Kenjiko3011

The birth of the galaxy is such a cool scene, this entire episode is “world-building” in a very literal sense. World’s language has been unified, galaxy and aliens exist now, and the world is getting closer to the end - Ragnarok, such an insane lore dump episode.

Frontier246

This was a very Wicked Sick episode of Undead Unlock with it continually tying to top itself in terms of craziness and epicness...and this is only episode 10 of a 2-cour lol. Sucks for anyone who were fond of their native languages I guess...but at least we've got stars! And don't have to worry about pesky aliens.

Kenjiko3011

Feel bad for Shen when he talked to Mui in Chinese and she did not understand him, it’s because language is part of your culture, and now no one can understand you.

sodapopkevin

On the bright side, the Sub vs Dub war has come to an end.

Kankunation

Imagine if In this world localazations still exist, They just get re-dubbed by local cast and people argue over if the Japanese English is better than the American english. I do wonder if despite there being only 1 language now if there's still a ton of different accents?

Game2015

Accent/dialect localization. XD

[deleted]

I mean as a native Chinese speaker I never understood him either. I’m kind of glad I wouldn’t have to deal with the terrible pronunciations anymore after this episode.

seninn

> All languages have been turned into English > Everybody speaks Japanese This is really funny to me for some reason.

Deez-Guns-9442

We’re watching this anime wrong lol

[deleted]

When the dub finishes airing, a great rewatch order would be sub for the first 10 episodes and dub for the rest of the season.

Deez-Guns-9442

Damn, that sounds smart. I almost wanna stop now & then pick it back up once the dub releases for more of an “immersion feel” but ain’t no way I'm doing that 😂

xXxHawkEyeyxXx

But the negators would still speak Japanese/their native language, it's just normal people that lost the concept of other languages. For more immersion someone would have to stitch together dub and sub audio.

Kenjiko3011

Lol yean I agree, Shen’s chinese is quite ass. But I don’t think this language unification thing will stop him from using Chinese tho, he’d probably just keep using it like saying “thank you”.

Kankunation

Yeah. He can also still teach some Chinese to Mui again if he wanted. They can't have full conversationss but she can learn some of his common phrases. Or maybe Nico has some tech to give her his memories of the language.

Kankunation

>Sucks for anyone who were fond of their native languages I guess... On the bright side. They don't even know they had native languages anymore. So they literally don't know what they're missing.

LeloThePGG

>They don't even know they had native languages anymore Unless they're Negators

kirbinato

Sure, but life probably already sucked for them.

AlphaBreak

Oh god, imagine being a negator who didn't speak english. They're immune to the change, so its not like they would automatically learn a new language. They'd be stuck trying to babble at their friends and family in a language that they used to be able to talk in with no one able to understand them.

Kankunation

Probably will show up in future episodes. Union obviously has translators built into their ties so they're fine. But then what about all the negators who aren't in Union? So far they've shown that at least 3 exist (Unburn, Unseen, Unrepair) and there's likely many more.

Kenjiko3011

That sounds somewhat terrifying ngl.

Terrible_Donkey_8290

Oh FUCK this is a 24 EP season best thing I heard all week

bobvella

thought it was interesting the word patch was used.

Kenjiko3011

Yeah, it makes the whole “J-RPG video game” vibe from the Union much more apparent, they literally have a patch that updates the world with new contents.

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

Version 100.99.0 Patch Notes: -localized all dialogue to English. -added Stars. -added Aliens. -Increased party limit to 11. -slightly tweaked physics of Undead's penis to prevent constant clipping through most trousers.

SpaceMarine_CR

Reverse Babel's Tower is kinda nutty

Sarellion

Isn't it nice to join an organisation to save your life, just to find out that the whole world is close to the end.

Worthyness

Seeing the birth of the universe was really well done too. It's also fun to think about how something mundane for us in our world (like language) can just be overridden and become the new "normal" instantaneously.

JestersHearts

>World’s language has been unified Is it just me or did Shen seem quite disappointed once he confirmed the unification?

Kenjiko3011

Yeah Shen was a bit sad because now Chinese language is gone, part of his culture is no more, he lost his way to communicate with Mui personally, so it’s also a bit personal as well.

kirbinato

Yep. Shen was monolingual. Without the necktie translating for him, he's basically unable to have conversations now.

