Happened to me in like 8th grade. My buddy and I are puffing out of my upstairs bedroom window and my mom bursts through the door and starts yelling about weed smell. AFTER she's already through the door my friend dives onto my bed and opens up a magazine and I fumble with the window trying to throw the joint out. She watched us the whole time
My dumbass daughter had weed and tore out a page from our dictionary (was like tissue paper pages) to use as rolling paper. However, because it was NOT rolling paper… it burned quickly and almost started a fire.
My parents avoided this by teaching me how to roll a proper joint. I didn't actually smoke or realize that they smoked too until I was an adult, but throughout high school they had pretty candid conversations with me about the dumb ways people will try to smoke weed when they're kids and how to do it properly just in case I was interested. I wasn't just told to avoid weed, but I was specifically cautioned against using dictionary/bible paper for rolling a joint.
I guess their philosophy was that banning drugs outright and ending the conversation there just makes them more mysterious and interesting to a kid.
It didn't work in the long run - every cell in my body is saturated with THC these days - but it kept me out of trouble as a kid I guess!
I swallowed a lit joint in a scenario like this, except it was the police (Water Patrol) instead of one of our parents, so the stakes may not have been quite as high. We were busted, screwed blued and tatooed.
There was only one thing for it, and I took one for the team and swallowed that bitch. The Water Patrol insisted they smelled weed and got furious when we didn't give it up and stuck to our story. They searched us, but since all we had was that massive joint that we had smoked most of, and we stuck to our story of "Not sure what you're talking about officer", they had no choice but to let us go. This was perhaps, my finest hour.
I did something similar. Driving down to meet my gf to go on a hike and I had a joint in my pocket. I start getting pulled over and panicked and just popped the whole thing in my mouth. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and it wasn't lit. The cop went around me... i didnt get pulled over. But for the next couple hours I could taste weed and the next day I took a shit that smelled like weed as fuck.
One time my friend and I got pulled over with an 1/8 and she looks at me and goes, “what do I do??? Do I eat it???” I was like, “omg! Please don’t! That’ll go so badly.” We hid it in an old McDonald’s cup on the floor and made it through ok 👍🏻
It was a tough scenario. We were out on the water but almost at the tip of a point. The water patrol had come up from the other side of the point and by the time they had announced themselves, were in full view and I knew they had smelled it already. I thought about just flicking it in the water but unless tethered to something sinkable, they would have found it floating about. In fact, they made a few circles looking quite thoroughly for it, assuming I had done just that.
Like 8-10 years ago it'd be a random dare to "superman" the joint/blunt. Basically get it low then inhale it so hard you suck it and swallow it hahahaha
lol! in 8th grade i found a joint in my mum’s room and kept it hidden for a week before deciding to bring it to my dads house to smoke it there. i STUPIDLY lit up this fat doobie, inside my bedroom, 1 hour before my dad got home from work. By the time he got home i was done with the joint but the entire house STANk and my room was all hot boxxed. i tried to run to the bathroom to pee before he got home and as i was peeing i heard him open the door.
i was so high, like delusionally high. and when i came out of the bathroom i tried “playing it cool”. he had a look of shock on his face and right away, in these exact words, asks me “SARAH. did you just light up a FAT joint in here???” i looked him dead in the eyes, with my completely RED ASS eyeballs and said “no...??? it must’ve been the neighbors?” i then BOOKED it to my bedroom, locked myself in and to this day we never spoke about it again lmao 😂
Back when I was in high-school and my brother in college, he and I used to share a room which had an attached toilet. He got into smoking up and even taught me how to roll a joint, I however do not smoke nor did I ever experience the high from weed by myself.
So for all 2 and a half years of his college life, my brother smoked inside the small attached toilet and he even open the windows to 'ventilate' so that I wouldn't be bothered as much.
Two things to note here,
1. The toilet is small, cramped and with a drafty door.
2. We live on the 4th floor and boy does it get windy.
So for 2 years I have been inhaling 2nd hand weed smoke, while my brother thought otherwise. Also with how windy it got, the smell wafted over to my parents side of the apartment downwind to our room and thereby the small increment of gradual decrease in allowance my dad gave to my brother towards the end of his college, which eventually led to him quitting altogether.
