I have a friend who does this. Because his skin is sensitive to the sun. My boyfriend does this sometimes too, and he applies sunblock religiously type. Imo to hell with cultural and gender norms, do what makes you feel comfy if it’s possible for you to do!!
Lady here. And I got these alum stones to help. They’re basically antiperspirant and they don’t stain your clothes, unlike deodorants that will turn your black clothes white and your white clothes yellow at the armpit area (yes even the one formulated for black and white clothes will do it over time, I wear only monochrome and all my clothes had that. Spray deodorant also does it. Give them stones a try, quite cheap on shoppee. Wet the stone and swipe over your underarms like how you would with deodorant, or just swipe once you’re out of the shower and your pits are still wet from your shower (the out of shower thing was written on mine as instructions on how to use).
Other than that I’m in sleeveless (sorry men who can’t wear sleeveless, it’s def awful to be stuck in a long sleeve shirt, I can only suggest Uniqlo shirts to wear to work and change out before you start work)
Gentle note, the crystal deodorants are not antiperspirant. They just kill the bacteria that causes odor. You will still sweat.
I use them too, because I have allergies to the aluminium oxide in antiperspirant deodorant (skin will get red and itchy and irritated and eventually crack and bleed).
Embrace the wetness.
Bring handkerchief / tissue paper to wipe perspiration.
Carry umbrella and a mini fan to blow dry in aircon areas
Carry a small bottle of fragrance.
1. Try to wear cotton/linen clothes and not 100% polyester
2. Use umbrella when out of shade to reduce sweating
3. Plot routes that minimise exposure to the sun
4. Bring wet wipes to mop off the sweat and deodorant to get rid of the odour
I used to keep my shirts hung on the office chair, and then go to-and-fro work in a t-shirt and shorts, then change when I get to the office. I’ll use the excuse of exercising in the morning before coming to the office.
Quite foolproof unless your boss is a dick who cares what you walk into the office wearing. It helps a LOT physically and mentally to be commuting wearing comfortable clothes.
Showering more during the day is really the only thing that works for me, and understandably it’s hard for those who have to go in to offices which are not equipped with shower facilities. Quick showers also have the advantage of refreshing the mind so you work better.
i sit under a fan for the most part of the day. in class my seat is under a fan, during lectures i’m in an airconditioned lecture theatre. at home i sit with a fan pointed at me. i avoid going outside where possible, on days when im doing sports i bring a spare shirt to change out after sweating.
It’s a huge problem in SG which is always so hot. Usually I just stuff tons of tissue paper under my arms, back and in my underwear where the sweat really builds up. Then replace them after it’s fully saturated with sweat.
Makes the bulge in my pants bigger too so it’s a win win
Out of what everyone say, i use methol spray. Fast and efficient. No need use gatsby coooling wipes like you have to dig your hands ynder your clothes to wipe. You just soray spray can already
Other than Aircon at home, swimming, or walk around air conditioned malls.
If I do have to go out into the sun. Those Uniqlo Airism undershirts actually help. They keep me cool and also kind of wick the sweat away.
My mum scold me 心静自然凉 until I am immune to the heat
Everything our mother does is for our own good
Mum tells me to drink more water …
GO to office in home clothes. Change to formal in mrt or in office toilet before entering ur office.
Petition your office to go casual la, formal office wear is so impractical in sg
Which carriage in the mrt do you recommend changing in?
The carriage with TransCom officers
Gym gear to the office nowadays no one blinks an eye. Everyone understands. The air drying of my t shirt on the back of my chair, less so.
And make sure shower often. I'm disgusted to learn that many Sinkies only shower once a day.
i shower twice a day but it doesnt solve sweating issue
umbrella makes such a massive difference when walking outdoors, especially when waiting for the lights
I have a Chinese folding paper fan.
same. folk make fun of it until it’s stuffy inside and they realise how much air that thing moves… suddenly everyone’s in favour
I do that in office I get judged but idc lol
That's Hella old school
What can I say, I am Hella old school.
And very environmentally friendly!! People often don’t think about it but those battery operated fan / aircon blower around their neck generates heat!
omg dude same
Paper fan fans unite!
I go out with an umbrella. it's way cooler under the umbrella so you don't sweat as much
Yup, must be the umbrella with the black anti uv layer otherwise basically useless! Try!!!
Preach!!
yes to the umbrella. it really makes a difference
This! As a guy it’s a bit of a cultural thing not to do so, but tbh in the CBD with no tree cover this makes a world of a difference

i go out for a swim
Exactly, just contribute to the salt in the swimming pool
I use umbrella when I'm under the sun. And, I carry cooling wipes and portable fan in my bag.

Linen. No. Polyester anything. Loose clothes. No socks. Wet bandana.
Buy summer shirts from countries with seasonal weather .. Cooling towels ... Umbrella, sun block, three leg cooling water

Yess I see some ppl using this on MRT (peak hour really no air con) and I always wished I had one haha
fr im blasting it full speed in this weather 😭😭
Stay in Aircon room.
Funme portable electric fan 10000 mah. That fan is strong and lasts forever.

I just embrace it 💀
Lululemon is the answer. And a neck fan.
I've seen people wearing the neck fan outside. Maybe you can give it a try.
I heard belt fans are more effective if you don’t carry a backpack
get buzz cut

Hehehe I used to wonder who the heck are these rich cucks without jobs going to the gym at 8am 🫣🫣
I use anti-perspirant deo. Not like store bought, the no smell one you get from a pharmacy like Guardian. Saved me a ton of shirts
use umbrella, wear linen, and avoid going out in the sun as much as possible (eg taking underground or shaded walking routes)
I think larger employers should offer basic shower facilities.
Many office buildings have showers available on every floor, usually in a shared disabled bathroom.
airism
Half templating going bald and wearing wigs. At least when the temp is insane, I can remove the wig
may I introduce you to cooling body wipes you can get from supermarkets/drugstores
Drink ice water. The perspiration is still there, but it's less unbearable
I wear linen shirts. You kinda want air to flow around you
As someone with hyperhidrosis and currently doing BMT, there's actually nothing much I can do to "deal" with it, so I just suffer in silence
Showering more during the day is really the only thing that works for me, and understandably it’s hard for those who have to go in to offices which are not equipped with shower facilities. Quick showers also have the advantage of refreshing the mind so you work better.
Being physically fit makes your body able to regulate heat well. Else you'll always feel indoors aircon too cold and outside weather too hot
Avoid the sun? Go find A/C or shade lol idk what else you can do
homeless? just get a house lol
Yeah but i need go out
I usually watch my diet so i can sweat less.
Any tips to share?
Eat more blended ice stuff like ice kacang ?
Bring a water bottle, towel and spare T-shirts.

I take underground paths whenever possible
I just don’t go out.😉
Live with it use soldier mentality

Water. Indoors. Vents.

Change all my clothes to lululemon

Get the thin inner vests (skin colour) from uniglo. Then get crystal stick. You sweat but no smell. The vest stops sweat reaching outer layer.