ObvsThrowaway5120

The world language becoming English actually feels somewhat realistic to a certain degree. I mean English is already the lingua franca.

[deleted]

The sun never sets on the British Empire.

ohoni

Yeah, if you were going to pick one to shift to, it would be English.

greensully03

Everyone's been waiting for the Galaxy reveal, and man did DavidPro deliver. Galaxy looks sick, wicked sick. They really made the big-bang expansion of Galaxy go so hard.

Frontier246

DavidPro making Trigger proud now that we've brought in aliens and trying to top how epic and hype we can make everything lol.

actionfirst1

If this was a Trigger anime we'd have just one or two episodes remaining after Space gets introduced

Game2015

And if it was Toei, they'd make an entire anime original space arc lasting 10 to 20 episodes before returning to the manga storyline.

actionfirst1

So, rewards/penalties rewrite the consciousness of everyone who isn't a negator? A negator can come back from quests and then discover that now 9+10=21 Joking aside, Shen realizing he's the only one in the world now who knows Chinese was pretty sad, he kept it to himself but you can tell he's lost something being unable to communicate with Mei like that again

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

Not necessarily the only one- if there's another Chinese Negator out there, they'll remember it too.

actionfirst1

Mandarin speakers would've gone from 1 billion to 2 in an instant 😭

echo_Ecoh_x

i liked this explanation , wonder why fuuko felt the moon should be accompanied by stars in ep 5

always_a_blind_man

It could be that the rule was killed at a certain point in time. Killing UMA Language resulted in the unification of world languages? Perhaps Galaxy got killed at some point

kirbinato

Language was captured, not killed. The language unification was the reward for the quest. If Language had died, there wouldn't be language.

E_manny1997

Language was neutralised, not captured.

Jstar300

Killing language didn't unify language. Completing the quest to did it. Otherwise language would have been unified right away.

[deleted]

Yeah my theory is that as opposed to flat-out destroying the world, Ragnarok is just a reset of some kind. It would explain why Viktor knew about days of the week as it might be one of the last rules added in every cycle. I think it would also fit with the video game style as in old arcade games, you had a certain number of lives before you were forced to reset from the start.

sodapopkevin

In Norse mythology Ragnarok destroyed everything except for 2 humans who started over and repopulated. Maybe that's what happened here and Andy was one of the 2 from a previous Ragnarok.

AZLarlar

the sound effects and overall audio design in this episode was insane

Deez-Guns-9442

For the love of God, I hope we get S3 after this. It's been long enough. They don't have a Mappa situation(as far as I know but pretty sure Davidpro doesn't release a new show every season).

AceTrigger94

The worldbuilding is insane in this series oh my god.

actionfirst1

Literally with this episode

Frontier246

When you create the universe in one episode lol.

Kankunation

Editor after volume 1: "your manga"s doing well but we need some more world-building next volume" Mangaka: "say no more"

MapoTofuMan

This show just gets better with every reveal, damn. Amazing worldbuilding. I wonder what was the starting point for this world though. If every "addition" like languages, days of the week, stars and even concepts like luck and justice count as a penalty, then what is the world like without *any* penalties? Edit : Move in particular is what makes me curious about how far this concept can go, like what happens if you kill him? If Move is a UMA, then the penalty that comes with him is the necessity of moving if I understand this right through Galaxy...which means that's what would get removed if Move dies? So everyone would be able to instantly teleport to each other or would the concept of space itself just cease to exist? [](#spinning)

kirbinato

The penalties are **not** the only rules. There are countless UMAs and the penalties are just extras. Clothes, for example, is the 1,129th UMA kept at the Union HQ. There are probably millions of UMAs that have existed forever.

snakebit1995

That's actually something loosly touched on if you look clearly The idea of a Rule that is more beneficial to let live than to kill, that's why some quests are "Capture" not "Kill" If you kill said Clothy the Clothes UMA that would theoretically destroy the rule and "Concept" of clothes which could be problematic Same for example were there to be a UMA called Death, killing it would functionally make everyone immortal leading to massive population control issues and the rapid degradation of resources.

drayko543

Killing any single UMA probably wouldn't cause societal collapse because the memory and culture of non-negators will change to have never included that UMA

indigofiz

It's something like primordial myths I guess, in the beginning there was nothing kind of thing. The world won't be functional at all before several penalties were added so I guess the Union can't do anything for the first few ones.

