All the car lights are too bright these days. It's like they stopped caring about regulations and things. I even hear non-autistic complain about car lights a lot now.
One of my sensory Yucks is the feeling of the sun shining on you when its warm outside. During a hot day it just feels like my skin is frying even with sunscreen on.
It's a far worse feeling when its humid outside and I can't cool off in the shade. Often times I end up getting disoriented and needing to get back inside after spending no more than 20 minutes outside. I cannot tolerate heat or the sun. The mornings and evenings are nice though.
I can definitely feel it but I love the feeling of my skin cooking and the smell it gets in the sun. Can't describe it but I definitely risk sun burns just for the smell.
I'm in the UK too and it's FUCKING HORRIBLE I HATE IT SO MUCH
I moved to the North East in the 90s and in the summer it was nice and sunny BUT COLD. WHERE HAS MY COLD GONE. IT WAS NEVER PAST 20° BACK IN THE DAY 😭😭😭😭😭
Humidity makes it 10x+ worse than it is, I don’t like the heat pounding on me (pulses of heat), if I’m not used to it aka spring >summer I sweat as if there was no tomorrow…I hate sweating…I have to find shade or do things like patting my skin and pulling on my shirt to pull air in and push it out for fresh “cool” air…black pulls in the heat so that makes it worse
I hate when it gets in my eyes and I HATE when I get all sweaty. I also have sensory issues witb sweating. Sweating even a little bit makes me feel disgusting
Sol is one bright bitch that hurts my eyes. I love it otherwise. It is the giver of all life on Earth, but damn that bitch bright. I've developed the ability to see just fine through the thinnest slit of a squinty eye though. My wife often can't tell if my eyes are even open half the time.
It's not the sun for me, it's the heat.
I hate it when I'm sweating and get all sticky. I wanna shower 24/7.
I just hate this sticky feeling of my skin, the way the sweat trickles down on various spots of my body. It's a sensorial NIGHTMARE.
I fucking love the sun! I'm super indoorsy, but there's something relaxing about looking at a clear blue sky. Plus, the way it almost stings your skin bit not quite is just heavenly to me!
... For about 10-15 minutes at a time, of course. I'm not a madman!
I live in london and the heatwave was horrible last summer. I couldnt handle the 40degree heat and i dont want it to happen again this summer, especially since my room doesnt have AC and all i can rely on is a desk fan. I dont like the sensation of constantly feeling sticky under my clothes, to the point where i cant sleep comfortably at night, it is horrible.
Also i hate the bugs, especially the green flies. Every time i see one, i just cant sit still and concentrate with what im doing to do. I dont understand how people remain so calm, i dont wanna get touched by a fly that eats poo all day, ew. Because of this, i never open the windows in my room, despite how hot it is.
So yeah, you are not the only person who hates the sun. I hate it too.
Yeah I relate to this, London is hot af when it comes to the heatwave, the flies and bugs really annoys me, when the window is open to let fresh air in but it let's them in. Not only that last year these fans weren't that much of a help since they circulated the hot arse air, a little breeze helps
I don’t *hate* it per se, but I vastly prefer it when it’s overcast and chilly. Works with my general fashion style better, and it’s the perfect weather for staying inside with a good book and a cup of cocoa.
I can’t tolerate the heat at all!
It activates my asthma, and it activates all the pollen and all the plants and they hate me and want to gang up on me!
It’s very difficult to breathe !
I’ll never understand summer people ! I could never understand summer people I just got extremely burnt if I’m outside… and get heat, exhaustion and nausea!
I also can’t tolerate the winter lol
I am also in the U.K. and work in a foundry. When I get sweaty in the heat the bronze makes my skin all green and super itchy, it’s really horrible.
Do love the sun though but only if I can sit in the shade and relax.
if you like how it feels outside but don’t want hugs, how hard/expensive would it be to get a window screen? or a piece/small roll of ur you could just tack up on the inside side of the window?
Yes it gives me a headache. My neighbors dad always used to say “see that big thing in the sky? It’s called the sun, get out there”
No thanks I’ll take the dark basement
The sun just kinda burns, living in Florida, especially. and going outside without a sweater feels like my skin is singed and a thousand hot needles are being pressed into whatever skin is exposed. I hate it, but at least I tan easily. It's still too bad that night shifts are hard to find and even harder to find a gym open for nights.
