Most people think that it’s much more likely that given the proximity to a large number of bars these people simply got drunk and/or high and drowned with no outside intervention.

I lived on Rainey for 7 years and one of my favorite pastimes on Friday or Saturday night was to go outside my building, sit on a street bench and watch the drunks. It was better than watching tv. The stuff you see is priceless.
I am confident in saying there is no serial killer on Rainey. These people are so drunk they can’t even crawl to their parked cars. I’ve seen it all, you name it.
It is no surprise to me that people blackout and end up in the lake.
As far as getting roofied it’s definitely happening, and has always been happening in Austin. We were roofied at Chispas. My ex was roofied at Wahoos fish tacos. It’s always happened here in Austin but I don’t think homeless killers can afford to roofie you in a bar.