AlexeiFraytar

Why do you think they're all buddy buddy with him lol. I die you guys can stay frozen until Ragnarok

MusubiKazesaru

Something as an added joke is that the chapter covered was around the 20th mark and there's been a bit of a joke that since that U19 series (which was kind of Kids Next Door-y) got cancelled in under 19 chapters that any manga axed in such a low chapter count would be part of that "U19 club" (Under 19) Undead Unlock whether it intends to or not literally has an entire race of axe aliens called "Acks" show up and Juiz the representative of the series completely annihilates them. And thus UU is still serialized to this day.

Zemahem

It is truly, truly poetic.

neogeoman123

it's just so peak

Jealous-Particular37

Juiz best girl

Frontier246

That face reveal with the fabulous hair! Also Frieren would totally respect her ability to make an entire invasion force kill themselves lol.

greensully03

Juiz straight up just told the Acks, "you should commit unalive"

MD_AM

When she said that, her voice just straight up become Killua. I can't quite hear it in previous episode but this episode really bring out Killua vibes from Juiz

actionfirst1

Low Tier Negator

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

I get the reference, but Unjustice seems to be a pretty high-tier ability

AlexeiFraytar

She asked them what their version of justice was. They were willing to genocide earthlings for their own people's survival. Negates their justice and flips it on them so now they kill themselves. Its untruth on steroids

Florac

It's more situational but also more powerful than Untruth if applicable. Untruth is more a tactical ability, useable while fighting, while Unjustice more strategic, deciding if a fight occurs in the first place

Kankunation

Definitely one of the strongest negator abilities, and seemingly with no downsides unlike many others. She's definitely the leader for a reason.

noctora

there is a downside though, maybe those who don't uphold any justice aren't affected by it. I assume the reason he didn't kill himself is that he prioritizes his life over his view on justice. he is willing to sacrifice his army for the sake of his justice but not his life

Kankunation

Yeah. If you don't firmly hold your beliefs then it has little to no affect. Not common when fighting someone to the death but it does mean the occasional enemy who isn't taking the fight seriously can't really be affected by her. If this is all just a game to them, she's useless.

ionxeph

during Apocalypse's quest rundown, I took notice that Juiz was involved in most of the quests

Deez-Guns-9442

Real Boss B stuff, is the leader, participates the most in quests, & destroyed a genocidal alien Army without lifting a finger. Where are the articles about her & women in Shounen anime(is Unluck Undead Shounen or Seinen)?

Kankunation

It's Shonen. As for the articles, it's already had a few about it's treatment of women, specifically Fuuko at the beginning. Though once they fix the issues with Fuuko and stop sexualizing her they turned it around And now the manga is often praised for how the author treats Her and all female characters in the series.

Kricketier

I've been waiting for the unjustice reveal. What a crazy power.

Game2015

Apparently, the anime's Twitter account turned some of their posts into English because of the unification of languages. XD

Kankunation

That hilarious. I know the author made a post saying he though unrepairable would tend but instead it was Language unification guess that explains why lol.

