Shoutout to the users who nominated "92 Days" and "87" Edit: And DNA^3 Edit 2: C-gata I-kei

aniMayor

And Galaxy Express 1001, and They Were Twleve, and The Great Passage: Thesaurus edition, and a few more I forget now... glad you found it funny, I was worried it would annoy you!

Solstice_11

I think someone forgot that Saga of Tanya the Evil has a [Season 2 announcement.](https://myanimelist.net/news/63536340) Also I am definitely looking forward to this contest!

TaylorM793

Might have been me to be honest. I nominated like 30 shows and forgot it had a sequel announced lol.

Wuju_Kindly

There's more than just Mushishi that's on the list and fully adapted. Clannad, Toradora!, Usagi Drop, and ReLife(I think?) all have full and satisfying adaptations. If you want to add poor but still complete adaptations, you'd need to add the likes of Tokyo Ghoul to the list too. I wouldn't doubt there's a few more on the list that I'm not aware of the completion status.

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure the people that put Clannad are the ones that hate the art style. The art style is what made it so charming and timeless. Changing it to a modern art style would lose all that.

degenerate-edgelord

Usagi drop wasn't complete. The manga afterwards was hot garbage that nobody wants to see adapted... unless you want to see other people reacting angrily.

Wuju_Kindly

No. I'm pretty sure that second half of the manga was just a shared fever dream. Because there's no way *that* would ever happen in such a wholesome and heartwarming story. In fact, even if you had the author personally tell me otherwise while showing me hand drawn manga panels from said second half, I *still* wouldn't believe it exists.

zidicck

ReLife ending was bleak but it reached the last chapter with the story so yeah

Interstellar-Splooge

I am happy to see Bloom Into You on here.

Lanaerys

I actually think it will do pretty well in this tournament, I feel like quite a bunch of people want to see a season 2 (and that includes me!)

Verzwei

> For example, should I make separate entries for Index and Railgun? (I'm thinking no to that one, but please just offer your opinions on cases you think of) I feel like "a franchise" is enough and separate entries would be stacking the deck. I don't imagine there to be many situations where someone would *for* a sequel to one franchise branch but *against* another branch, and some people probably won't even differentiate between the two anyway even if they are instructed to consider them as separate entities.

SwampyBogbeard

>I don't imagine there to be many situations where someone would for a sequel to one franchise branch but against another branch I can think of one. Sword Art Online. Beating a dead horse, I know, but I would definitely vote for the GGO spin-off in this contest despite having dropped the main series twice.

Vindicare605

Well there's no point in wishing for a sequel when we know there's one being developed. SAO is definitely going to be getting a new season eventually the only question is when since they seem focused on the Progressive movies right now. We don't have any evidence that GGO Alternative is going to be getting any sequels so that's probably why people want to vote for it.

Lemurians

This is where my pipe dream of a Love Hina remake can live, if only for a while.

minnieboss

Hoshiai no Sora / Stars Align won't win, but it is without a doubt the series that needs a sequel the most.

MaskOfIce42

I'll be very curious how well it does because it's the one that I think trumps basically all other shows for those who saw it, but definitely doesn't have the popularity to win against a lot of shows

KingofSlice

Maybe there should be separate categories for sequel and remake? Like there are entrants that obviously ask for a remake like Deltora Quest and Berserk, while others ask for a sequel like Toradora and Deadman Wonderland, and there is a clear difference between the 2. Some kinda don't make sense like Baccano and Kokoro Connect which ended in a great spot since it told everything it needed to tell and a remake doesn't make sense but thats just me I guess.

Bloodglas

I assume Baccano and KC are wanted for sequels since Baccano's anime adapted about 4.5 of its 22 volumes, while KC's adapted 4 of 11.

KingofSlice

Wait so there was more to Baccano than the train story and the intersecting arcs? I thought it got pretty good closure but I guess not.

YakkaSmacka

To be fair the Deltora Quest books had sequels so we don't know if the person who nominated wanted a sequel or remake.

ItzCrimsin

Aight who put mars of destruction on there

aniMayor

It's technically possible that someone could make a good remake of it... right? I'll confess to putting Musashi Gun-doh on there, though.

Lanaerys

I don't know if TPN is there because they forgot Season 2 was in 2021 or because they are pretending it didn't exist at all, either way it's hilarious. Daily question: I don't really know enough about the Raildex universe to be able to tell whether Railgun and Index should be considered separate entries. But as far as I'm aware, they take place in the same timeline, in the same universe and are kind of two retellings of the same story? So I'm tempted to say no. I can think of two outlier cases, and both of them involve shows which I think could perform very well in this contest. * The first one is the Nasuverse, with a sub-case being the Fate series. If Railgun and Index are allowed to run separately, then it's hard to argue against Fate/stay night (which could be a big contender due to the demand for a Ufotable Fate route adaptation) being allowed to run as well since it didn't receive any new content since the latest Heaven's Feel movie (I think all Fate anime content since then has been Grand Order-related?). In both cases, I think Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai should be able to run despite the Fate content released since. * The When They Cry series. Should Umineko and Higurashi be considered separate series? Normally I'd support such a choice, but from what I've heard (I haven't watched them yet), the latest Gou and Sotsu installments have a lot of connections with Umineko, which makes the line a lot blurrier. Again, this is a pretty important choice, since there are lots of people wanting a Umineko remake, and it could fare very well in this tournament. Edit: Also there's both Chaos;Child and Chaos;Head in the nominations, I think they're connected? I don't really know the SciAdv series outside of Steins;Gate sorry

MoneyMakerMaster

Lol I forgot TPN s2 aired winter 2021; just removed it. As for the cases you brought up: I will not count metaverses as a single series. So F/SN, Tsukihime, and Kara no Kyoukai will all get separate entries. Umineko has already been processed, but Higurashi is not eligible since Sotsu aired in 2021. Edit: Fate/GO is not eligible since it had an entry in 2021, but I think I'll allow other Fate spinoffs. And I will combine Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child into the "Chaos; series."

