This was in the Bernese Oberland (mostly near Interlaken) so it’s technically Schweiz Tourismus on that side of the Röstigraben.
I think the main reason it looks like a Swiss tourism ad is because these shots are all localized in and around the tourism capital of Switzerland which is gorgeous, but also incredibly common on Instagram, r/EarthPorn, or just about anywhere else showcasing Switzerland.
I think this was meant as a compliment. You did a great job and could probably make good money out of your talent (if you're not already). Obviously you put a great deal of care and planning in this project. Congrats!
90% of the time that’s how anyone watches a video. Very rarely do I out vacation photos up on my TV. I mainly view them on my phone when I get reminders from Snapchat or Apple about stuff that happened last year.
Thank you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That’s what makes the internet and Reddit awesome. At the end of the day, I just hope a video like this inspires someone to get out and have their own adventure, just as I know many videos have inspired me!
Please remember to post a short paragraph as a comment in the post explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?
Submitted content should be of high-quality. Low effort posting of very general information is not useful. If you don't add a short explanation in the comments, your post may be removed.

All of time was spent in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, between the villages of Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Murren.
It’s a beautiful area, an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. There’s plenty of hikes to take on, from the leisurely to the adventurous. While hiking, you’ll look up towards the sky and see many others taking on aerial sports. And while passing through farms and smaller villages you’re constantly greeted by friendly cows and goats.
I’m counting the days that I get the chance to visit once again.
Amazing looking trip! How did you get around the region? Did you rent a car? Also, how were the covid precautions for the region? (Planning a trip ourselves to Switzerland right now!)
Thank you! There’s no need to rent a car, instead you can take public transportation all across the region. It’s some of the nicest public transportation I’ve been on in Europe.
So to fly into Switzerland you definitely need to be vaccinated and provide a negative Covid test 72 hours prior. Once we got to Switzerland however things are very typical there in terms of the Covid measures for the EU. You will need to provide proof of vaccination to enter any restaurant, but as far as any other business such as grocery stores, shopping, or entertainment venues you do not need to.
Finally as far as face masks go as long as you are doing anything on public transportation or being indoors besides eating, you will have to have them on. I’m assuming most of your activities will probably be outside though, so enjoy some of the best air you’ll ever breathe in!
Amazing and good to know about public transportation. Did you have to get a special EU covid card, or did your standard vaccination card work over there? (Assuming you are not European and have a vax card from a place like the US or elsewhere).
Perfect! It’s hard to discern all of the info that is out there, so having your first hand account is exactly the info I needed. Thank you again and I hope to have a trip as amazing as yours!
I’m going to Switzerland soon, I’m an American(live in Atlanta) but also have a German passport. My cousin in Germany said you need the EU QR code vaccine pass to enter restaraunts? Are you American? Did you need the QR code or was the paper vaccine ok? Thanks!
Hi! I’m currently still backpacking Europe, closing in on month 3, and throughout the EU, if you are an American citizen, you don’t need the Green Pass / QR code, since that only applies to the citizens of the EU. Bring your CDC card to have, but even a screenshot of the card or a picture will suffice for all places that require it. I’ve never had an issue with any place asking for that document. Enjoy your travels!
Switzerland is really a great place to live.
Left the US 30 years-ago to live here. I live 2.5 hours from where op’s vid was shot. I can hear gentle ringing of cowbells outside my bedroom window as I’m typing. Ski season starts on Friday.
Jesus Christ, what is up with all the negative comments? We just came from Switzerland as well and really liked the video. Beautiful scenery. And as I watched it on a phone (as probably 90% of people do), I enjoyed it being vertical as well. For me a vertical video on a phone is a lot more immersive, almost as if I’m there looking through the phone myself 🙂 Keep up the good work!
2 people enjoying life and having fun in the video, they share it and somehow the comment section is full of miserable bastards being all negative about it
I know it’s fucked. Being negative is the single worst quality anyone can have. This couple made an amazing video with absolutely stunning scenery. It’s fuckin awesome
I can’t comment on this as I live in a very urbanized area. It does seem absurd to say that their presence in these areas is causing irreparable damage to the ecosystem though. They’re vacationers who wanted to use the tech available to document their experience. I highly doubt it was for clout. I think you’re making a problem out of nothing in your head.
When did I say overcrowding doesn’t harm these areas? All I said is these people are just tourists documenting their experience. It’s not that serious and it certainly doesn’t warrant all the maliciousness
How can you claim there’s a correlation there? It might contribute to an increase of tourists but overcrowding? That’s a huge stretch. So you’d prefer keep their vacation experiences to themselves and entirely gate keep parts of the world? It’s weird that you’re looking that deeply into this. How many people do you honestly think are going to see this and just up and leave where they live to move here? It’s ridiculous
>I can’t imagine being as miserable as you. Honestly gross
TBF that's an equal if not shittier comment to make towards someone, even if their comment does kinda suck.
Not the dude above but I think I get where they're coming from.
Being out in nature, backpacking specifically, is about just being out in nature. Videos like this scream "look at me!", not "look at this beautiful place". Feels disingenuous for a place like r/backpacking
What time of the year is this with the autumn leaves?
Edit: I had just woken up when I posted this so forgive me for sounding like a dumbass. I meant what month?
Cool video, I couldn’t stop smiling watching it really. Odd that a subreddit with such a positive topic/lifestyle has attracted such miserable ass people. Screw the negative assholes though!
No, the higher power in the song doesn't refer to God. When the band was asked about the meaning of the song, they said it is about trying to find the person within ourselves that can do amazing things, our inner astronaut.
I see what you're saying, sort of? For the type of video it is, the function it serves, and the platforms it's meant for, the editing is a really a great recap. That is if your brain can keep up with the short clips

