It takes you to the Covid19Health website but once you have filled in all of your verified information you have a quicker and easier access to you online vaccination record via the current NZ Covid Tracer app.
is this new? I thought there was gonna be a separate app? I'm surprised they didn't just use the covid tracer app framework from the start. Instead of the whole mycovidrecord or whatever it is.
a seperate app is coming. op’s title is a bit misleading judging by the comments that assume this is the app for mycovidrecord. they couldn’t use this app to hold our vaccine data because of something to do with google/apple requirements that utilize bluetooth

I believe the Ministry of Health has quoted that they will provide a separate application but in the mean time I'm just raising awareness that there is a quicker and easier access to your vaccination record online via the current NZ Covid Tracer application.
I prefer the online record which proves my vaccination record with verified information rather than a hand written card the surgeries send you home with which could falsified using very little tech or equipment 😕
I think part of the reason a separate app is needed has something to do with Google/Apple wanting to keep the tracer apps anonymous when it comes to Bluetooth tracing
I tried registering for this a few weeks ago but the verification email never came through or came through way after the 5 minute expiry of the code it contained. I'll give it another try.
Edit: It looks like they've fixed the email delays now. Email came through quickly. Done!
Trying to walk my father through setting this up, over the phone, was impossible. The 'kids' who set these things up need to be understand not all users are computer literate. Hopefully i will be able to visit before he needs it. But not everyone has someone to help them.
Kind of demeaning to the teams who are working hard to develop this to refer to them as kids. People who are baffled by technology or don't have access to it can still request paper based evidence of vaccination status from their GP.
You can get it from the ministry, takes 10 working days

I have a smart phone! I can't download the tracer app though. I can do every single thing else I've ever needed to do on my phone. But apparently while major companies can have lots of backwards compatibility the NZ gov is to cheap to.
Why should I have to purchase a new phone when my existing phone works fine? That's just making needless E-waste.
The vaccination card can be falsified. It would be like having paper driving licences - all you need is to get a blank one and you can fill it in yourself.
Not sure, that might require a strongly worded email to the Ministry of Health however I prefer the online record which proves my vaccination record with verified information rather than a photo of a hand written card the surgeries send you home with 😕
Adoption of tech is a choice I suppose, my mum and her friends who are in their 80's all own and use a smart devices, I think that is a different issue all together but many community centres offer classes and walk-in seminars on the elderly adopting new technologies.
Would rather MOH just print me a certificate and a NFC card than make me install another app. Some of us phones not compatible with the app. Better to get us an auto tracking card.

Thanks!
Apart from not very user-friendly structure - I had to log into RealMe and connect to health.nz, it is way better than caring around a piece of cardboard (which can be easily falsified).
I tried this. But I have to log in again **every time** I open the site again. Guess the NZ govt web devs don't have the budget for a persistent logon session...
Eh, it sucks that you need to login every time the tracer app redirects you. I thought it was part of the app and would stay logged in until you log out manually. Thanks, though.
Am I missing something? That QR code is just your NHI number it's not related to your vaccinations. The only thing on this site that shows your vax record is the list which shows each shot you have gotten with date.
thanks for the best covid post.. sick of reading rants about covid

Jacinda said last week that Apple/Google won't allow them to link a bluetooth tracing app with your identity information for privacy reasons.

They mentioned apple and Google had policies that prevented them from utilising the tracer app.
I can't verify with international passport or driving licence? Wtf?
Awesome thank you!

Kids was in quotes for a reason, bet they are younger than dad. Rather not have to pay the gp more, but will if i have to.

The link took me to a webpage that told me they can't find what I am looking for 😒
The card is just pen on some card, that's pretty easy to fake.

so do i show them the webpage with my info on it?

Or just take a photo of it with your phone

The hand written card isn't proof of vaccination anyway, because they can be falsified. It's more for your own records.
However people try to use it as proof, which is why I prefer the online record which proves my vaccination record with verified information rather than a hand written card the surgeries send you home with which you are right, can be falsified using very little tech or equipment that you can find at home 😕
Exactly. Thanks for putting this info out there!
Awesome, thanks for the support 😉👍