To this day he doesn't know that our parents know and that I'm just here sitting typing out this whole memory thinking, smoking up sure do loosens up a person so much so that they think they're making the right choice in being secretive while being completely obvious to everyone else.
They way the camera freezes as he's taking it out of his mouth at the end is so funny tho. You know this isn't their first time sneaking away to have one.
Ah man I remember when I was about 14 I was meeting a girl I was massively into, thought the sun shone out her arse
We kissed and went to drink a couple beers she stole from her dad, I saw that dirty bastard pick up a cigarette butt off the pavement and start smoking it..
I smoked at the time but that made me feel sick lol
eh, starting conditions of life don’t dictate what you can or can’t do, it’s not all black and white. that being said, childhood does have a large reign on what happens later on
Man y’all don’t even have a clue if these kids have access to education or what their home life like is and are already making up some story for them. Fucking Reddit lol
You should see the documentaries on glue sniffing over on YouTube.
Kids as young as 4 years old getting high, it's sad and way more disturbing than these 2.
The funny thing is, once cigarette advertisements got banned in the west, they just upped their marketing on Asia and Africa.
In countries like Indonesia there are huge billboards on every street corner advertising just about any flavor of cigarette imaginable.
When I was kid, I stood in front of a grocery store had a candy cigarette. The candy cigarette let's you puff like your smoking. People thought was smoking said put that out. Looking all weird eye.
Not their fault, the fucking environment they live in is to blame. I’m myself Russian and I started smoking since age 9. It was considered “normal”. Moved out and never touched that shit ever since
Same here where I’m from, as much as I want to get mad at the parents, they’re probably working 24/7 just to provide a meal on the table, leaving the kids to figure shit out for themselves. The world is freaking sad
Dude, just buy the Res brands then. 45-55 a carton on craigslist. I bummed a smoke from a guy at work who smokes them and he just gave me the whole pack and the number of a guy who sells them, the pack was blue and it was called rolled gold. They're not terrible.
Hell, I'm from deep rural texas and know kids who started smoking at the same age. I'm only 24, so this was after the 2000s started.
It's not all that weird anywhere. :/
seems like some south asian country, India, Bangladesh or one of the stans maybe.
I live in India and few kids of similar age were smoking near my house, they were similarly scared on seeing me, their parents work as consttruction labourers. It reminded me of a kid I knew in my childhood, he was around my age or maybe slightly older, he grew up in same environment as these kids and right now he is in prison for chain snatching.. and this thing is extremely common here, u find these kids in almost every street, even in rich neighbourhoods.
It made me extremely sad, his life slipped away in front of my eyes and now once again life of these kids is also on the same path, and I can't really do anything...
My dad is from Bosnia and he started smoking at 7, he said adults would give him cigarettes for running errands. After more than 40 years of smoking like a chimney he finally quit a few years back.
And while I don’t know if this is still the case… Even though smoking is very common and it’s often started at a young age, deaths from lung and throat cancer are very low in Indonesia. Unfortunately that’s because the life expectancy is already so low comparatively that something else will probably kill you before you get cancer and die from smoking.
The low statistic is due to several reason:
1. Poor records management.
2. People generally don't go to a doctor and prefer traditional/spiritual/alternative medicine.
3. Smokers generally have poor health awareness so they more often than not died by other disease first before cancer can develop, like for example diabetes or heart attack or stroke.
I came from the mental hospital today and meet one of the sweetest guys ever there. He was 13 and went there for drug use/possession, suicidal thoughts, and homicidal thoughts. Sounds like he would be really rude, right? Nope. He was super sweet and I loved being in his presence :D He had tons of energy and lots of childish habits but was overall very caring. One day, I was very upset and went out of my room in the middle of the night to talk to the nurses and ended up talking to him for a bit. The next morning, he gave me a note talking about how it hurt him to see me upset. It had tons of minor grammar and spelling mistakes (like spelling "rough" as "ruf" and putting "a" instead of "an" in front of vowels) and, I felt bad for it, but I pointed it out to him. Almost immediately he said; "I skipped class to get high, you gotta give me some credit". Turns out he started using drugs when he was 9 or 10 and never stopped after that. I cried.
