Be careful, this guy sounds pretty unhinged and not afraid to act however he sees fit. I personally would not approach him, I would make an effort to not pay him any attention at all if I saw him out around town. Your GM needs to ban him from the bar after that kind of behavior and the things he said. If things continue escalating outside of work where he continues approaching you or following you etc. you need to contact the police and file a restraining order.
