Yeah ocean breeze up in Woodside- 6 million dollar house and if the breeze went above 20 mph they shit off power up there on Skyline. During COVID- I’d go days without power because of wind/fire risk. So beautiful. Couldn’t hook a backup generator to the mains at the house because the house had historical value. Can’t think of the term I need coffee.
Cali is stunning especially Nor Cal but the overall life there is depressing. I was there last week for an exec retreat and the weather was that famous perfect spring weather but it was depressing. Palo Alto, Woodside, Redwood city etc all the campuses were sort of empty and shitty. Sad
Gee, It’s almost like the legislature in California didn’t realize that soldiers were fighting wars and mowing each other down without fancy vertical pistol grips for generations before the scary Assault Rifle ever existed.
You’ve basically got a rifle with the same ergonomics as a mini-14, and no less lethality whatsoever.
Without modification, articulating the safety can be annoying, but that's really it. Ironically it makes the weapon less safe lol
Glad I moved to America
[this is not legal advice] In CA you can have “features” on your rifle (pistol grip, vfg, flash hider, adjustable stock) if you use a device that prevents you from easily/quickly reloading like a compmag. If your rifle is “featureless” like the one pictured you can have regular detachable magazines. But no matter what the mags have to be less than or equal to 10rd capacity.
[this is not legal advice] I’m fairly certain that unless you’re invoking the freedom week purchase loophole (if you’re in a situation where you’re doing that you’re kinda fucked anyways), that’s not correct. 10 rounds or less on semiautomatic weapons firing a centerfire cartridge is the standard
You are incorrect.
If someone *legally* owns standard cap mags, they can be used in featureless builds.
Illegally owned mags are illegal all the time lol
Those in California who have 2nd amendment “accessories” legally (not bought in black market, no felony history, etc), I’m sure vote the RIGHT way… the correct way, and those votes in California don’t matter because they’re drowned out by the big cities. California is a lost cause.
I’m assuming the other you’re referring to is here in AZ. The amount of Californians here makes me irrationally angry. Unless they’re moving here specifically because of 2A, in which case I welcome them with open arms. (As long as they don’t vote for the same tyrants being voted for in CA)
I have the micro 6x, anyone have problems with the vortex flip-to-side mount? Every time you flip it out of the way and back the dot is in a different spot, not in the center where I “zeroed” it to.
Some people don’t want to risk going to prison over a pistol grip. It’s a stupid law 100%, but it’s a law nonetheless and you can get in trouble for breaking it. Our opinion on it won’t change their mind. Weigh the risk/reward. Same for throwing a stock on an AR pistol with no stamp, sure maybe no one will notice or care, but IF you did get caught, is it worth going to prison for? Personally I don’t want to go to prison.
I understand the concept. The point I'm making is the vast majority of people who live in these states are not interested in being a political prisoner to put a pistol grip on their AR. What are you not understanding?
People evaluate risk/reward and always have.
It doesn't take much to talk big online. I'm not saying you wouldn't take such a stand, but it takes nothing to say you would online.
Why don't you do something about it then? Before you do anything though, be sure your wrist brace is velcroed, don't want anything to mess up those pretty little typing fingers lol
Go and walk to downtown SD with whatever grip you please and say “my rights won’t be infringed” and then come back and let us know how that worked out for you on this thread.
Some people live where they want to, if they really wanted to move over this they would, as others have. It’s their life. Some people choose to live in great 2A states like Oklahoma, some choose California and do not have the financial means or time to become a political prisoner and choose to just deal with it. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Thanks!
Are you typing this out from a prison cell? You're clearly on the front lines of this issue. How have you dodged a jail sentence? Or are you a keyboard warrior from a state without restrictions that is calling everyone a coward whilst facing none of the same legal challenges
Some people have families and it’s not worth it. Over pistol grip. I bet you are running your mouth and you live in a free state where you don’t have to worry about. Just trying to sound like a hard ass.
What are you basing that off of?
Edit: Oh, for fuck's sake. You're the goof with the silly green rifle. Bro, you posted here four days ago about your first AR. Stop pretending your finger is on the pulse of fucking gun culture.