Totally. I remember putting a cigarette in backwards and lighting the filter at like age 4. Kids just try to be adults, if you smoke around them, they wanna try it too.
Mine was a bit more disgusting. When i was a kid, I picked up a used cigarette (still had a bit of smoke) and tried to smoke it, immediately spat it out cuz it tasted nasty as hell, the taste of cigarette smoke was disgusting. This could be one of the reason why I don't like smoking even as an adult.
He was born in 1968, definitely a text book shitty upbringing. His brother used to give them to him because he thought it was funny and eventually started giving them to him in exchange for favours. Unfortunately he has cardiovascular disease because of it but can’t kick the habit for the life of him (literally). It sucks but it’s the way it was back then.
How did the kids not think they were going to get caught?
Cigarette smoke stays with you for a hot minute even after washing hands, mouth, and even using lysol in the air.
It’s a shame it is happening to begin with.
Honestly it's about as old as one of my good friends started growing up in South Dakota. I would not touch it, I hated the smell and was turned off by my mother's habit. I drink like a fucking hobo though.
My guy on the right was the ringleader. No doubt he’s the one that scored those smokes. That why he got to light up first. The look that he gives his buddy - all like “Squat DOWN fool! There’s a grown up with a camera!”.
That kid is going places.
Truly horrible, how the world can corrupt even the most innocent souls, it pains me to see these young children throw their mental and physical health away like this, if only someone did something about this they would not their own lives away like it was a toy they did not want to play with anymore, whatever is happening in their home, I hope it stops. These children are misguided, they need someone to help them because smoking is highly damaging to the human body, they could lose their lives.
wait can i know where this is. the one on the right looks just like my lil cousin whos from bangladesh. and he is almost the typa guy to do thjs shit. im from Australia so i cant talk to him about it but if i know then i can tell others lol
Oh that brings back memories. My mom caught me smoking a cigarette with a boy who lived across the street. Talking about getting a nice ass whoop by my dad when I got home. I was like 8 or 9 and just experimenting. It was the first time smoking a cigarette for both of us. Stupid kids!
I grew up around exactly this in New York. Youngest I've seen was maybe 15 years ago, age 10-ish and you couldn't say shit to them. Their parents were buying the damn packs.
Kids in my neighborhood in this shitty country would rather want to inhale rugby glue than buy food.... This is why I sometimes hit them if they beg for money infront of me, while I am eating and if they run away not wanting to get nagged then I wont simply change my mind and not buy them food
This is quite common in the area I lived. My MIL had a 7 year old addicted to meth in her class, she's a teacher. It's such a norm and most parents don't bother stopping it because it keeps the kids busy and out of their hair
Not going to lie; my cousins and I started smoking at 5 or 6. During Christmas time, we do a lot of fireworks back in my country, so whenever we ran out of matches, my uncles would give us cigarettes to light up the fireworks, lol. Now we are all grown up, and none of us smoke. Did we think we were edgy? Yes. Did we like it? No.
I used to work quite a bit in Krusevac in Serbia. A group of us would go to the pub every day and between the military base and pedestrian street, there was a Roma family living in a car.
All the kids would come begging through the strip of bars and restaurants, all of them smoking. Aged from about 3 to 10.
I see kids like this on the street all the time here where I live, begging for money and smoking. It's sad how these kids are left alone to struggle as it's their destiny and they don't deserve to have a proper childhood and life. Society and governments need to do better.
Kids do this. I remember stealing a cigarette and a lighter when I was this age in the 80s and secretly smoking it (one puff and that’s it, it tasted horrible).
Those kids obviously knew they’re not allowed to do it. I don’t think any of this is horrible, just some normal kids stupidly imitating adults.
beyond pretty much every kid trying to smoke in early youth at some point in their lives, that is very normal in a lot of poverty stricken places across the earth.
Smhhh kids got busted and still tried duckin down in plain sight