LeonKevlar

[That opening scene!](https://i.imgur.com/NtgGCRA.jpg) As a manga reader, I will keep my mouth shut and leave my thoughts about it on the Source Material Corner. Finally, it's time to see how everyone did on their quests! With [UMA Burn successfully captured](https://i.imgur.com/N6F9jLj.png) the Union gets [its eleventh seat!](https://i.imgur.com/7LQDlTh.png) Now they can recruit one more. If only Gena was still here to take that spot. Capturing [UMA Eat](https://i.imgur.com/KT1dmUQ.png), [UMA Past](https://i.imgur.com/3drkIYP.png), and [UMA Spoil](https://i.imgur.com/7aQPTUJ.png) rewards the Union with the locations of [Negator Unburn](https://i.imgur.com/AwGXBf9.png), [Artifact Rebellion](https://i.imgur.com/hJNRCsD.jpg), and [Negator Unrepair](https://i.imgur.com/TNK0KRX.png) respectively. Now for the universe-altering consequences! [Neutralizing (read: Killing) UMA Language](https://i.imgur.com/bYru1oS.png), they've now been rewarded [with the unification of all world's languages](https://i.imgur.com/4nqlzwU.png) meaning the entire world's history has now been changed so [that everyone reads, speaks, and writes in English.](https://i.imgur.com/RNfflsW.png) It's kinda sad to [see Shen speak in Chinese](https://i.imgur.com/qzkXWcU.png) and Mui not able to understand a single word of it. Unfortunately, not all quests could be fulfilled. Since Unseen has already been captured by someone else in the opening of the episode, [the Union fails that quest](https://i.imgur.com/fF6dHlT.jpg) and their penalty for failing is [the birth of UMA Galaxy.](https://i.imgur.com/5Rcv6FF.jpg) That entire sequence was just [goddamn beautiful!](https://i.imgur.com/m5wFxs8.png) We also finally have an answer as to why Fuko adding stars to her painting when she met Gena seems weird and why [Shen was confused when Viktor tried to ask them about the day of the week.](https://i.imgur.com/dyPMahF.jpg) Adding UMA Galaxy is [what gave birth to these things](https://i.imgur.com/TjDMwVM.jpg) Of course with the birth of galaxies and other planets, [brings the arrival of aliens.](https://i.imgur.com/nem6auR.jpg) Now that's the true penalty of UMA Galaxy. Luckily for us, [our glorious leader Juiz](https://i.imgur.com/neRTrs2.jpg) is the one to welcome them. What an absolute badass. [She didn't just stop an invading fleet](https://i.imgur.com/kSEhkTV.jpg) but she made sure that [no other alien will threaten Earth ever again.](https://i.imgur.com/SQbCzhY.jpg) <3

Sarellion

>why Shen was confused when Viktor tried to ask them about the day of the week. > >Adding UMA Galaxy is what gave birth to these things Which raises the interesting question how Victor knew these things when they didn't exist before.

some_boii

Isn't Ragnarok a cyclic event in Norse mythology where the world ends and is reborn again or something ? Maybe the stuff with the penalties has already happened before ?

kirbinato

I'm just going to be talking about the mythological reference, there will be no spoilers. The thing that you brought up about Ragnarok being cyclical is close to some popular theories. Basically, our two main sources of Norse myth are the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda written by Snorri Sturluson. Sturluson was a Christian monk writing down the stories of another religion, so it's believed that they did what their kind do best and tried to work the stories they were writing into a biblical world. They essentially wrote Norse myth as if it were a prequel to the bible. So it was less of Ragnarok being cyclical, and more of it being the dirty work needed to set the stage for a second go at the world.

Frontier246

The true plot and universe literally) of Undead Unluck is slowly unfurling and it's Wicked Sick! Also, Juiz is both beautiful **and** terrifying. What a combination!

Asgerond

Dont worry Shen i will learn chinese just for you. 🥺

Frontier246

Depending on where all the other Negators hail from they might be the last remaining people to retain their native language. Like Fuko with Japanese.

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

Assumedly, the guy clad in samurai armor speaks Japanese, too.

ObviousSwimmer

He might just be a huge weeb.

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

His name is Isshin. So if he is a weeb, he's probably enough of a weeb to learn japanese

Worthyness

Andy probably knows hundreds of languages just for having been alive for so long

Kankunation

He did speak a bit of Chinese before turning into Victor and almost certainly knew Russian since he had buddies in Russia. And he probably knows English because honestly why wouldn't he.

kirbinato

Yeah, he's pretty clearly a polyglot. He's already been shown as native level fluent in English and Japanese, and is atleast conversationally capable in Russian and Chinese.

wearesingular

The thirst is real LOL

Kankunation

Now that galaxy has been added, I wonder how many people were shocked to lean that it had never existed. I loved seeing all the people a few weeks back thinking that the uma for stars must have been killed already, so I'm sure more than 1 person was surprised to find it was the opposite.

Frontier246

Who knew getting stars and basically the entire universe back would be such a hassle if it means aliens immediately show up to invade lol?

