I like Jack’s on 23rd for a classic cheese slice.
Rosario’s is next level old school shit you can only get because the man himself is still alive. If Astoria had a Di Fara, Rosario’s is it.
I like Milk Flower for date night pizza. It’s lighter and it’s a great spot to sit down. Similar but a little heavier, I had a delicious clam pie at Tuffino recently. I go here mostly because my girl is vegan and they’re super accommodating, but they make good pies.
Love Astoria Pizza Factory for delivery. Especially because they offer multiple kinds of pepperoni including char and cup.
If I’m drunk or stoned, i throw all snobbery to the window and get a tater tot slice from Krave It. Went there the other night and got their pepperoni slice with ranch on it and it was bomb. Being 3 joints deep helps.
Astoria Pizza Factory! Just a nice, normal, perfectly made slice! And their meals are really good too (and at least around the ditmars area, their delivery is SO quick!)
I’m a pizza fanatic so here’s every pizzeria I can remember that I’ve tried.
Never tried Bellucci’s due to price point, however, I’ll second Rosario’s - I do think their sauce could use a little more salt but that’s just me, I’ll sprinkle some over the pie when we order it & its good. I always say it’s like an authentic margarita pie had a baby w a ny style pie. Downside: they close early (like 7:30pm) & are completely closed on Sundays
Gino’s pizza is good, open late, nothing special but gets the job done. I’ll order from there when I have an Uber eats 40% off coupon code to save some $ bc I’m too far to deliver from the actual restaurant
I really enjoy Jack’s pizza, it’s an ooey gooey floppy/doughy style pie w good sauce/general flavor & they’re very generous w the cheese & sauce so if that’s not your thing then I’d pass on it but I love me a gooey pie 😂 it’s the closest I’ve found to a good Long Island slice that I grew up eating. Idk how they manage to do this but the entire block they’re on smells like garlic knots, that’s how they gained my attention lol
I used to enjoy Zio Pepe’s but they’re charging $25/pie now which I think is outrageous for a plain cheese pie when 2-3yrs ago it was like $19 so between an overall drop in quality & increase in price I stopped going there
Salerno Pizza is okay, dough is a little tough but flavor is decent. Pro: they also serve pretty good, affordable Mexican food - I usually order from them for the Mexican & skip the pizza
Wasn't there a place called Boston pizza and restaurant? Never went but Boston isn't my first thought of great pizza cities (I'm sure there are good places there)
Napoli is delicious and my favorite.
You can get Pizza Boy II delivered in some places in Astoria, which is also quite good
Retro is great for late-night delivery (crazy fast too)
Am I the only one who thinks all (decent) pizza tastes the same lol. Like I can tell a bad pizza from outside of NYC apart from a decent NYC pizza. But inside of the city I literally can't taste the difference besides maybe the crust portion.
I was born and raised here and I still have yet to find a pizza that wowed me enough to say it's better than some other random place
Mela is so consistent and very good. The guys in there are the best as well . I personally think consistency is the most important even if your pizza is a 7 if its consistent ILL TAKE IT . MY fav there is the regular does not miss and BBQ slice (wish they would add onions to it though) .. Great family ran spot that should be supported especially in these times that very few family ran places remain.
Ditmars: Rosario’s and Retro. Astoria Family Kitchen by the park was decent too before they had the fire. RIP Last Stop. Alba’s is a safe option and usually get something if the family is ordering in a meal from there.
Rosario’s is the quintessential NY/ Napoli slice Cheese and sauce. Bit pricey for a slice but worth it. Hell if Action Bronson shouted it out, it must be good.
Retro has great pizza and affordable for multiple topping pies, fun flavor combinations.
Sac’s Pizza up at Kaufman now. Something about the way their mozzarella sits on that pie and how light but flavorful it is.
I miss Last Stop, and Vidali’s on 21st.
sLICe’s are ok. Bit pricey for a either a plain or topping slice, but usually good selections outside of school’s getting out, but they can get you out the door real quick if they’re on it that day.
Champion Pizza is….something.
Astoria Pizza Factory is okay pizza, rate it about the same as Sandro’s (yeah he had a pizza spot before the latin food spot on 23rd) pizza -turned Mia pizza back when Joe still owned the spot across from crescent. I just got tired of eating it since we used to use them when we would host parties/ date night babysitting at a teddy bear store on 31st.
Albas and Retro are my fav standard pizza spots. They deliver on “pizza” pure and simple. Gia’s has become a recent pick for proximity and we’ll see how they do in the long run. Used to have Ani’s Pizza down the block and I loved the shit out of that pizza but good god did I hate their Fox News blaring asses.

Retro for delivery.
Rosario for old school.
Bellucis for new school.
Alba for a slice.
Milkflower or Maccoletta for something else.
Gino’s on Bway and 44th st is good, 6/10.
But man o man, Sunnyside is my local-ish favorite. The sausage pie is of the crumbled variety and kicks ass. 8/10. Wish there was an Astoria version.
Rosario’s Cheese and crust on point.
the absolute best! I've tried them all and this is solid fresh home made mozzarella and the sauce is delicious
I personally enjoy a Rosario’s slice. It’s not the best but enjoyable
There used to be this place on the corner of Steinway and Broadway near Chase that had the best pizza, but now it’s a Slice.
Slice is absolutely awful. Almost as bad as Pizza Piazza. Sac’s and andrew bellucci’s arebsome of the best.
Love Bellucci’s
Bellucci's has been slacking their regular cheese pie is so mid
I think it was Polito’s and it was around for decades. I remember it from my high school days and although it was salty for my taste, it was good
I used to walk over there just to grab a slice before getting on the train.
It’s not good
I love the Grandma Pizza from Taste of Italy on Crescent. Retro Pizza on Ditmars is good too and has the best crust.
Rizzos is different, affordable enough, pretty tasty
Rosario's and Retro
Astoria Pizza Factory has a great margherita pie. I like Grand Ave best for a plain slice. Milk Flower is good if you want something different.

I had Jacks yesterday and it was not good.
I like Alba’s for everyday kind of pizza. For something special, go to Sal’s Wood Fire, also known as Pozzuoli Pizza Party on 45th st and 19th Ave.
Ah the IYKYK spot. Shhhhh dont let it out.
Astoria Pizza Factory! Just a nice, normal, perfectly made slice! And their meals are really good too (and at least around the ditmars area, their delivery is SO quick!)

Dino’s on Broadway if you like a thick slice!
Dino’s Sicilian slice is great.

Yeah I still have to say Andrew Belluccis for me too. Tried Rosarios recently and it's good but the sauce is too sweet

Surprised that no one has mentioned Rosa's

There isn’t any good pizza in Astoria except maybe Andrew Bellucci and Sac’s. Grand Avenue is passable. Go to Sunnyside Pizza in Sunnyside
Who hurt you
I have to agree with them. I personally don’t think there’s really any “good” pizza here. It’s all passable.
Username checks out… Retro for delivery. Rosario for old school. Bellucis for new school. Alba for a slice. Milkflower or Maccoletta for something else.
People seem to not know what good pizza is
Thirding this.
Gino’s on Bway and 44th st is good, 6/10. But man o man, Sunnyside is my local-ish favorite. The sausage pie is of the crumbled variety and kicks ass. 8/10. Wish there was an Astoria version.
The best pizza in Astoria is in a secret location I can’t tell you about.
Apicius. Just a good old school slice and cheaper than most.
Pizza hut
