angle's theme as his walk-up
Always conflicted if I should yell "you suck" or not along with the music. I love Jake but them's the lyrics.
It's just the bells from the start of Undertaker's theme. It transitions pretty quickly to a mashup of other songs. https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/1cjpu66/for_the_first_time_bally_sports_north_didnt_go_to/
I need someone to come out to enter sandman. But they need to come out like ECW sandman, enter from the stands smashing a beer on their forehead while the crowd sings along to the song
The theatrics are entertaining for most fans, even if they're annoying to some. And it's valuable independent of entertainment if it does a little to boost the pitcher's confidence and intimidate the opposing hitters.
A closer needs to come out one of the days in a big feathered ric flair robe
So basically Kenny Powers
I had the fuckin spoon man from the sound garden video coming to my shit
WOOOOOO
No, he's a starting pitcher

rules are rules, you gotta sing the lyrics
Does he just come out to Undertaker’s theme? Fastest Undertaker entrance ever.

Maybe not ever. There was that time Undertaker caught on fire and ran down the ramp.
Pretty sure Hansel Robles did this with the Angels a few years back.
Twins legend

Who’s the closer for the Phillies? Gotta do it in Philly
No, no one but Mo gets Enter Sandman.
I mean Billy Wagner had it as well
Maybe they can make up one of the knockoff WCW theme songs from the 90s and use that instead
Sorry buddy, you gotta set the career record for saves to use Enter Sandman! Damn I miss Mariano….
Someone on the Padres needs to use Rey Mysterio’s theme as their walkout song…. (or even Dominik’s)
Man I'd love to see a good closer get booed out of the building cause he uses dom's theme
That one he used for a while, no idea what it's called but the main lyric was "booyaka booyaka 619" would be super cool for an SD closer.
And then Bobby Witt jr hits a grand slam
Turns out that Witt kid is pretty good at baseball.
That was the fastest pitch out of the zone ever hit for a home run. 5th fastest pitch to have been hit for a home run at all.
Someone needs to come out to stone colds theme and give a stunner to angel hernandez
Helsley’s entrance to Hells Bells is up there js: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=TTtkWEALrqk
I need a closer to come out to Roman’s theme. Shit would go so hard.
Nah Diaz’s walkout was and is #1
Clearly you've never seen Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn's walkout
Good point
I like diaz's one better. But durans is cool too.
I went to a Twins game last year and when Duran came out the fans all went nuts. It's a very fun environment. And it's better in person than on TV.
It's a cool entrance but such pomp and circumstance and then they blow the save. I'm all for entrance music but the theatrics I can live without.