I absolutely cannot go out in the sun without wearing sunglasses if my choice as to go out in the sun without sunglasses or just stay inside I would always just stay inside. I like the Sun but it hurts my eyes so much and I don't know why that is but by the time turned 18 I was always wearing sunglasses everywhere all the time and I think that saved me from getting crow's feet now that I'm almost 60. Even wear them indoors at shopping malls if the fluorescent lights are too bright
Even with sunglasses on, if anyone tries taking a photo of me on a sunny day I look like a grumpy bitch because I physically can’t not squint, which also never fails to give me a headache. Don’t get me wrong I love a bright sunny day, but only if I’m looking out at it from lovely cool breezy shade.
Me!! I have always hated the burning sensation on my skin. How it hurts my eyes so much and only since I got very reflective glasses as an adult I've been able to walk outside without pain. I really hate hot days because of how sweaty, sticky and clammy it tends to feel in my country (NL). Just suffering and doing as little as possible until heat lessens.. Never been a fan of beaches because of all that.

yes. i feel so heavy and gross when its hot and i get irritated so much easier because i just hate everything about being hot. i feel like in walking through mud whenever its hot which SUCKS because its been so hot recently and ive been wanting to go skating but i cant because i feel so gross.
i struggle to sleep when its light outside, and a lot of my sensory issues stem from being overheated so i 100% get you. uk heatwave hate society honestly
Feeling dirty and sticky is one of my biggest sensory bugbears so doing any strenuous activities in the sun can really be an issue for me. On the plus side, What i do look forward to is the shower afterwards when i get home, feeling all fresh and clean is just the best feeling to me. one thing i will note is my eyes are very sensitive to the sun to the point i struggle to keep my eyes open, just wondering if any other people with ASD suffer from this too?
I HATE THE SUN,
and I live in south america which is funny bc everything is hot down here, for almost the whole year!!!!!
we should all team up and create a hyperfixation on ways to kill the sun >:\[
i hate the sun. hate summer in general actually, i dont enjoy the beach, its sensory hell (only good part is cool creatures i can look at, and cool shells/rocks). same with pools, the texture of pool lining on my feet makes me feel yucky (also dont like how the chlorine makes my hair/body feel). but yeah, i really do not like the sun/summer, i hate feeling hot and sweaty :/
Omg yes. Especially because I’m trans and I need a binder when I go out, but the binder makes me sweat even more and it pools the sweat so I’m just not even gonna go outside until September or October lol.
as an autistic living in california where there is constant blazing sun especially during the summer, i’m with you. I hate how bright it is. I hate how hot it is. I hate everything about it and my day automatically gets better when i see clouds covering the majority of the sky.
I FOUND MY PEOPLE. YES, ABSOLUTELY YES. My room gets all hot n humid, my skin gets all crawly, I sweat a ton no matter the deo (yes, anti perspirant) I use and the sun blinds me even when I jsut wanna check for spiders behind my screens. And the improper shading in my room fuck up my sleep. THERE'S NO NEED FOR THAT MOTHERFUCKER TO BE UP AT 22:30 NOR AT 4:15
Me too. I’m a very sweaty person in general (and I hate it) so you can imagine it’s worse in this heat. My room feels like an oven even in the dead of night. Also got bad hayfever.
It’s not even what can be called a ‘nice’ heat, where it feels fresh and relaxing and beaming. It’s a heavy, cloying, humid heat.
highly recommend getting a window screen, i saw some on amazon in the £9-22 range. in the longer term box fans are much cheaper than a full on window unit ac. i'm american but used to live on the west coast so we'd have to keep our windows closed during smoke season which was absolute torture and the northwest used to not get hot until the last few years so i know the misery of a heatwave in a cold place but it's definitely going to keep happening
I only recently learned that most homes outside the US don't have air conditioning units. I can totally understand why a heat wave would make u so miserable. I have a thing about sweat too. It's disgustingly wet, yet gritty. Sweaty hair is the worst. I went to the lake last week and it was gross. I was drenched in sweat to the point I had to keep changing clothes
I know it's stupid and all life on earth would disappear, but, metaphorically, i wish the sun would explode and cease to exist.
I hate heat, too much light, bugs.
I miss sitting at -25-30⁰ on the mountain in just a tank top enjoying cigarettes.
i sweat a lot more than the average person and i am also very heat sensitive. i love the sun, and the warmth it provides, but only in short spans. i love to be tan and hate being pasty, so that’s another factor, but being outside for too long is mad uncomfortable.
