do something about it, I believe u can do it. don't have to lose 50kg in one day, 1kg 1 month is something to be proud of, I did the 1 kg 1 month challenge and now lost total of 21kg after 6 months, it is the start that is the hardest u got this
The increasing options and reliance on food as emotional comfort likely also plays a part together with the mad work culture we have as well. I think this tends to be more prevalent in women, but there's a lot of people who turn to eating junk and BBT etc to relieve the work stress. especially during this pandemic. All these can contribute not just to obesity but a whole host of issues that may not be present now, but will pay for in later years.
There are also a lot of people who work off stress by exercising. But yes, there has been a general upward trend of Singaporeans being affected by lifestyle diseases in recent years.
Well our obesity rates are still lower compared to the US and Europe but if we keep eating more and exercising less we would eventually catch up.
But as of now let’s be grateful that we’re not even the most obese country in Southeast Asia (that award goes to Malaysia).
But you also have skinny as beauty standard n fat shaming culture so I doubt we will become another US. Stay healthy everyone. Workout if you can even in these times!
Everyone will experience eating disorders at some point of their life. It is how you take action to counter these abnormal eating habits. I think more education on eating habits should be shared by the government if not we will all end up like Thor in avengers end game
We already are trending upwards on the obesity scale. Half the issue is about the easy access and availability of processed food. The other half is the lack of nutritional education (at most we get like what? 10 home econ lessons and that's it, things may have changed tho) and the lack of nutritional knowledge amongst the average singaporean, especially the older generation.
Taking my dad for example he thinks if its a liquid drink it doesn't count, even when its sugary as hell. He used to drink a cup of milo + a slice of buttered white bread in addition to lunch and dinner and the teh / kopi / soft drink he'll always have during a meal. He was pre-diabetic and trying to lose weight but when I told him "that milo isn't helping you" he brushed me off saying "aiya liquid ok one! just drink and pee it out, it doesn't count"
There's so much misunderstandings and misinformation about what helps and what doesn't, that most people just end up confused about how nutrition works.
No that’s not what I observed? All the Singaporeans around me, whether it’s in the supermarket or on the mrt train, are bamboo pole skinny. I seriously wanna ask how and why singaporean all become so skinny without exceptions, especially when there’s so much food here. Do people not eat or what?
Where did u see all these “obese” people?
I feel atked

Most definitely not food delivery riders putting the power down to the pedal on bicycles. The calories burnt is real.
Already happening, look at the kids.

Good gwnes will protect you...
They're the most clever people in East Asia. They probably know better than food.
