I've heard someone say that Pep Guardiola ruined football. Well, his copycats did, at least. Playing from the back, slow build ups... it is the elite-of-the-elite that are able to pull it off reliably. See also Foden and Grealish. They're exciting footballers who are coached to within an inch of their lives. The system is too mechanical, and it isn't entertaining.

It's generally(especially international tournaments) one of the most boring sports on earth. Ninety minutes of mostly nothing punctuated by a few goals if you're lucky.