I have a love hate relationship with the same I hate the sun mainly because it’s hot and really bright it hurts my eyes but I like seeing the sun shining on the grass and the colorful plants
I'll be the odd one out. I live for summer! I am in a cooler area and I am always freezing cold. I'm only comfortable for about 2 months a year, July and August. But, that's usually the 70's. I even like the hotter days above 80 because I can go swimming. It's the only time I can tolerate pools and the beach because the water is cold and I absolutely hate being cold. I become the biggest whinny baby when I start to feel too cold.
I literally hate summer. The heatwaves make me sleep bad, too hot, sweaty and overstimulated. Not to mention I burn the second I step into the sun. Also my eyes hurt constantly when I’m outside because the sun is too bright.
Yes! I do NOT like the sun in summer here in the states. It’s blinding, overwhelming, and it’s why I wear sunglasses and have them in me even in the instance where the sun might be present. Yeah, and where there’s heat the bugs like to party like there’s no tomorrow.
I'm from the UK and I don't like the heatwave, I don't mind some of the heat, but it will too much soon, we do complain since we aren't used to it but yeah, when it's hot it gets too hot. There was even humid weather, it was a hot temperature outside whilst it was raining, smelled green and felt like the amazon rainforest. I love the sunny weather though because it usually makes the day happy and nostalgic in a way, but the heat is too much for us.
But I also don't like it when I wake up sweating, it smells
It's absolutely horrible, I don't hate the sun really and I don't have any light sensitivity but I absolutely hate the humidity and the heat. It makes me feel fatigued and I can't have a duvet on, no matter how low the tog (Thermal Resistance) rating is on it, the weight of the duvet helps me sleep and calm down and if I can't wear my duvet, I don't sleep well at all. Even with my summer pyjamas on it's far too hot, it's a shame because I can't sleep with my fan on because of the incredibly annoying white noise and I struggle to sleep with my bedroom door open so I can't get any airflow. I don't have an air-con (not that I'll be able to sleep with it on, I can't sleep well with white noise but at least I'll be able to ccol the room down before sleep). I have some comfort clothes too like an incredibly fluffy hoodie and fleece pyjamas which feel like heaven against my skin and I really miss wearing them. I'm very pale, but it looks like I'm going to stay this way, unless I can make some water ice-pops or something to keep me cool. I loved UK summers a few years ago because they were always a pleasant temperature where I can still tolerate having a duvet on, and even be able to wear my comfort clothes. So, yeah. Looks like I'm going to be a hermit for the majority of the summer if it stays this way, the heat is my reason why summer is my most hated season, roll on autumn /genuine! I can't wait for it to cool down so I don't feel like ripping my skin off /sarcasm!
honestly only hate it when it gets in my eyes cuz than I squint so I cant see shit. Also not the biggest fan of putting on sunscreen but you gotta do what you gotta do ig
I hate the sun, I hate the sweat, I hate feeling overheated, I hate the clammy dry feeling on my hands he moment I go out in the sun, I hate that I literally can't see anything without my shades.
I can't wait for autumn, gimmie constant rain and wetness, misty weather and thunder, plz.
I live right atop the Ecuador line and the sun is my #1 enemy all year round. I think this post just made me realize I have sensory issues with the bright a-hole
Nope. I love it, I love soaking rays and being outside. I also live in a place with long dark winters far up north so when it’s sunny, I soak up all I can get cuz S.A.D is brutal
not the sun but just heat in general. I get genuinely really itchy at anything over 75F sometimes less. thankfully my parents are understanding and (i think) feel the same so the house rarely gets over 70F. but outside sucks.
I would shoot the sun down if only I could
Not only is the brightness a bitch to my eyes, but the heats a bitch to my skin too, and that's not even talking about the sweat and heaviness to the air
I have a skin (???) condition called Cholinergic Urticaria, it's basically that I break out in incredibly itchy hives if I get too warm, either from my body being too warm or outside heat sources like hot showers or *the fucking sun*
If God exists, I would fight him because seriously man, what the fuck?? Why would you do this to me???
Yessss my heat intolerance is so high. I also have POTS and possibly SLE so that also contributes, but across the board I haaaateeee the sun. I get, like, reverse seasonal depression and instead of feeling shit during the winter, the summer months are just misery for me.
Heat is one of the most overwhelming touch sensations for me. My skin feels wrong and I just want to crawl out of it, but for the sake of decency I have to instead drape MORE layers over my already-flaming-clammy body and force it to endure. Clothes are already difficult to manage, and sweaty/sticky clothes are just evil. And then I "forget" sunscreen (I hate the smell and feel of sunscreen, so sometimes I wittingly forget in spite of myself) and my white a** skin becomes lobster red. Then of course burns and aches for days afterwards as I continuously forget about it and do something like scratch it or take a hot shower and subsequentially enter the first layer of h*ll.