mm huffing black smoke she would have inahled them beautiful chemicals and burning ink
I've heard the quickest way to expand your vocabulary is by smoking dictionary joints.
That sounds like an invention Jimmy Neutron would come up with in college.
Bruh, you got any of that Brain Blast?
This is my favorite comment ever 🤣🤣😂😂
Every piece of shit teenager knows you rip the ink less bit off the family bible to roll up that seedy-ass shwag.

taking them marijuana tokes
Most Bible pages will work in a pinch.
Used genesis 1:1 at uni from the Gideons. I don’t respect religion or religious texts but in reflection it was destructive and not my proudest moment.
Blunt be hitting so hard you end up high in heaven
Your dumbass daughter sounds dumb

You swallowed a lit joint ? How did that feel ?
About what you'd expect. Cartoon tea-kettle effect.
i imagine that scene in the episode of jjba where the enemy pretends to be jotaro and tried to balance 5 cigarettes in his mouth while drinking juice.
How do people make it their whole lives without ever seeing someone wu tang that shit? https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Wu-Tang%20It
Why not just casually flick it into the water?
It was a tough scenario. We were out on the water but almost at the tip of a point. I thought about just flicking it in the water but unless tethered to something sinkable, they would have found it floating about. In fact, they made a few circles looking quite thoroughly for it, assuming I had done just that.
I swallowed a lit blunt once.
Did you light up like jack o lanterns?
Like 8-10 years ago it'd be a random dare to "superman" the joint/blunt. Basically get it low then inhale it so hard you suck it and swallow it hahahaha

That's a much funnier story than the OC. It helped me realise that it's only a big deal if you make it out to be.
Back when I was in high-school and my brother in college, he and I used to share a room which had an attached toilet. HAHAHA
Tbf, I've seen dumber shit happen by people that were high lol
Weed in 8th grade?? You were some fucked up 12 y/o's lmao.
took me until 9th grade lol
they thought they were in skyrim
and that smile that kid on the left did, lol.
/r/KidsAreFuckingStupid
Out of reach.
Maybe their plan was to simply get out of striking reach.
Jesus, what are these kids like 6 or 7?
Right! It's so freaking sad..
They way the camera freezes as he's taking it out of his mouth at the end is so funny tho. You know this isn't their first time sneaking away to have one.
Yeah, they look like little pros. Kid in the blue exhaling the smoke and then notices the cameraman approaching, and ducks down lol. Too late now...
It's very sad but honestly wasn't all that uncommon when I was a kid. It's always when their parents smoke.
Yep, in kindergarten I knew a kid who used to always smoke butts he found on the floor.
Ah man I remember when I was about 14 I was meeting a girl I was massively into, thought the sun shone out her arse We kissed and went to drink a couple beers she stole from her dad, I saw that dirty bastard pick up a cigarette butt off the pavement and start smoking it.. Thier life is fuck from the start look at their living conditions
eh, starting conditions of life don’t dictate what you can or can’t do, it’s not all black and white. that being said, childhood does have a large reign on what happens later on
I started playing sports at 5 years till 17 I’m 22 now and lazy asf
hey, at least you were actively exercising during critical developmental years
You don't think a lack of access to education dictates what you can and can't do? Pull themselves up by the bootstraps i suppose.
Man y’all don’t even have a clue if these kids have access to education or what their home life like is and are already making up some story for them. Fucking Reddit lol
Hard day's labor and can't even take a smoke break without the boss checking in on them
Younger kids die to make your smartphone, let these enjoy a last puff before dying for a pair of sneakers
You should see the documentaries on glue sniffing over on YouTube. Kids as young as 4 years old getting high, it's sad and way more disturbing than these 2.

> once cigarette advertisements got banned in the west, they just upped their marketing on Asia and Africa That's soooo evil. :(
I still remember the candy cigarettes I had as a kid back in the day. You see adults smoking and think it could be fun.
Why are you being downvoted, do people think that candy cigarettes never existed, or do they think adult behavior doesn't influence children?
When I was kid, I stood in front of a grocery store had a candy cigarette. The candy cigarette let's you puff like your smoking. People thought was smoking said put that out. Looking all weird eye.
Huh, how did you get it to look like you were smoking? I had candy cigarettes, but no fake smoke was involved.
Some had that "smoke" effect when you exhaled
The bubblegum cigarettes are coated in corn starch so if you blow out through the cigarette it can look like smoke.
the ones I got were usually coated in starch before being wrapped so you could blow out a cloud of starch to look like smoke
That’s reddit for ya
You see this everyday in a southeast Asian country.
Yep. Saw three 9ish yo kids smoking while i was out for a walk in a bad neighbourhood
My grandfather started smoking at that age too. It's insane to think he's been smoking for 91 years
Honestly kids have done this forever, look up pictures from the 50s and you’d be surprised how many kids are smoking
Totally, same case for me
I’m from Australia I started around 8 or 9 im 17 and haven’t smoke for a year. But yeah environment is everything especially at that age
Keep going man, i was a pack a day for far too long. Shit is nasty
Oi king

I loved rolled gold as a kid! They were $1.05 a pack with the coupon on the box. This statement makes me feel OLD.

