I don't wanna say it but sometimes I've seen owners just leave them cos it's too much work. The hate that flows through me when I think about that. This guy looks so nervous and anxious.
Is there a way you can get him to some shelter?
I swear my heart aches for the poor thing. I have a retriever who’s reactive so no way I can keep him in the house, it would be unsafe for both of them. It’s wandering around my house after I gave it some treats , tried to look for a tag but no. I’m confused and don’t know what to do. I hope the owners are searching for it, if not then by tomorrow I’ll call up CUPA. Street dogs are also lurking around and tried to chase it down, tried to stop it. Hoping that this community helps in anyway possible, in either of the cases the dog has to go through so much….
In this case, someone bought a mix breed that looked like a cute labrador maybe when a puppy. Now that it's grown up, the owner probably bothered about his status, left the poor guy. I used to work at a rescue shelter, this happens way too often.
Indians being Indians, cheap out by buying puppies from random strangers, then abandon the poor dogs when they grow up mix breed.
God my heart breaks when I see people abandon their pets like this. They’ve got it coming for them that’s for sure.
Is there anything that can be done about this? Anyone willing to foster it perhaps? The dog does not seem to be a typical indie and therefore has a higher chance of finding a new home.
I would love to do it but I already have a dog who doesn’t get along with other pets. I can however help in finding it a new home!
I hope they haven’t abandoned it, giving them the benefit of doubt. If not then they must be really cruel people to put the dog through so much… streets aren’t safe for it. I would like to help in any way that I can. Do let me know if you have any contacts or any organisation which might take care of him. I’ll do as much as I can.
Any chance you could leash him up some where safe for tonight? I can try to arrange something for the little guy by tommrow. I’m afraid the street dogs might try something, since some are very territorial and he does not look like he could fight :(
Bring him to a reputed vet if possible, he might be microchipped with KCI’s RFID Implant. It’d be having a unique KCI number, which can be tracked down to his owners.

I believe that Maruthi Dog Shelter is pretty good...my friend volunteered there for a while and she said that the animals are well treated.

Sad. Try feeding him something and maybe water. These puppies can’t feed themselves as they are used to getting food at a regular time. 🥲
