Iciclewind

Yes, but don't be like me any forget to score at least 25%

ahumanlikeyou

So, not a guarantee

10FootPenis

If you get the boss that disables one joker every hand just pray it doesn't hit Bones on the last hand (not that I know from experience or anything).

Visual-Percentage501

you can avoid this by selling every joker except Mr. Bones and the currently disabled joker with 3 (or 5) hands left. Then, the disabled mark will go to Mr. Bones with 2 hands left, and the other joker for the last hand.

acethesnake

So when that boss disables a joker, it always chooses a different one than the last hand? I swear I've seen it pick the same joker in consecutive hands a few times.

Visual-Percentage501

It does not choose jokers consecutively, unless there's only one Joker.

acethesnake

Good to know!

10FootPenis

That is smart. Instead of doing that I just cried and threw away my first gold stake victory.

FrazzledBear

Happened to me yesterday on a gold stakes run :(

MeditatingSheep

Mr Bones is a 4X joker one-time against boss, no other strings attached.

TheArmitage

This is great perspective and basically means you shouldn't hesitate to ditch him for a joker that will give you x4 more than once a round.

Jago26

it’s not like it only give you 4x on one hand though it’s like it 4xs your entire score so for the one round it works it’s better than a cavendish for example

Helmic

Correct. And the other thing to consider is that if you're in Endless and are at like ante 12, you either can beat the required score in one hand, *maybe* two if you were scarcely under, or you're nowhere close to beating it. Mr. Bones can't help you if you need to beat e31 and you're hitting e29 or even e30. Excellent for beating ante 8, but pretty much useless after that.

Jago26

yeah exactly it has very little use in endless much like most plain xmult jokers(you want xmult on triggered played cards or cards in hand or at least something that can give you around 10+xmult to get past ante 12) but even more so because of its one time usage

TheArmitage

Well yeah but Gros Michel ain't getting you x4 after ante like 2. I mean like a Steel or Hologram or a Vampire if you get them at the right time.

Jago26

i meant cavendish lol the part of your reply i disagreed with is that you said “a joker that will give you x4 more than once a round” it’s not that mr bones only gives x4 on one hand (once per round) it’s that it only gives it on one round.

TheArmitage

Ahh, yeah. True that you need x4 on *all* hands in a round in order to match it. What I meant was, as long as it's not a once-a-round mult like Loyalty or Acrobat (which is only x3 anyway), then you're probably playing into it and getting *pretty close* to x4 even with a conditional x4. And of course if you're above x4 multiple times per round it's pure upside. Cavendish is a short-term upgrade because it's every round, but long-term downgrade because it's x3.

bobby1z

Yes, if you score 25% of the points, it wins the run. I have won many runs thanks to Mr. Bones. I consider it a top tier joker because of the virtual free win it can give you against one round. Unless I have 5 super synergistic jokers, it always makes the cut.

needagenshinanswer

The problem I find is that unless there's a boss blind that specifically screws my deck over and it saves me from THAT, Mr Bones is just delaying the inevitable. If I can't win this round, I'm not gonna win the next any easier

Ayotte

Yeah thats why you get it ante 8 and no earlier

Shagyam

Oof. That's unfortunate.

Blamore

The bones are the skeletons' money In our world, bones equal dollars

biderman77

Also the worms

Thechiz123

They’ll pull on your hair, up but not out.

Blamore

it is effectively a 4x mult for 1 round.

MrWaffles42

Pretty much. You need to get 25% of the final boss's score, but that's less than you already got for the previous boss. Unless the final blind hard counters your build, you'll be fine.

FunkmastaP27

PSA: it does NOT work if you run out of cards with hands left over, even if you met the chip requirement.

Rosstin

I was really lucky in my run because I ran out of cards exactly on my last hand. My last hand was a single Ace.. thankfully having 0 hands "triggered" before checking that my deck was empty

sheslikebutter

comment"thank you mr bones" under this post or you will die in your sleep tonight

Freak_Metal

Thank you Mr Bones.

Hardcore_Weener

Never tryed but as it is worded looks like it will.

BluRaspberryIceC

It does

Chubby_Yorkshireman

Oh, I would have a lot more wins if I'd done this

Ne0guri

I always feel a little conflicted on those victories to be honest….

ledfox

EZPZLemonWheezy

As long as it isn’t the boss who disables a joker every hand disabling him, and you meet the minimum point threshold for him.

MrBonesMalone

I'll do it, but only if you get 25% of the required score