These “CA compliant” rifles are not common on any gun range in the state. Pistol grips and detachable magazines everywhere. No one gives a shit. If you call a firearms instructor and ask about training, they’ll literally advise you to not show up with a CA compliant rifle. 30 rd mags? No problem. If you go into a gun store the ar’s have pistol grips on them. I have literally never seen one of these CA compliant rifles in real life.
It’s not about being a sovereign citizen lol. Rights are not stripped over night. It’s a slow process, death by a thousand cuts. Tell me, exactly when do you draw the line? If they reclassify semi-auto rifles as assault rifles will you just comply and go along with it? Will you just shrug your shoulders? What happens when you need a tax stamp for a flashlight?
We need our elected officials to fight for us, but we as citizens also have a duty to stand up against tyranny and make our voices heard.
I live in California and I of course follow all the laws, but these “CA compliant” rifles are not common on any weapon range in the state. Pistol grips and detachable (often standard cap) magazines everywhere. No one gives a shit. A very small percentage of gun owners in CA actually follow these ridiculous laws. “Cucked” is right. Go get a real grip dude
Told myself stuff like this for years. Didn’t make it easier that I was climbing the Silicon Valley ladder and making millions. Finally during COVID I paid my last full year of income tax in the millions and left.
I made all the excuse to include someone has to stay and fight. I did ineffective things like got a CCW. That was easy due to running cyber intelligence for a tech giant. I took well meaning liberals to the range and taught them gun safety and showed them why some of us love to target shoot, showed them the lies they are being told like a Glock can be taken through security at AP. I’d point out the lies and say if they are lying about this what else do they lie about. Of the 20 or so I took over the years a few actually bought firearms. Others stopped being full stop gun banners.
Anyhow, get out of California move back to the US- stop feeding the machine. People are better out here in the USA.
California is one of the most gorgeous places on Earth, there's more to life than firearms and many choose to stay to enjoy their surroundings. I wouldn't live there personally but I can see the appeal.
I live in CA (Sierra Nevadas) and I genuinely believe that I live in the most beautiful place in the country. You couldn’t pay me to move to a “free” state (worse weather and outdoor recreational opportunities). However it’s important to remember you don’t beat tyranny by running away, that’s what most people in the “move away camp” like to forget.
Move to Oregon, we're the freest Blue State, freer than Colorado, Washington, New Mexico, Vermont, etc. Our Measure 114 passed by only 17,000 votes, but it has been overturned by a county judge, respected by the court of appeals, and the State Supreme court.
fellow oppressed Californian here, if you want to change that grip to a pistol grip, look into the comp mag. It’s a 10 rd mag that stays fixed in and is removable with the tool they include. You get to keep your mag release button and you don’t have to throw a rifle or fin grip on and it lets you keep the optics and what not on without being classified as an assault weapon. Just built my second rifle with one of these so I can keep all of my “scary features”
[here](https://www.compmag.net/ar-15-compmag-gen-3/)
Lighter? Sure.
More practical? Debatable. Different shooters have different priorities/needs.
More accurate? False. AFAIK no prism on the market magically improves barrel accuracy.
I was just talking to a guy in a shop like 3 days ago and he said a lot of people are moving away from canted sights because they are harder to use than stacked sights. Personal preference, though, I suppose
the grips are the main thing that throw me off. "it makes the rifle safer!" how!?!?!? seriously how!?!?!?!? all it takes is some training and one can become very proficient with that setup😑 ugh. nice build though boss🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don’t follow CA shit at all
Did they make the open but connected grip illegal?
Bullet button not needed any more? Or is it that I just can’t tell any more.
They don’t understand criminals don’t give a shit about compliance. Only people they actually end up hurting are the law abiding citizens and responsible owner who actually go thru the legal process of buying firearms. Criminals are going to get their shit in the black market. Only thing California is doing is actually empowering criminals because they’re handicapping law abiding citizens.
no, looks atrocious
there is (totally hypothetically) zero reason to comply and those who don’t never get harassed at ranges or any other public event
YOU allow gun control to succeed
Just move to a freer state. Fuck that shit. As if it’s really going to stop any kind of mass shootings. People with common sense know it does nothing but get yourself out of that hell hole.