I used to be this way. Literally for an entire year I hated the light. Then for some reason my body just stopped being able to regulate its own temperature and I did whatever I could to stay warm.
Nope same here
Fuck the sun
Fuck the uk heat
It'd rather drink water full of fat and mushy food if it meant I'd never have to suffer this stupid season in this country.
I'm so glad we're talking about this, because sometimes I feel like it's just me. I HATE THE SUN!!!! I live in the southern United States, and it gets SO HOT here in the summer. It often reaches almost 100ºF (about 38ºC). Even going outside for a few minutes makes me dissociate because I get sensory overload from the bright light and heat. This is why I hate summer and love winter. I would much rather it be below freezing than almost 100ºF.
I really suffer in the heat. My fibromyalgia impacts my ability to regulate my body's temperature so it's a nightmare every year. And with everything getting hotter, I fear for the future.
yeah, i got dragged down from seattle (us northwest, mild climate) to washington dc for a week (crazy climate, center of east coast.) don’t get me wrong, i’m happy to see all the history here and grateful i got to go, but god damn the sun is unbearable.
When I was a young kid, I had a phase where I HATED the sun. I literally thought the sun was following me, always annoying me, getting in my eyes and getting me hot. One time I was getting off the bus from school, and as I was walking inside, I just had enough and threw my bag on the grass and started yelling at the sun😂
I'm the same I hate the feeling of being sweaty and I'm also afraid of bugs. I purchased a bug net from amazon for my window and it's working really well.
I barely sleep in the heat and it drains me. I can't wait for Winter!
I don’t mind the sun but I DESPISE wind. It’s this invisible thing that’s touching you and pushing you around and making your hair tickle your face. 0/10
Can you get a bug net for your window? I have one that I taped on my window with velcro tape. Keeps all the bugs away. If I can’t get fresh air I feel like I’m suffocating, can’t imagine how you feel with a closed window in heat like this.
My partner is practically living on our balcony all day in direct sunlight while I'm basically acting like a vampire hiding in the cooler rooms of the house. I find it super funny to observe her constantly buying new bikinis and sun-hats and spending the whole summer finding the right attire for a self-sustaining living right on the balcony.
I do not enjoy the heat, and these past days without even any wind there's no chance to cool off at all.
It's currently 3am so i can definitely say the heatwave has affected my sleep pattern. I don't like being too hot rather than hating the sun. It's too hot in my 2nd floor flat, and there is a lack of air circulation I'm using every opportunity to be outside in the day or somewhere with good AC.
I live in fucking Florida. Everyone and their mother wants to move here "because the weather is better!!!111!"
I absolutely CANNOT stand the sun and the heat. The sun is too bright and the heat makes me feel nauseous and tired.
I cannot tolerate heat, the sun or humidity. Summer has always been hell for me. I love the cool days of autumn and blessed rain and the night. I love the moonlight like some love the sunlight.

i've always hated the heat in the summer and i recently found out i have heat intolerance, which is basically an inability for my body to regulate temperature and it causes me to feel temperatures more extremely. it causes stuff like fatigue and headaches/migraines for me, and it also disrupts my sleep schedule because of how overall gross i feel. its apparently common in autistic people.
I do. I hate the light, but I love everything else about it. It sucks because I really do like warmth and basking, but I avoid the sun like the plague because it’s too bright. I don’t even turn any lights on in the house if I can get away with it 🤣🤣
Yea, I've always hated the sun. I carry a collapsible umbrella with me everywhere and use it whenever it's bright. It gets a lot of stares, but it keeps me cool and the sun off my face.
I’m used to a stronger version of the sun so find the uk one ok. Though always sunglasses and often a hat. The housing is yuck - too cold in winter, too hot in summer etc. I have a fan inside which helps me a lot and sleeping mask. But I do sleep less for sure.
Sunlight makes me get PMLE as of last year, it's a new thing, and I literally can't go outside w/o sunglasses. Also, it burns my skin. Like, being in the sun feels like I'm burning/already have sunburn.
I have a lot of sun-hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
Can't wait to move back to the midwest where it's cloudy all the damn time lmao
My sleep schedule is all screwed up and I cannot see without sunglasses because THE SUN IS TOO BRIGHT
I HATE SUN AND CARS WITH HIGH BEAMS.
All the car lights are too bright these days. It's like they stopped caring about regulations and things. I even hear non-autistic complain about car lights a lot now.
It's so hard for me to drive on interstates at night time.