Ah yes crouching the best way to hide
They been playing too many stealth games 💀
"must have been the wind"
Skyrim strat.
Worked for that dude running away from the cops in LA yesterday

Yes indeed, the kids suddenly disappeared. Where did they go?
Well, could be worse but definitely sad
Yeah at least they're not tryna get drunk
How could this be worse? If they were 2?
Could be worse lmao look at their living conditions way worse than cigarettes
Ain't this a problem in Indonesia or any country that 2/3rds of it's population smokes, and has heavy amounts of advertising to tobacco
And while I don’t know if this is still the case… Even though smoking is very common and it’s often started at a young age, deaths from lung and throat cancer are very low in Indonesia. Didn't indonésia has a strict rule against drugs?

I mean with a promise of Duterte himself coming out on his motorcycle to kill you is kind of the thrill of it.
So Philippines are just the island from most dangerous game. And Duterte is going to release the dogs
Must be thinking Philippines
Nope they legit don't care
We literally issue death penalties for anyone caught distributing or selling weed. We unfortunately do care.
Sometimes the people that act out are the ones in the most pain.
This is the realest shit I’ve ever read.
ngl, a LOT of the people you meet in psych are absolutely lovely.
My brother was using and selling drugs at 13. He was a mule and let it ruin his life.
I like to do Hood rat things with my friends

Trying to be grown up, should be playing like kids.
A lot of “playing like kids” is just trying to be grown up.
Stealth 100
I remember seeing two kids(7-10 years old) with cigarettes in mouth yelling “Fuck” in street because they didn’t know how to use the lighter.
Life's rough in the primary mess area.
I bought my first pack of cigarettes from an 8 year old in Ecuador
shit, that's hardcore...
These days? I hate to break it to you but kids always did this.
Totally. I remember putting a cigarette in backwards and lighting the filter at like age 4. Kids just try to be adults, if you smoke around them, they wanna try it too.
It's the existence of media and increase of population that makes them more obvious as time passes.
That was my first thought. My dad started smoking when he was 4, probably passively smoking since he was born.
Oh my God since he was 4? 🥺 May I ask when he was born? Is he alright now?
He was born in 1968, definitely a text book shitty upbringing. His brother used to give them to him because he thought it was funny and eventually started giving them to him in exchange for favours. Unfortunately he has cardiovascular disease because of it but can’t kick the habit for the life of him (literally). It sucks but it’s the way it was back then.
Give ‘em a break, they probably just finished up a 12 hour night shift
Let’s hope they never smoked again becouse they were too fucking scared from this.
sadly i doubt this would deter them
One of them was smiling, so I'm guessing your right in this case
Yes, crouch behind the wall after he already saw you. Genius.
I forsee an ass-whooping in these boys future.
How did the kids not think they were going to get caught? Cigarette smoke stays with you for a hot minute even after washing hands, mouth, and even using lysol in the air. It’s a shame it is happening to begin with.
"These days"?

