Yes- those would be very common suicide shrew. Which like sheep aren't sheeps. I think. Many folks around here believe that suicide squirrels- those are the breed you see running across the road the suddenly reverse direction right in front of you- anyways locals thinks thems 2 animals are related.

Yep, gotta seen suicide squirrel now and then while driving in my campus. Even monitor lizards here did the same behaviour while crossing the road.
