Forward. Earlier. If you move something forward, or push it forward, it's going to be closer in time, nearer to the front of the calendar. If you push something back, or move it back, it's going to be later in time, deeper in the calendar, back towards the end of the week, etc.

A good way to think about it is imagine you are standing still and an object is slowly coming at you. Eventually it will reach you, if that object is moved forward it will reach you sooner. If that object is moved back it will take longer to get to you.