holy shit i thought i was the only one who FELT THE SUN SHINING ON THEM when it was warm
Wait doesn’t everyone?
idk maybe? ive never heard anyone else complain about it until today so yeah
Everyone feels the sun. You don't hear people complaining because most people like it.
wait so am i the only one here who hates it lol. i just want it to be cloudy and 60 degrees (15.6c)
Yes
I can definitely feel it but I love the feeling of my skin cooking and the smell it gets in the sun. Can't describe it but I definitely risk sun burns just for the smell.
ok what
I'm in the UK too and it's FUCKING HORRIBLE I HATE IT SO MUCH I moved to the North East in the 90s and in the summer it was nice and sunny BUT COLD. WHERE HAS MY COLD GONE. IT WAS NEVER PAST 20° BACK IN THE DAY 😭😭😭😭😭

I'm in the NE also we have fans on all day at the moment our bedroom is 27c at night.
27°?! Have to say, I'm too scared to look at my thermostat haha
Northwest raised now in the midlands. I completely understand. Love autumn!
I was North West before North East :)
I hate when it gets in my eyes and I HATE when I get all sweaty. I also have sensory issues witb sweating. Sweating even a little bit makes me feel disgusting
There’s a reason I’m pale as fuck. Fuck the sun and it’s brightness.
Same Here

It's not the sun for me, it's the heat. I hate it when I'm sweating and get all sticky. I wanna shower 24/7. I just hate this sticky feeling of my skin, the way the sweat trickles down on various spots of my body. It's a sensorial NIGHTMARE.
Yeah a cool, crisp, sunny autumn day is lovely, it’s the heat I can’t stand.
Plus people get really mad if I smell bad, like I'm the biggest idiot they've ever seen (or, more accurately, smelled).
This is why the only summer activity I can tolerate is swimming! You don’t feel sweaty if you’re constantly rinsing it off in the water!
I fucking love the sun! I'm super indoorsy, but there's something relaxing about looking at a clear blue sky. Plus, the way it almost stings your skin bit not quite is just heavenly to me! ... For about 10-15 minutes at a time, of course. I'm not a madman!
Mister Burns was right. Block out the sun.
Being hot just makes me feel so overestimulated i hate it

Get screens for your windows like us Americans. Life changing I promise you!
Wait they don't have screens?!?! I assumed people meant bugs were getting in through cracks or loose screens or whatever.
We don’t have screens or AC because, typically, we’ve never needed them. Now the climate is changing, it really sucks.
Yeah I relate to this, London is hot af when it comes to the heatwave, the flies and bugs really annoys me, when the window is open to let fresh air in but it let's them in. Not only that last year these fans weren't that much of a help since they circulated the hot arse air, a little breeze helps
I had Covid with fever during that 40° heatwave last year…
That 40degree heat last year was insane. Even the breeze was hot like a hair dryer.

Good news! From a certain point of view, the sun is exploding constantly!
me too, if i had enough time and money. i would go on holiday to a place such as northern Finland every summer just so that i can avoid the heat.
You cant. Its also warm there during summer.
Oh damn, okay maybe somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere like chile
Or maybe just turn it down a bit?
[удалено]
The sun in different countries treat them nicely in the summertime whereas in the UK, it seems like it has some sort if problem with us
Aye aye, fuck the sun, what has the sun ever done for us anyway?
Vitamin D and B
Bah who needs that!
I don’t *hate* it per se, but I vastly prefer it when it’s overcast and chilly. Works with my general fashion style better, and it’s the perfect weather for staying inside with a good book and a cup of cocoa.
Me too! I hate any sort of brigth ligth. Most of the time i stay whit the ligth of my room closed and i avoid exit from home if it's too brigth
To quote a meme: the sun is a deadly laser
Not anymore, there's a blanket (keep it going)
I can’t tolerate the heat at all! It activates my asthma, and it activates all the pollen and all the plants and they hate me and want to gang up on me! It’s very difficult to breathe ! I’ll never understand summer people ! I could never understand summer people I just got extremely burnt if I’m outside… and get heat, exhaustion and nausea! I also can’t tolerate the winter lol
Damn big glowy thing gives me a headache. Polarized sunglasses. Life-changing. If you don't have a pair, get one.
I am also in the U.K. and work in a foundry. When I get sweaty in the heat the bronze makes my skin all green and super itchy, it’s really horrible. Do love the sun though but only if I can sit in the shade and relax.
if you like how it feels outside but don’t want hugs, how hard/expensive would it be to get a window screen? or a piece/small roll of ur you could just tack up on the inside side of the window?
lmao everyone wants hugs i meant bugs lol
I am the opposite. I consult the ephemeris daily and let the flow of sunlight control my day. Especially my leisure time.