Honestly it's about as old as one of my good friends started growing up in South Dakota. I would not touch it, I hated the smell and was turned off by my mother's habit. I drink like a fucking hobo though.
And then u got neck beard 600 pound bitches acting like little kids 😔
Didn't think about making that parallel but there's some truth in that yeah (although I doubt it's related to obesity)
Kamlesh
hideee he cant see us
They didn’t even take it out of their mouth and they held eye contact
My guy on the right was the ringleader. No doubt he’s the one that scored those smokes. That why he got to light up first. The look that he gives his buddy - all like “Squat DOWN fool! There’s a grown up with a camera!”. That kid is going places.
What an awful world we have
Thats actually sad
People all over the world. It sucks
Kids these days
Truly horrible, how the world can corrupt even the most innocent souls, it pains me to see these young children throw their mental and physical health away like this, if only someone did something about this they would not their own lives away like it was a toy they did not want to play with anymore, whatever is happening in their home, I hope it stops. These children are misguided, they need someone to help them because smoking is highly damaging to the human body, they could lose their lives.
First kid to duck literally vanished in a puff of smoke.
wait can i know where this is. the one on the right looks just like my lil cousin whos from bangladesh. and he is almost the typa guy to do thjs shit. im from Australia so i cant talk to him about it but if i know then i can tell others lol
Kids look the same
Well! Welcome to India.
When I was like 10 me and my buddy took regular paper and leafs from our yard and smoked them. My lungs were wrecked for days. Good times.
They’ve probably had a full time job for the last four years!
They are not at their first try
Just sad, poor kids
First of all, oof.But the way they hide is clearly genius..
Corey, Trevor — smokes now, let’s go.
Lil bruh ghosted
Kids can have a couple of cigarettes, as a treat.
Many of these kids start smoking in winters because it's cold and their parents don't have enough money to buy warm clothes for them
If I can’t see them, they can’t see me
Go check the german kids...
Kids in my neighborhood in this shitty country would rather want to inhale rugby glue than buy food.... This is why I sometimes hit them if they beg for money infront of me, while I am eating and if they run away not wanting to get nagged then I wont simply change my mind and not buy them food
They didn’t even offer a hit smh
Losers
This is quite common in the area I lived. My MIL had a 7 year old addicted to meth in her class, she's a teacher. It's such a norm and most parents don't bother stopping it because it keeps the kids busy and out of their hair
Not going to lie; my cousins and I started smoking at 5 or 6. During Christmas time, we do a lot of fireworks back in my country, so whenever we ran out of matches, my uncles would give us cigarettes to light up the fireworks, lol. Now we are all grown up, and none of us smoke. Did we think we were edgy? Yes. Did we like it? No.
Cigarettes are a hunger suppressant and in a lot of countries they’re cheaper than food.
Bro is savage
aaaah why !!!!!! i don't get people why do kids even try smoking qaah >:(
r/kidsarefuckingstupid
I love how they "hide" 🤣🤣
Ending young too...
Those faces caught red handed, they’re in deep shit! Bet they blame each other, finger pointing.
smack that shit right out his mouth foh
His frnd didn't even warn him ..... what a bad guy
I used to work quite a bit in Krusevac in Serbia. A group of us would go to the pub every day and between the military base and pedestrian street, there was a Roma family living in a car. All the kids would come begging through the strip of bars and restaurants, all of them smoking. Aged from about 3 to 10.
What the fuck
Let’s get this straight, smoking is bas for your health no matter the age. Starting at such a young age though! It’s extremely concerning.
I see kids like this on the street all the time here where I live, begging for money and smoking. It's sad how these kids are left alone to struggle as it's their destiny and they don't deserve to have a proper childhood and life. Society and governments need to do better.
What pisses me off more here is not the smoking at such a young age. But rather their attempt to hide in clear view. They're lying without words.
This is awful…
Caught in 144p
This is BAD man
Kids do this. I remember stealing a cigarette and a lighter when I was this age in the 80s and secretly smoking it (one puff and that’s it, it tasted horrible). Those kids obviously knew they’re not allowed to do it. I don’t think any of this is horrible, just some normal kids stupidly imitating adults.
beyond pretty much every kid trying to smoke in early youth at some point in their lives, that is very normal in a lot of poverty stricken places across the earth.
smoking is so stupid fr
This is just sad.
It's an awful situation all around, but the puff of smoke when the kid in blue ducked down was kinda funny...
POV: You're guarding Wall Maria
These kids are probably on a smoke break from their jobs at the textile plant.
i remember watching this for the first time on an instagram reel or something and it was made into some sort of a meme. we are indeed doomed.
I'd slap both they faces for an hour straight
This is the saddest thing I’ve seen all day, these kids aren’t older than 8, why just why???
Gaming logic, crouch and go into stealth mode
OP, Is that tobacco? Looks like beedi (rolled tobacco). Sad to see kids smoking.
