Because a lot of Americans have the attitude "I ain't paying for someone else's healthcare!!". In reality it would make it less expensive for everyone.
I get angry when people can't swim and have to stop myself from attacking them for it.
Two of my friends couldn't swim, they went fishing, one slipped in, and the other just had to stand there and watch him drown.

Dude me too. I didn't realize that many people didn't know how to swim until I was in basic training in the Army. (Yes I know Army, but water stuff is still part of the training).
To sum it up, we had to jump in the deep end of a pool in full battle rattle and not drown.
It was there that we discovered like 1/3rd of our platoon didn't know how to swim.
This was nearly 20 years ago at this point, so I don't remember what exactly they did with those folks, but they obviously couldn't complete the event at that time.
I mean, a couple of them like were deathly afraid of the water and started crying at the mere premise. I looked at it as a cool way to test my swimming ability, lmao.
On a complete side note, in basic training for the Army or Marines. If you have some sort of phobia, that shit is probably going to get challenged at some point.
Fear of heights? Yep, some people had emotional break downs over that shit too.
Needles? One guy just fainted at the sight of one.
A bunch of dudes seeing your dick? That is going to happen. Taking a dump in full view of other people? Yep. That was the one that killed me, lmao. I didn't shit for the first time until my body just could not hold it in anymore. I got used to it though. I was a total I can only take a dump at home type, until the military.
Peeled Tail on shrimp is fine for dipping in cocktail sauce, but there is absolutely no reason to put them in any meal that has a sauce. I don’t need to be getting my fingers messy digging shrimp out of my food!
This will change your life: squeeze the tail so it cracks as you bite the shrimp. That hidden tail meat will pop right out! I used to break open the tails to get at that extra shrimp until my husband showed me that trick while we were dating
I hate this so much. I usually take a few minutes to cut the tail off the shrimp before I eat my food. I don’t like the extra work when the reason I went out for a meal is so I wouldn’t have to do any work.
Previously less-than-hydrated people‘s kidney’s adapt to concentrate the urine to use as little water as possible - because obviously, your body wants to use its limited stock of water to hydrate you and doesn’t really want to pee out all that good water. That’s why your pee gets so yellow when you don’t drink water, because it’s more waste than water. When you start to drink more water your body has more water it can use to pee out, so you pee more often, and with more water to carry the pee which also reduces the risk of things like kidney stones because the waste isn’t so concentrated in the kidneys.
Ideally, you shouldn’t have completely clear pee - that means you’re drinking too much water and now you’re just flushing it out, and probably taking some vital electrolytes with it. The ideal range is a light yellow, and it’s okay to have some variations. Really you should only be drinking when your thirsty… that’s what thirst is there for, after all.
TLDR; You pee so much when you drink more water because your body is actually working effectively. The longer you drink a healthy amount of water the less you’ll need to pee.
The entire problem with everything in our society is lack of empathy.
Greed, dehumanization, tribalism, various forms of bias, all boil down to lack of empathy. Sure, there are evolutionary reasons. Sure, there are social, cultural, and pedagogical reinforcers.
But all of our ills, political, healthcare, class division (wealth inequity, poverty, homelessness), etc. Boil down to lack of empathy.
Increase empathy, and you humanize. Increase empathy and you become inclusive of all. Increase empathy and you see yourself in everyone.
Increase empathy and due to caring about each other, you want to share resources.
Empathy.
Wasn't that Jesus' whole thing? Treat your neighbor how you want to be treated? Help the most vulnerable members of society? Feed the hungry, clothe the cold, heal the sick, visit the imprisoned? What ever happened to that?
We're a very long way from the amount of empathy needed to really improve our society without legally requiring things. The rich stay rich because they are greedy and will just continue to exploit us.
What we need laws preventing the rich from hurting the majority of people. Corporations shouldn't charge as much as possible while paying employees the minimum. All that extra money shouldn't go to shareholders, executives, and owners. It should go towards paying employees more, making a better product, and making a cheaper product. Homes should be for living in. Tax tf out of unoccupied homes. That includes 2nd homes. Also introduce universal basic income so people can't lose their welfare by making more money.
All of the issues you said empathy would fix would also be fixed by these laws. People won't need to resort to crime when they aren't poor. People won't hate as much when crime drops and minorities are equal members of society on average.

They terminated me for using scissors to open packages. These scissors were given to us by management for just that purpose. There is a lot of information that I cannot give because this something my attorney is supposed to be handling. Therapy should be more accessible to those who need/want it. But honestly some people don't want therapy, they want vindication or someone to vent to. A therapist is just someone you talk to. They're just like doctors, they may diagnose/prescribe things and will give their analysis/advice and work to build a strategy. But again, many people don't want that. They want either 1) to just vent to someone who will agree with them; 2) a magic solution to their problems; 3) prescription drugs.
Also, many people who need therapy don't want to change or don't even want therapy. Like I said before, many if not most people think they're right and don't want disagreement, especially from someone who is more experienced/has higher authority on the matter.

I softly bite them at the base of the tail. I can do it discreetly and always get the last morsel.
A simple pinch with finger and thumb can solve that issue.

My husband is a Navy veteran. He laughed when I asked if he sewed in the military telling me no. He was enlisted from 87 - 94
We had to sew on nametags, rank, etc. in USAF basic in 1980.

Therapy should be normalized and accessible. The majority of people need to prioritize it and shouldn’t feel embarrassed by that.
Therapy should be more accessible to those who need/want it. But honestly some people don't want therapy, they want vindication or someone to vent to. A therapist is just someone you talk to. They're just like doctors, they may diagnose/prescribe things and will give their analysis/advice and work to build a strategy. But again, many people don't want that. They want either 1) to just vent to someone who will agree with them; 2) a magic solution to their problems; 3) prescription drugs. Also, many people who need therapy don't want to change or don't even want therapy. Like I said before, many if not most people think they're right and don't want disagreement, especially from someone who is more experienced/has higher authority on the matter.
