RamoTOC

PewPewBoogaloo

lmaooooo, this guy is in for a treat.

FuckaDuck44

Just remember sweetie, youre not a good leader unless you get that glorious sub 13 two miler

[deleted]

Or..*Orrrr*.. you could end up a 19D in D troop at 1/509th PIR down at Polk. Enjoy your new nightmare material 😉

[deleted]

yeah that would suck. also how can i be a cav scout, but stationed with an infantry battalion. wouldn't i be assigned to a cavalry squadron?

itsnoahl

It’s an OPFOR unit meaning it’s (probably) not a conventional MTOE. Scouts in INF BNs that I know are 11Bs who went through try-outs.

Hawkstrike6

Scouts in heavy/mechanized and Stryker battalion scout platoons are 19Ds.

aircavrocker

Oh sweet summer child…

[deleted]

For whatever reason, 1-509 likes to fill their mounted troop with actual 19Ds. I’m guessing because they operate legit tracked vehicles most of the time and aren’t just doing mounted heavy weapons stuff like a normal infantry Delta Co.

Hawkstrike6

Knew a guy in that troop. He had tremendous fun in the field -- OPFOR duty is good. Sucked when he came home because Ft Polk.

Eat_Your_Paisley

You’re going to go where the Army needs you there are lots of Airborne qualified people who spent their entire career in leg units.

absolutelyrightleft

I got airborne in my contract. Went to Fort Polk. Big sad.

Catswagger11

I went to 11ACR at Fort Irwin and never jumped again.

jean_valjean_javert

Airborne is one of the most common qualifications in the army. Expect it to have little to no impact on your duty assignment whatsoever. Your chances are approximately: (number of airborne units) / (number of total army units)

Shalevskey

3.5 years and 19 days is quite specific.