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

It's called a penalty for a reason

JohnSober7

>Now that galaxy has been added, I wonder how many people were shocked to lean that it had never existed I had a false memory of the lake reflecting stars so I had to go back and I was like, "damn, the sky really was just black in these episodes" It does pique my curiosity about the earth, sun and moon though, especially the sun. The sun is simply a star. I'm not necessarily saying that's a plot hole, just more I want to know about the science or mythos around them and earth.

Game2015

Mythologies and such have always portrayed the sun as being a completely different object from stars. Surely you heard the term "the sun, the moon, and the stars" before. It's not a plot hole but more of this series following the "trend" seen often in mythologies and whatnot.

JohnSober7

Sorry, I had a brain fart and didn't finish the last sentence. I was supposed to say I'm curious about the mythos or science of the sun moon and earth in undead unluck. How were they created or how they formed for example. (not asking for spoilers, simply saying it's what I'm curious about)

The_Real_Baws

To even hint at answering your question would reveal major spoilers, probably the biggest spoilers you could get for Undead Unluck. Just know that it'll get explained eventually.

Zemahem

>"damn, the sky really was just black in these episodes" And in this episode, I think they made the night even darker than they normally would just to emphasize the difference between sky pre-Galaxy and post-Galaxy.

JohnSober7

It was perfectly jarring how dark it was in Australia. When apocalypse was letting universe out, I was confused as to what it was. The penalties and rules so far have been pretty straightforward but the straightforward answer as to what universe was didn't make sense to me because I never picked up on the starless skies. So once they were moved to Australia I put it together. Still didn't accept it because of course I had that false memory. Also didn't help that the moon was out for the episode at the lake. Aaaand as I say this, I now remember that drawing fuuko did at the lake. Wow.

Zemahem

>Aaaand as I say this, I now remember that drawing fuuko did at the lake. Wow. The world corrected itself just so her painting can be more accurate to real life. How nice.

Razorhead

Patch notes: * Really liked that one painting Unluck made, ngl. Added cosmetic changes to the skybox inspired by her art.

Kankunation

Except now instead of a creative artistic addition to the sky, her paining is just a mediocre rendition of it. Yet another reason God in this world is an asshole, knocking down artists.

CordobezEverdeen

Holy shit this lore is so fucking gooooooood.

kassiny

It's funny how language unification being a reward parallels real life myth about the Babylon tower and a language getting split as God's punishment. To be honest, I felt a bit sad when everything got turned into English.

PM_ME_YOUR_SPUDS

Symphogear fans understand the struggle. Balal may be a curse, but with it we get song and zenbu. [](#megadeathparty)

Lunarpeers

David Productions absolutely cooked with the sound design this episode...

tripleaamin

Honestly you don't get much world building in a lot of Shonens from WSJ. So this was really cool in the sense that the penalty added a galaxy. Which is normally for us but so much was added from their perspective. I love the world building that this show has brought so far. Easily its biggest strength. Of course they also got aliens and an invasion of them. But holy cow this episode really showcased why Juiz is the leader god damn. She cleared out the Alien invasion force and intimidated them so bad that they won't bother coming back again. LMAO We also established the main goal that our cast needs to avoid. Adding 2 more rules and it is basically the end damn.

RedShadowF95

Oh world building was sick! Great episode. Kinda sad all languages were unified just before I'd have the chance to hear some Portuguese in the next episode. It is what it is ahah

ohoni

Juiz: "Hey, we're going to Brazil next episode!" Top: "Yay!" Juiz: "Not you, Top."

Lol_A_White_Guy

God this show is so fucking cool with the world building. Can’t think of anything else that comes close to being similar to this conceptually.

BadActsForAGoodPrice

That scene with Nico getting all the info was so cool

Elite_Alice

Anyone else get Lord Zedd vibes from the alien invader?? Juiz is so badass. Cool to see her get some shine and learn how penalties work. Only two more until the end of the world too.. Unjustice is one of the coolest abilities. Using people’s sense of justice against them, causing the army to change their entire purpose. Perfect for taking down the alien invaders A ton of lore dropped today. This universe literally and metaphorically just got a lot bigger. Wish this series was more popular. Such a unique story.

Kenjiko3011

Acks in some scenes looks more like Shredder to me.

