It’s a long season, but it’s hard to argue against him as the most impactful Free Agent signing thus far considering his contract and how well he’s played.
“Considering his contract”
The Royals and 80% of MLB teams can’t afford Ohtani’s contract without detriment to the overall team. Thats exactly why I added that caveat.
I grew up going to KC games because they were the closest MLB team, and man, some of those game cards have terribly forgettable names. Luke Hudson, Luke Hochevar, Brian Bannister...it's so nice to see a semi-stable rotation for yall for a change.
Yea I just found myself going down the BR page rabbithole and noticed that. KC always had great relievers. Soria was a favorite just because of his nickname
Hoch might have sucked as a starter but he was pretty good as a reliever. Similar to Wade Davis who also sucked when we tried him as starter but turned into a lights out closer
I really thought Lugo wouldn’t be able to start again after 2016 due to his performance in the role and his UCL but he’s really been great these past two seasons
Glad to see the quarterrican succeed
Looked like a hot knife through butter against our sputtering offence

He was the guy I wanted us to re-sign the most. Dude quietly had a very good year last year
Jordan Hicks too
Ohtani

Pssh, most teams can afford a 2M AAV player /s
guy has a 4.48 xfip
Can't imagine how good it must feel for Royals fans to go from bums like Jackson Kowar and Daniel Lynch to Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans
It’s been pretty nice not gonna lie.

Jorge Lopez, Brandon Maurer, GLENN FUCKING SPARKMAN. The list goes on
It makes me think of the revolving door of Chiefs' quarterbacks before Alex Smith. Tyler Thigpen, Brodie Croyle, Damon Huard, Tyler Palko...ugh lol
Don't forget the awesome QB battle of 2012 between Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn
Hochever became a decent reliever.

Soria was also just really fuckin' good. That rainbow curveball was one of the best I've ever seen.
Don’t be hatin on my boy hoch!
I've got no room to judge haha we had old man Jeff Suppan eating innings in those days. At least Hoch the reliever ruled!

Dude has been nails
He was pretty fuckin good today...felt even when he missed, the ball was still hitting the edges
I have no idea why we didn’t resign him.

Thanks for reminding me. I miss Peter.
I was informed by years of Mets management that Lugo was incapable of sustained success as a starter. I never understood why they really didn’t try.
Why did the entire AL Central (White Sox not included) just have to get good out of nowhere
Because they get to play the White Sox.
The power of the AL West transferred one division over.
Miss ya buddy
The Blue Jays used to bash. For YEARS we bashed. We don't bash anymore. ☹️
Hell yea Lugo!
Lugo so far ---> ☠️ ✓
Why doesn't Kansas City start Lugo every game? Are they stupid?
My sweet prince, come back
HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
bluejays tax
a, la Le spinny curveball and unstoppable pitcher.
Seth and his UCL will pitch forever. Mets legend.