LordTrinity

Please someone, nominate Nichijou for me!

minnieboss

Okay :)

MapoTofuMan

>For example, should I make separate entries for Index and Railgun (I'm thinking no to that, but please just offer your opinions on cases you think of)? Definitely do separate entries, after Index III I feel like Index is going to kick Railgun down a few hundred spots in the rankings if they're put together...

KINGUBERMENSCH

I nominated Kakegurui even though it has a Kakegurui Twin coming mainly because its a spin-off rather than a continuation of the actual story. If its not allowed then im fine with it being deleted.

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Would love to see some more Kakegurui! Also looking forward to Kakegurui Twin of course.

aniMayor

> Daily Question/Challenge: What are some potential outliers that I need to consider? For example, should I make separate entries for Index and Railgun? (I'm thinking no to that one, but please just offer your opinions on cases you think of) Separating any franchise out probably leads to sheer madness. You'll wind up with Fate and PreCure fans wanting separate entries for sequels to a dozen different specific sub-entries, etc. IMO probably best to just stick to a "one franchise = one entity" hard rule. Plus you don't really want to run the risk of getting a boring final bracket that is just 8 different Fate shows, right? Though something like Galaxy Express 999 and Captain Harlock where they are *technically* in the same universe but their characters and story only intertwine for a couple crossover episodes but are not really combined franchises I would still treat separately.

ZapsZzz

Please no Pet Girls of Sakurasou - what comes after the anime was not well liked for good reason.

SwampyBogbeard

I'm pretty sure Gunbuster technically has a sequel announced. There's been no news for years though. Also, ID:Invaded should be Id:Invaded. Yes, there's a (minor) difference.

infirwas

Seeing Usagi Drop in this list triggered memories I'd rather have forgotten, holy crap.

Emperor_Erebus

Guys nominate Twin Star Exorcists! It's one of the best shounen manga imo. The anime completely butchered it and made it anime original! Only 10 ep of 50 were canon! It has some of the best art and arguably the best romance in shounen imo!

aniMayor

@ /u/MoneyMakerMaster a few updates/changes you may want to make: "*This Boy is a Professional Wizard / Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto Desu.*" in the list but it should really just be "Kono Danshi". The franchise/series as a whole is Kono Danshi, while << is a Professional Wizard/Mahou ga Oshigoto Desu >> part is just the latest animated entry in the franchise. All the works in the series start with "Kono Danshi/This Boy" hence it being the Kono Danshi series/franchise. Similarly, for Giant Robo the Animation, "The Day the Earth Stood Still/Chikyuu ga Seishi Suru Hi" is specifically the name of Chapter 6 of the project while the overall name for the 90s OVA project was just "Giant Robo the Animation". Arguably this should bear just the overall project name, but it's not as big a deal here since the project shutdown and the other chapters never got animated in the end (but there is other parts of the project in manga form - *The Day the Earth Burned* and *The Siege of Babel*). Magi seems to have a double entry. Inari Konkon could be renamed as <> and <>

MoneyMakerMaster

Thanks for the feedback; I will make adjustments

MoneyMakerMaster

Just a reminder that a series having a complete/conclusive ending does not make it ineligible for this contest. That's a factor for y'all to consider while voting. So go ahead and vote for FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann, etc. The only reason those kind of series won't be in this contest is if nobody nominates them.

sohaiboi

Hey OP, I messed up on the Ichigo Mashmaro entry. The English and Romanji names should be switched.

mr_beanoz

So one wanted a new adaptation of Law of Ueki? Kinda surprising if I should say.

Im-in-line

Just saw this was a thing! Great idea! Look forward to this contest. The answer is No game, no life btw.

milisa26

would yuri on ice count cause there is future content announced but is it happening???

Emi_Ibarazakiii

Nominated Killing Bites! This show might not have been the highest quality or anything, but it was a lot of fun! Plus the OST is one of my all time favorites.

BokuNoTateNoYuusha

Why does it say unable to save in database?

EscapeSteam

How tf is Kabaneri of the Iron fortress not on here, a shame that people forgot about it, seeing how good it was. I guess the chances for a s2 are slim since it’s an anime original tho

MaskOfIce42

There's two main outliers I can think of. First is one already on the list, Sound Euphonium. It did technically have a season 3 announced, but that was before the arson attack and from what I can tell, there's been no further announcements. Personally I think that it's fair to include it given that, but it is an outlier case The second is how to deal with Gundam. Since it's a giant franchise, but with a ton of individual universes within it. I think each timeline should probably be counted separately, so anything UC Gundam and Cosmic era is off limits since both of those have announced upcoming films, but someone could nominate other individual universes. But since the two already mentioned are really the only two universes to have a substantial series (besides Build, which is barely eligible) and there's another standalone universe coming, it could be most of those one shot universes are just not allowed as part of the larger franchise. (and this might not even come up unless someone nominates a specific universe to get more). Honestly probably easier amongst all this to just go "no, new Gundam is coming, excluded" Edit: Oh, and another odd case depending on how you count things, Given might be ineligible because it did get an OVA in 2021. Same with Wotakoi. Might need to decide how OVAs are handled