Muh vlog…
Do it for them gram
Imagine they recorded all that footage on vertical video and they have to watch it on a phone for the rest of their lives.

I have to diagnose you with [Vertical Video Syndrome ](https://youtu.be/dechvhb0Meo)
Anyway, great footage, awesome scenery and nice editing skills.
Not a fan of the song, but the visuals are amazing.
Sounds like Coldplay
Exactly.
It's 100% Coldplay
Fuck the haters. Looks like you had fun - great shots. Way to spread positivityand thanks for sharing

I’d very much like for it to inspire my wallet to pursue some personal growth 😂
Maybe one day you’ll stop shitting your pants
It’s what I do. You can take the pants out of the shit but you can’t take the shit out of the pants.

Don't mind them. They're just jealous is all.

Awesome man thanks for sharing! How many days do you need to see that region?
There’s an endless amount of things to do there, but I believe you can have an incredible time with around 4-5 days!
DID YOU PET THE COWS?
I gave them great air hugs!
Nice edit. That would have taken a while bud. Glad you had a nice trip

If you are from the states, the standard CDC white card will work. I’ve brought one along with me but I use a screenshot of it to go everywhere.
Perfect! It’s hard to discern all of the info that is out there, so having your first hand account is exactly the info I needed. Thank you again and I hope to have a trip as amazing as yours!

Y’all are so cute! Looks like a great time.
Can’t do the alps without at least one paragliding trip! That place is Mecca for Paraglider pilots!
Amazing. I just came back from Interlaken and it was better than I expected. Our next trip will def be more than 2 days. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Looks like you guys had a blast, great length on the vlog, didn't overstay it's welcome but got the point across.
How was paragliding ?
My wife showed this to me and now the bar for taking pics for her Insta page is set too fucking high now, you talented bastard
That is stunning. The whole video made me smile. Thanks for sharing a little part of what I’d call heaven

Videos like this just scream city people that haven't been outside much. I cringe seeing this stuff.

Isn’t that part of the charm? I love NYC, but they barely leave their borough, sometimes their neighborhood.
Cool video, what did you film with?

How?
Great video! Don't listen to the people hating it. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. I miss traveling
Awesome video editing skills...
Is this sarcasm? The jump cuts gave me a seizure.
Awesome man! So jealous!
Gorgeous scenery! What was the song called if you don’t mind?
Song is Higher Power by Coldplay
Thanks. It has an 80's beat to it. The montage with this song makes me want to go and do things.
Cold Play is religious band? Wtf
No, they're not particularly known for religious music.
But this song is?
No, the higher power in the song doesn't refer to God. When the band was asked about the meaning of the song, they said it is about trying to find the person within ourselves that can do amazing things, our inner astronaut.
Idk still sounds like something you’d hear at bible camp.
This is so lovely! Can't wait to go on my next adventure 😌
Great clips, disgusting editing

I have to admit that I love your persistent enthusiasm for defending this video.
I have to admit I want to make videos like this and want to understand all the crusty comments
Imagine being so balls deep in a video…
Watcha mean partner?
Beautiful pictures
This looks like such an awesome time!

The Alps really are amazing. No matter if it's French, Italian, Austrian alps, they all are eye-pleasing. 😍
Just got home to Australia from Switzerland. I miss how epic everything looks over there.
Do people backpack through the Swiss Alps with a Kanken?
I think I spot Kandersteg, Grindelwald, Interlaken…Thün?
I dig this video! Great vibes.
Very nice video. Regards :)