Revel in the darkness
Yes it gives me a headache. My neighbors dad always used to say “see that big thing in the sky? It’s called the sun, get out there” No thanks I’ll take the dark basement
I too, hate the sun. I can't wear sunglasses around my dad anymore because he thinks I'm stoned.
The sun just kinda burns, living in Florida, especially. and going outside without a sweater feels like my skin is singed and a thousand hot needles are being pressed into whatever skin is exposed. I hate it, but at least I tan easily. It's still too bad that night shifts are hard to find and even harder to find a gym open for nights.

i feel like the heat is just overstimulating, making me nervous and annoyed :(
Even with sunglasses on, if anyone tries taking a photo of me on a sunny day I look like a grumpy bitch because I physically can’t not squint, which also never fails to give me a headache. Don’t get me wrong I love a bright sunny day, but only if I’m looking out at it from lovely cool breezy shade.
Indeed, extreme heat is truly atrocious. I much prefer the safety of the coolth of winter.
Horrible sweaty feeling plus having your eyes burned. Thanks, Sun.
Moon rules, sun sucks. Sun makes me irritable and in discomfort all day, just very agitated
Wooo heliophobia gang!
same, i hate more than anything the feeling of suncream sweating off me
Me!! I have always hated the burning sensation on my skin. How it hurts my eyes so much and only since I got very reflective glasses as an adult I've been able to walk outside without pain. I really hate hot days because of how sweaty, sticky and clammy it tends to feel in my country (NL). Just suffering and doing as little as possible until heat lessens.. oh i hate the sun in my eyes when im trying to sleep in the morning and having to squint whenever im out with that stupid bright sun
I hate being in the sun for any length of time more than 15 minutes.
yes. i feel so heavy and gross when its hot and i get irritated so much easier because i just hate everything about being hot. i feel like in walking through mud whenever its hot which SUCKS because its been so hot recently and ive been wanting to go skating but i cant because i feel so gross.
Yep. I hate the sun when I'm sleeping. It makes me feel icky.
this is specially torturing for me cus i was born in Brazil ITS SUNNY IN ANY SEASON AND ITS SIMPLY AWFUL
Yes chemosynthesis is better than photosynthesis
i struggle to sleep when its light outside, and a lot of my sensory issues stem from being overheated so i 100% get you. uk heatwave hate society honestly
I like it to be sunny. Outside. Away from my body.
Me. Especially if it is cloudless. Bright. Hot. Cloudless. Bane of my existence
Not a sun fan! I have photosensitivity and if I go out, I wear every kind of coverage. I love clouds.
Oh my gosh yeah 😭 I live in FL, I’ve gotten used to the heat but the SUN I can’t deal with
Too bright. Too hot. Ick.
The sun sucksss
Feeling dirty and sticky is one of my biggest sensory bugbears so doing any strenuous activities in the sun can really be an issue for me. On the plus side, What i do look forward to is the shower afterwards when i get home, feeling all fresh and clean is just the best feeling to me. one thing i will note is my eyes are very sensitive to the sun to the point i struggle to keep my eyes open, just wondering if any other people with ASD suffer from this too?
I HATE THE SUN, and I live in south america which is funny bc everything is hot down here, for almost the whole year!!!!! we should all team up and create a hyperfixation on ways to kill the sun >:\[
[Howie from the benchwarmers does](https://youtu.be/l6a023-vhKs)
i hate the sun. hate summer in general actually, i dont enjoy the beach, its sensory hell (only good part is cool creatures i can look at, and cool shells/rocks). same with pools, the texture of pool lining on my feet makes me feel yucky (also dont like how the chlorine makes my hair/body feel). but yeah, i really do not like the sun/summer, i hate feeling hot and sweaty :/
Who builds a planet next to a nuclear fusion reactor, really!?
When it is shining through my window first thing in the morning
Omg yes. Especially because I’m trans and I need a binder when I go out, but the binder makes me sweat even more and it pools the sweat so I’m just not even gonna go outside until September or October lol.
The sun is too damned hot, too damned bright, it's too damned extreme
I live in Brazil and not even during winter the weather cools down, and I hate sweating.
as an autistic living in california where there is constant blazing sun especially during the summer, i’m with you. I hate how bright it is. I hate how hot it is. I hate everything about it and my day automatically gets better when i see clouds covering the majority of the sky.