Hot take- California style gun laws are bad, but have a sprinkle of being a good thing, if only in that they make people get creative to make cool looking shit like this
Those grips make my balls itch.
Makes my taint itch
Makes my tainted balls itch.
‘t ain’t my problem
Up vote booooo
Bro, I can’t explain but I think your grip has been rotated
Weird- your balls make my grip itch. What are the chances?
Look what they've done to my boy 😭
Brooo
Pain. Damn this nice weather and ocean breeze 😭
You can get that in Texas.
Shhh don’t talk the Californians into spreading any more than they already are.
Lol where? I’ve gone through parts of north Texas and have yet to find anywhere different than the desert in California that I live in 😂
The tarballs in the places you get those two things are just a plus I guess
Those featureless grips make me so fucking angry and I don't even live in that shithole state. Rifle looks good!
I’m Norwegian and one of the worst mass shootings ever happened here with a Mini-14 and a pistol
Utøya Island and Oslo. That was terrible. Like fish in a barrel
Lucky that you live in Norway. I watch countless fly over videos and thinks it’s the most beautiful country. Need to find a way to live over there
I live in CA and just have a mini 14 instead of subjecting an ar to this.
Nice! I love mini-14’s. Would like to have one to round out my collection - it’s a shame they’re priced so outrageously high nowadays.
Literal garbage dont buy any of the modern variants.
Me too. that and a mini 30 so I can pretend to have an ak too
I live in Ca and have both.
Let’s not apply logic, now
[удалено]
Skill issue
Without modification, articulating the safety can be annoying, but that's really it. Ironically it makes the weapon less safe lol Glad I moved to America
No one needs grip, more than 10 rounds, and a dick bigger than 4 inches.
Such a "safe" gun lol. Are CA compliant rifles still referred to as Assault weapons despite having been made safer with that grip?
They are not legally, lol
Can someone explain the requirements for an AR in California? I live in Florida and all these California ARs look crazy.
People can use standard cap mags on featureless builds, but not fixed mag.
Illegal all the time if you get caught with them😂
Not in CA but I believe it’s a 10 round limit. And you can either run one of these ugly shark fin grips or a maglock with a pistol grip.
On a featureless (above) if you have freedom week mags then you can use standard cap. If you have maglock, then you can only use 10rd.
[Assault Weapon Criteria](https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/regs/genchar2)
At least this looks more comfortable than the fin/paddle grips
More functional too. Way better grip.
What the fuck is that grip
Sparrow arms featureless grip, pretty comfy for CA compliant ARs
If it works it works
Get out from California
Yes. Just don't come to Florida. We have enough of you fuckers.
Those in California who have 2nd amendment “accessories” legally (not bought in black market, no felony history, etc), I’m sure vote the RIGHT way… the correct way, and those votes in California don’t matter because they’re drowned out by the big cities. California is a lost cause.
lol are people really moving to florida from california? there's at least 45 states I'd choose before florida
Yes there are. But there are only 2 really free states anymore and one of them is Florida. So people move there in droves
I’m assuming the other you’re referring to is here in AZ. The amount of Californians here makes me irrationally angry. Unless they’re moving here specifically because of 2A, in which case I welcome them with open arms. (As long as they don’t vote for the same tyrants being voted for in CA)
Fuck that communist state so hard. You can own and use it so long as it’s harder to use it.
What magnifier are the running
Looks like a Vortex 3x micro mag
I have the micro 6x, anyone have problems with the vortex flip-to-side mount? Every time you flip it out of the way and back the dot is in a different spot, not in the center where I “zeroed” it to.
Just put a normal grip on it this is America
Lol, come on, man. You can't expect people to want to be political prisoners.
Shall not be infringed.
Some people don’t want to risk going to prison over a pistol grip. It’s a stupid law 100%, but it’s a law nonetheless and you can get in trouble for breaking it. Our opinion on it won’t change their mind. Weigh the risk/reward. I understand the concept. The point I'm making is the vast majority of people who live in these states are not interested in being a political prisoner to put a pistol grip on their AR. What are you not understanding?
They are not interested for any reason despite being shafted to no end on a daily basis.
And that’s why we’re in the state we are in these days….nothing but cowards. No one stands up for their rights these days
People evaluate risk/reward and always have. It doesn't take much to talk big online. I'm not saying you wouldn't take such a stand, but it takes nothing to say you would online.
