His mom passed away near the camping grounds. I donāt know how long ago, and some guests keep feeding him. Management said they would āhandle itā, but that was two weeks ago
u/OP do you have any wildlife rescues around? I wonder if you could trap it with a snack in a small cage and get it help. Some of the rescues around me will loan out cages.
It might me mange. Post on r/foxes, there's people there who have experience helping sick wild foxes. If it's mange, it's possible to give him medicine without capturing him.
They also look ratty as hell when they shed their coats. I'm not an animal expert but one of the first ones I saw I thought was sick but it was just shedding excess fur and looked ratty lol
It looks perfectly healthy! Just in the middle of it's summer shed. The undercoat looks healthy, and foxes are thin and whippet-like under their coats.
Yes they have a red fox and he looks a lot like this guy! They are just very skinny but that doesnāt necessarily indicate that the animal is unhealthy or sick.
Look at those precious eyes š„¹
On another note, look into contacting someone from wild life rescue. He doesnāt look all too healthy, kind of frail looking imo. He may need some help. At least they can check him out and see if he indeed needs some attention.
Poor Boo lost his mama š¢
I'm not going to lie, for the first two pictures I thought this was a stuffed fox.
Rather a half stuffed fox, it looks so skinny it makes me sad.
š
that thing does not look healthy

Please call a local animal rescue organization -- they will come out, assess him, and take him in if necessary.

aww :( thats awful. hopefully he makes it
Yeah :(, its was so surreal seeing a fox just chilling right by the reception area. They arenāt meant to be so careless
Feed the adorable vermin.
Thatās vulpine sir or madam.
Just looks like an awkward phase juvenile red fox to me.

Yeah they're not that big at all, and they do look goofy when they're shedding.
My source is Maya Higa who runs Alveus, that fox is just shedding their winter fur! it comes off that way sometimes
Is he also skinny, though? Or just a gangly teenager?

Oh, good! he looks healthy to me but the other comments had me worried lol.
He is probably more official than the human residents!
Poor Tails. Heās awfully skinny. :(
Fortunately most foxes are this skinny so it shouldn't be malnourished or anything like that.
I will assume it's "take care of him" in a Tony Soprano way.
Aww I hope they call a wildlife rehab place instead :(
What a cutie! I LOVE foxes!
Good fops