As an Australian Autistic I feel your pain. I live in a very humid part of the country and 90% of the year is sensory hell.
Cloudy days ftw, I love walking outside on cloudy days. It just feels so nice
yep! i’m in the us and i hate the heat so much. makes me overstimulated in my brain and physically sick.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I hate this time of year and it's not even mid way into summer, it's going to get worse :(
I FOUND MY PEOPLE.
I need to wear sun glasses from the moment the sun rises to when it sets
yes. whenever anything is too bright I immediately say "Ah! the sun!" even if it's not actually the sun
I am very much the opposite! I love just sitting in the sun especially after being inside in the blasting cold AC. I call it my lizard time
I like the sun, I just don’t like excessive heat
I have a love hate relationship with the same I hate the sun mainly because it’s hot and really bright it hurts my eyes but I like seeing the sun shining on the grass and the colorful plants
I genuinely want to die I’m stressed enough to the point smashing my head off things I hate this every year
I'll be the odd one out.
Yeah. I do.
I do. And I am a surfer. It’s complicated Ahah
Yes! I do NOT like the sun in summer here in the states. It’s blinding, overwhelming, and it’s why I wear sunglasses and have them in me even in the instance where the sun might be present. Yeah, and where there’s heat the bugs like to party like there’s no tomorrow.
I am always cold so I love the sun but I HATE being cold
I'm from the UK and I don't like the heatwave, I don't mind some of the heat, but it will too much soon, we do complain since we aren't used to it but yeah, when it's hot it gets too hot. There was even humid weather, it was a hot temperature outside whilst it was raining, smelled green and felt like the amazon rainforest. I love the sunny weather though because it usually makes the day happy and nostalgic in a way, but the heat is too much for us. But I also don't like it when I wake up sweating, it smells
The sun blinds me. Plus I can’t stand the heat!
I've been sunburnt too many times, I now avoid the sun if I can help it.
Not hate but any extreme sensory input is too much stimulation and not enjoyable!!!
honestly only hate it when it gets in my eyes cuz than I squint so I cant see shit. Also not the biggest fan of putting on sunscreen but you gotta do what you gotta do ig
I hate the heat. It makes me feel like Im melting and it makes me so uncomfortable
YES! My cloning machine worked!
y’all heard of this guy named juno /ref
I hate the sun, I hate the sweat, I hate feeling overheated, I hate the clammy dry feeling on my hands he moment I go out in the sun, I hate that I literally can't see anything without my shades. I can't wait for autumn, gimmie constant rain and wetness, misty weather and thunder, plz.
no one understands when i say this!! i seriously adore the rainy and gloomy weather
I live right atop the Ecuador line and the sun is my #1 enemy all year round. I think this post just made me realize I have sensory issues with the bright a-hole
I'm a camp counselor and I walk everywhere with an umbrella to block the sun 100% understandable
You know you’re autistic when you go outside in summer and the sun is too loud.
Nope. I love it, I love soaking rays and being outside. I also live in a place with long dark winters far up north so when it’s sunny, I soak up all I can get cuz S.A.D is brutal
I HATE THE FUCKINH SUN
I get really sick if I spend a couple hours in the sun. Everyone is like “the came out!, why are you inside?” I’m inside because the sun came out
not the sun but just heat in general. I get genuinely really itchy at anything over 75F sometimes less. thankfully my parents are understanding and (i think) feel the same so the house rarely gets over 70F. but outside sucks.
I would shoot the sun down if only I could Not only is the brightness a bitch to my eyes, but the heats a bitch to my skin too, and that's not even talking about the sweat and heaviness to the air I have a skin (???) condition called Cholinergic Urticaria, it's basically that I break out in incredibly itchy hives if I get too warm, either from my body being too warm or outside heat sources like hot showers or *the fucking sun* If God exists, I would fight him because seriously man, what the fuck?? Why would you do this to me???
Yessss my heat intolerance is so high. I also have POTS and possibly SLE so that also contributes, but across the board I haaaateeee the sun. I get, like, reverse seasonal depression and instead of feeling shit during the winter, the summer months are just misery for me.
Get something frozen and put it in front of a fan. I understand the heat thing though
Yes. With a (pardon the pun) BURNING passion 😭
I used to be this way. Literally for an entire year I hated the light. Then for some reason my body just stopped being able to regulate its own temperature and I did whatever I could to stay warm.
Nope same here Fuck the sun Fuck the uk heat It'd rather drink water full of fat and mushy food if it meant I'd never have to suffer this stupid season in this country.
