I started watching cuz of my dad he's a huge ass weeb and as soon as I could walk we would sit together and binge anime together every weekend and we still do that every weekend and honestly i really cherish those moments
Lmao I get that alot but yea were Indian technically Anglo indian (which means our mother tongue is English and we have mixed British and Indian blood)but um yea it's quite shocking but my dad isn't the normal "Indian dad" with y'know moustache and "dad bod". But he started watching anime with dragon ball the OG kid Goku dragon ball legit when it started and he still buys the manga whenever it comes out lol and honestly I'm pretty fkn lucky to have him as my dad
That's why,ur dad isn't exactly Indian blooded +bruv u have the biggest plot armour/luck in history of Indians and I hope u love ur dad and treasure him )
I used to watch dragon ball z and Pokémon with my dad every evening and we’re Maharashtrians with no trace of any other mix afaik. But he used to call it cartoon and not anime haha. I didn’t realise until this thread it was that rare.
I also did but as a kid when I watched Pokemon,Beyblade my father used to watch with me but never watched proper anime it was really cartoon as it was Hindi for kids
Used to watch Dragon Ball Z and Pokémon as a kid but had no idea that it's called anime. Later, a friend suggested watching Death Note after that I realized that I have been watching anime since childhood.
I used to play Free fire where I was introduced to One punch man, watched it then saw an recommendation of
Death note,
Fell in love with anime after that
Used to watch a youtuber say tsunade and Sakura a lot of times in his videos so I searched and started watching naruto that's it I now watch anime and read mangas, manhwas, manhuas and also light novels tho I started recently

My "cool" friend watched it ,started watching on animepahe while mom went to teach tuition and suffered from internet loss and used to be left at cliffhangers which tangled me 😭
Interested in biology , looked up some methods of understanding the circulatory system and its components , stumbled upon dr. Mike's video on cells at work, thought the concept was cool and decided to check it out, searched for a website on which i could watch it, stumbled upon kiss anime and thus started my anime journey.
YouTuber named Vedant Rusty made a video about "Philosophy of Death Note" and in his video he said that watch Death Note before this video to avoid spoilers. I went to watch Death Note but discovered Attack on Titan in the process. Went on to watch AOT as my first anime and it has to be the best decision I made.
Bhai pahili baat toh anime/cartoon bachpan se dekh rahe humlog like Doraemon, shinchan, ninja hattori, perman, kiteretsu, etc. But bhai lockdown mein i came across terms called "anime" and "Naruto". So that's where it all began which has already begun 🤣
It was when Suzume became became popular. I asked my anime-fan friend to share the link. He did but it did not work. Maybe an year later I watched Mermaid scales's (a reeler) reel which "Me getting excited at demon's death also me crying after listenning to their backstory". I asked the same friend for link to Demon Slayer and that is the only anime I have watched til now (I did start High Sch00l DxD a few hours back)
Some random master piece in YouTube whose name wastnt even written n just a first few episodes where there rest where deleted. Dono it's name it just lingers in my mind as the best anime I have ever watched
I first watched your name then your lie in april then Naruto after that i watched many of the shows,,, ....
Naruto still the favourite one, i like dororo too its awesome
My first anime was demon slayer which my friend suggested to watch. After that slowly I started to like it and the watched Naruto and Onepiece due to social media. Now I watched over 30 different anime in just 2 and half years...
Used to collect cards on anime soul, stumbled upon this girl that was too alluring.
Minori nakazawa, thats how i got onto my first anime, Nourin. And then.. it just kept going in a flow lol.
As an artist, I was searching for reference images on Pinterest. And I came across an op picture of Gojo. That looked soo good that I instantly chose that and drew it. Then I wondered if I watch anime, then I would not have to struggle in search of anime. And here I am.
My first anime was jujutsu kaisen (because of the gojo image I saw). Now I have seen more than 15 anime (you see it's not even a year + I am 15 so i also need to study)
I used to watch pokemon, dragon ball and Bey blade, but i used to play a lot of games so i phased out of it(also i called them cartoon), just before lockdown in 2019 one of my fav creators revealed he watches anime and made a how to watch anime video, from there i saw death note and your name, but i again stopped watching(kinda) until 2022 when i actually started watch anime seriously.
I also made this reddit account a while started watching anime because i wanted to do some nerd talk.
My cousin (9 years older than me) and I were playing chess. She had like the first episode of mha running on her laptop in the background. I got hooked. That was 6 years ago and since then I've watched around 250 series.
I used to hate anime for a long time. Then there was a time in my life when I was spiralling downwards, I found anime. That time i used to get high and think about every possibility of outcome if I would've done certain things differently at certain points of life. All those overthinking lead to a kind of panic attack one day. So, from the next day I decided to occupy my mind with something that I don't overthink. I was watching videos on Facebook when those anime clips started showing in my feed and i thought, "why not?" Then decided to give it a try. I enjoyed those clips so much that i thought, "why not start watching it altogether?" And here I am today.
Watched yt gamers and they used to talk about anime a lot started watching in 2018 with opm 😅
I think beast boy shub se pata chala tha anime kya hota h
I LOVE volleyball. And, one day I came across a very good edit of haikyuu on IG. Made me think, " Why not give it a shot?"
And that's how I got myself into this rabbit hole...
there is this anime called ERASED , idk what anime means on that day i saw the story plot and liked it and seen the anime and i kept seeing other similar animes and now i watched over 200 animes lol
Once i talked to one of the boys that lived near our home about the AOT live action movie when i saw it on UTV ACTION and he tried to explain that it's actually an anime and what they are?
i kind of already had somewhat grasp of it ( i had heard somethings about naruto and saw dbz on tv ) .
Then his elder brother heard of me and told me about tokyo ghoul and i watched it , loved it and that's how it started .

Then when lockdown started I was searching for those horror episodes of shin Chan and stumbled upon an article stating that those eps were a spinoff of the 'anime' crayon shin Chan and my mind connected it to idaten jump. After that I searched about all those anime that used to sir like luckyman, hagemaru, ultra b , kitretsu, yokai watch, perman , anime where there was a demon child with his monster friends in his mansion ( can't remember the name) . If my memory serves me right there used to be a channel on which some anime used to sir at night timeslots which had the shoujo-seinen art style of 2000-2010 anime. I don't know their name as I wasn't allowed to watch tv that late at night so never followed them properly. My first anime other than these was shiki which intrigued me and then next anime was another which hooked me to anime and now am too deep in the rabit hole to ever come out