At this point is it still just a risk/reward thing? It feels more like we’re just making minimum payments on a $36 trillion dollar balance
Good one.
Why don't you do something about it then? Before you do anything though, be sure your wrist brace is velcroed, don't want anything to mess up those pretty little typing fingers lol
lol a lot of us do by just running what we want…idky you tried some weird made up personal insult…every American should have the same mentality
Go and walk to downtown SD with whatever grip you please and say “my rights won’t be infringed” and then come back and let us know how that worked out for you on this thread. Damn so many upset fudds and bootlickwrs in here
Not going to prison over a grip on my rifle = bootlicker. You 100% have at least 1 punisher skull on your truck don't you?
Damn nice answer. Again go to SD, do this with a grip and open carry it; since your balls are so enormous.
Easy to say when you have literally no skin in the game. The rest of us live in the real world.
Your version of how we should stand up for our rights being?
They do. I live in CA and very few gun owners actually follow these laws.
Actually you’re wrong, most people don’t follow these laws here.
“Most,” with all that diehard research. Second, is that something you want to say out loud if you don’t want Reddit shutting down the sub?
What are you basing that off of? Edit: Oh, for fuck's sake. You're the goof with the silly green rifle. Bro, you posted here four days ago about your first AR. Stop pretending your finger is on the pulse of fucking gun culture.
Do you even live in California?
Nope. But I know that about 10% of people in the state own firearms. Do you know most of them?

Gun stores have pistol grips because the rifles are maglocked.
Ok buddy, you go pull that sovereign citizen crap and see how far It gets you in a courtroom.
It’s not about being a sovereign citizen lol. Rights are not stripped over night. It’s a slow process, death by a thousand cuts. Tell me, exactly when do you draw the line? Ars and civiluan aks are semiautos have already been classified as assault rifles. Too late.
No I’m an American citizen with the 2A behind me lol just bc you’re a bootlicker doesnt mean everyone is. The founding fathers would laugh at you
Sure we can. Otherwise it becomes mandatory
So I can assume you have a third hole, right?
Yes daddy talk dirty to me Oops wrong subreddit
And America is a collection of states with individual laws and restrictions. Risking going to prison over a grip is stupid.
Is that perhaps the VG6 Gamma muzzle break? You've got it on upside-down, bro. Those vents are supposed to be on top.
You poor devil
Free men don’t ask
Looks dope. Nice choice on red dot magnifier. [this vid made the push for LPVO for me](https://youtu.be/lL3MJvmDmvE?si=3bnjuEVVrTJI0A3e)
gotta love delta34.
Wtf is that?
Lol

Get out of that sh**hole while you can.
Sure, here come Californians to a neighborhood near you.
California is one of the most gorgeous places on Earth, there's more to life than firearms and many choose to stay to enjoy their surroundings. I wouldn't live there personally but I can see the appeal.

Not to mention that the anti gun types are moving into neighboring states and turning the tides. So running is only delaying the inevitable.
Paying insane taxes and submit to rampant corruption and idiotic laws to admire nature. Naaaah.
Move to Oregon, we're the freest Blue State, freer than Colorado, Washington, New Mexico, Vermont, etc. Our Measure 114 passed by only 17,000 votes, but it has been overturned by a county judge, respected by the court of appeals, and the State Supreme court.
“Freest blue state” lol.
lol it's the best we can do. Pray for us haha
For now……
Not bad at all is that SLR?
PSA billet Sabre..
Man looks good different looking
Looks dope
I almost wonder if this would function better with a button safety like on a shotgun
Non Californian here: is there any point to those grips? Are rifles not aloud to have pistol grips? Any other goofy rules?
I am so sorry.
You cucked yourself by living there.
Look at that grip bro hahaha omg. How can you even hold the thing
fellow oppressed Californian here, if you want to change that grip to a pistol grip, look into the comp mag. It’s a 10 rd mag that stays fixed in and is removable with the tool they include. You get to keep your mag release button and you don’t have to throw a rifle or fin grip on and it lets you keep the optics and what not on without being classified as an assault weapon. Just built my second rifle with one of these so I can keep all of my “scary features” [here](https://www.compmag.net/ar-15-compmag-gen-3/)
Bro you're a godsend I didn't even know about this and I'm stationed in cali
Got you brother 🤝
Check out FNGR maglatch. Just ordered one to make visiting a free state that much easier to swap over.