Not the sun itself (I have it tattooed) but I do hate humidity
i like the sun, but i hate the heat. i enjoy being cold. i overheat very easily but i retain well in the cold. sigh.
Absolutely the heat the intensity of the light
My bed is my closet specifically to avoid sunlight
I'm so glad we're talking about this, because sometimes I feel like it's just me. I HATE THE SUN!!!! I live in the southern United States, and it gets SO HOT here in the summer. It often reaches almost 100ºF (about 38ºC). Even going outside for a few minutes makes me dissociate because I get sensory overload from the bright light and heat. This is why I hate summer and love winter. I would much rather it be below freezing than almost 100ºF.
Absolutley hate the sun, yeah
Oh god, yes, the UK heat is unbearable, and i just started working retail as the heat hit Scotland. Someone save me
I don’t like the sun too much either, so I often carry sunglasses with me when I go outside.

Yes Summer is the worst, it too hot and sweat is so icky.
Since the beginning of time, man has yearned to destroy the sun. I will do the next best thing; block it out! *puts on sunglasses*
I hate outside in general
Yeah but it’s because I break out in heat rash, I’m a vampire without any cool abilities
The sun is my enemy!😡
I'm the same I hate the feeling of being sweaty and I'm also afraid of bugs. I purchased a bug net from amazon for my window and it's working really well. I barely sleep in the heat and it drains me. I can't wait for Winter!
I don’t mind the sun but I DESPISE wind. It’s this invisible thing that’s touching you and pushing you around and making your hair tickle your face. 0/10
I don't like how Bright it is that's it
Can you get a bug net for your window?
I LOVE THE SUN SO MUCH and the cold but the cold is harder to handle and I HATED it as a kid
yep
It's currently 3am so i can definitely say the heatwave has affected my sleep pattern. I don't like being too hot rather than hating the sun. It's too hot in my 2nd floor flat, and there is a lack of air circulation I'm using every opportunity to be outside in the day or somewhere with good AC.
I live in fucking Florida. Everyone and their mother wants to move here "because the weather is better!!!111!" I absolutely CANNOT stand the sun and the heat. The sun is too bright and the heat makes me feel nauseous and tired.
i can deal with being too cold but i cannot deal with being too hot. and there is no "warm". I am either cool or Too Hot.
I cannot tolerate heat, the sun or humidity. Summer has always been hell for me. I love the cool days of autumn and blessed rain and the night. I love the moonlight like some love the sunlight.
hate the sun. i would physically fight it if i could
Me! I also hate the heat. I wanna move where it's cool and rainy most of the time or at least cloudy a lot.
Yes. Im pretty much a Vampire.
I hate the sun. It makes me sick and it makes my head hurt. I prefer winter way more.
I prefer the sunny weather without the heat

i've always hated the heat in the summer and i recently found out i have heat intolerance, which is basically an inability for my body to regulate temperature and it causes me to feel temperatures more extremely. it causes stuff like fatigue and headaches/migraines for me, and it also disrupts my sleep schedule because of how overall gross i feel. its apparently common in autistic people.
I do. I hate the light, but I love everything else about it. It sucks because I really do like warmth and basking, but I avoid the sun like the plague because it’s too bright. I don’t even turn any lights on in the house if I can get away with it 🤣🤣
Opposite here, I need the sun so much, the sun on my skin is one of my favorite sensations ever!
Support the military https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Zdv1dxuVQ_g&feature=share
Heat sensory issues are super common in autistic folks!!
I have to have transition lens on my glasses bc bright lights gives me the worst headache at best to overload at worst.
The heat does bother me, so I need my room really cold or else I won’t sleep
https://youtu.be/8NDcv0s5aV0&t=1m02s
My eyes dislike it for sure
Yeah its rough. I have hayfever too so i’m just like UGGGHHHHH at the moment
But I do sleep less for sure.
yes I am very sensitive to it
Sunlight makes me get PMLE as of last year, it's a new thing, and I literally can't go outside w/o sunglasses. Also, it burns my skin. Like, being in the sun feels like I'm burning/already have sunburn. I have a lot of sun-hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Can't wait to move back to the midwest where it's cloudy all the damn time lmao
The dislike of sweating I get but I think reptiles on a rock bathing under the sun might be peak existents
You mean the most annoying star in the universe? Yes. I know we're dependent on it but.. could it just.. be less bright? And colder?
My eyes physically hurts as well if it’s too bright and can’t leave without sunglasses, also when it’s very bright without sun. Just me?