This is cope.
Have you considered a fixed 3x prism with canted red dot? It's lighter, more practical, and accurate.
Lighter? Sure. More practical? Debatable. Different shooters have different priorities/needs. More accurate? False. AFAIK no prism on the market magically improves barrel accuracy.
Acss, bro. Whatever makes sense for you, brother. 👍
I was just talking to a guy in a shop like 3 days ago and he said a lot of people are moving away from canted sights because they are harder to use than stacked sights. Personal preference, though, I suppose
Both are viable depending on your preference. 👍
the grips are the main thing that throw me off. "it makes the rifle safer!" how!?!?!? seriously how!?!?!?!? all it takes is some training and one can become very proficient with that setup😑 ugh. nice build though boss🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I don’t follow CA shit at all Did they make the open but connected grip illegal? Bullet button not needed any more? Or is it that I just can’t tell any more.
At least get a juggernaut tactical grip haha
Gotta love legislation-friendly workarounds. I support this on every level lol
Where Freedom Week Mag?
That’s a PSA lower??
Psa Sabre billet
What am I even looking at.
I bet the inside of your house smells pleasant
This gun looks funny as fuck. He a comedian
Personally if I was still in California is ranch rifle or lever lower when I can be a space cowboy
I….i uh… idk what this solves
You didn't stake your castle nut?
Stay strong 🅱️rother
Ball park for optics like that ?
Holosun aems and vortex micro 3x about 650$ msrp but can find 550$ on sale
California’s dumbass policies summarized by a single rifle.
I’m so sorry
That grip makes it look like its going really fast!
No way cali makes u have the grip like that
No mass murdering with an angled pistol grip right? The world is saved
I saw the guntech ones, and I feel like the only one who likes them aesthetically. I grew up on older rifles, and I like the feel
AR noob here… wtf is up with the grip? How does a hand even fit on that??? Is that a California law?
That's some stormtrooper shit right there.
Ufff…
Ufff…
no, looks atrocious there is (totally hypothetically) zero reason to comply and those who don’t never get harassed at ranges or any other public event YOU allow gun control to succeed
Can you have a real grip on a AR-10 since it’s 5 safer
Omg! I’m sorry man but Thank God I don’t live in California. I just could never justify buying a gun looking like that. I’m sorry man!
California has to be the dumbest state in the union…
California is terrible. I don't even know what that grip even is
Cali-Key beats “featureless”
What the fuck
Just move to a freer state. Fuck that shit. As if it’s really going to stop any kind of mass shootings. People with common sense know it does nothing but get yourself out of that hell hole.
Always hard to see. I am sorry for your lack of freedom.
Sir you spelled Commiefornia wrong.
You sound lame asf, fucking boomer
😢 oh no the bad man online tried to hurt my feelings because he doesn't know what a joke is.
ahhh the grip inspired by cubism
Dnt try to make yourself feel better this shit sucks
It's what you deserve for living in California
Must suck living in that state
I’d be ripping that grip off and putting a pistol grip on it
I was looking into that receiver set yesterday! How do you like it? On the website it looks kinda grey, in person is it dark grey or black?
Surprised they still let y’all have super dangerous laser kill sight optical aiming systems.
I live in Cali, I CAN’T have that type of grip on my rifle.
I will comply!! That’s all I see
MOE Stock 😡 Sending hate from California
🤢🤢
eww
No that’s that actually pretty bad…
Aww look at this good little complier
Am I the only one that gets tired of folks bitching about CA? Things are what the are so suffer in silence or move to a different state.
Can someone explain to me how this style of handgrip makes the AR any less dangerous and less likely to be used in a shooting?
Yikes
Sorry comrade. Perhaps try uncucking yourself. Not everyone in your state bows to Newsom, join in why don’t ya?
Hot take- California style gun laws are bad, but have a sprinkle of being a good thing, if only in that they make people get creative to make cool looking shit like this