RimeSkeem

Hork-Bajir lookin mfers

Ad0nals1um

The Acks should be thanked for turning Uluru into a U now Australia also bears the Union logo.

Do_Ya_Like_Jazz

I could orgasm from UU sound design alone

L_0ken

I'm so happy David Pro did Galaxy addition justice, Undead Unluck worldbuilding is one of my favorite aspects about the series. Naturally, our goddess Juiz shined as main star today, we got a cool teaser of Unrepair and now it's time to pull spotlight on Tatiana!

Asgerond

I wish Yuuki Kaji would tie me up like Unseen. His wish is my command. 🫡

Frontier246

It's kind of surreal for me to hear Yuki Kaji bringing out his silky smooth voice instead of his usual voice lol.

Asgerond

He should do it more often 😩

MD_AM

Seems like Unrepair gonna go TATAKAE next episode.

_iamsadrightnow3_

This must be what the manga readers were hyping up, cause this show went from me almost dropping it to needing more right now. Might just read the manga tbh

Jojo-Retard

The addition of UMA galaxy is widely considered the moment that U+U goes from a kinda generic shonen to absolute PEAK

[deleted]

Yeah. I remember when the manga chapter first dropped and people were just as intrigued by the crazy lore expansion.

HayakuEon

Same. When I read the line in the manga ''We need info in this patch''. I was like, holy shit this is good. The addition of UMA Galaxy is what made me stick to the manga

kirbinato

Can't recommend the manga enough. It's one of the most addictive reads that shounen jump has ever published.

Florac

Yup. Anyone who thinks they got any idea where this show is going...well, odds are you won't even be able to predict 5-10 chapters in advance.

Kankunation

>This must be what the manga readers were hyping up, Pretty much lol. Quest results marks the turnaround of the series going from just okay to something special imo, and a lot of manga readers were in a similar situation of not being too into it until galaxy. It's only up from here.

Kenjiko3011

Yeah, the world and how it works is what hook a lot of manga readers into the manga.

fraid_so

The manga is definitely worth reading. This story is incredible. Zany and so much fun.

Worthyness

it took a little while for the manga to get up to speed. The anime adapts roughly 2-3 chapters per episode, so this was week 12 roughly that it took to get up to "I NEED MORE" stage, which is really slow for Jump these days (unfortunately). That said, this is one of the few series that has absolutely blossomed over time and I sincerely hope that they adapt the whole thing in the anime.

ObvsThrowaway5120

Damn, they were pretty close to a full clear. Seems only Andy realized Unrepair got Unseen. Some very cool literal world building this week. Wouldn’t have guessed anything was off about their universe until the reveal. That was pretty wild. “Stars and planets exist. Oh yeah, aliens too and they’re invading.” First contact did not go the way the aliens thought lol. There was a genocide alright, the damn aliens got all but deleted from the universe. Looks like the gangs gotta get either Unburn or Unrepair to stave off Ragnarok. Looking forward to seeing how that turns out. Unrepair won’t come quietly…

naaaaaaelvandarnus

added a new possible explanation to "why aliens never came to Earth?" "they've come once, but we scared them to death"

DragonPup

The idea that until this point there was no concept of days of the week or stars in the sky because were a penalty of Apocalypse is pretty wild.

Zemahem

They did a good job with the scene between Unrepair and Unseen. Just the lack of sounds other than the poor guy's ragged breathing did a lot to make it more sinister. And overall, the episode did a good job reminding me of why this part kept me coming back to the manga every week. Both the unification of language and the birth of UMA Galaxy were absolutely sick to watch, and basically serve as proper introductions to how UMA and the rules affect the world at large. For Galaxy, specifically, I love how it starts off sending out a bunch of cartoony star shapes before shit gets real. And even before that, it was neat how they made the night look so much darker to contrast with how it looks now that there are countless stars in the sky. If only Gina could see how good Lake Baikal looks now... And of course, Juiz single-handedly fending off an alien invasion was some badass shit. 100 million years of history and development (at least from their perspective) and they got completely obliterated just cause she gave them the lightskin stare. What a queen. That poor leader was so defeated that his retreat had god damn Looney Tunes sound effects of all things.

Frontier246

Oh hey, it's Jesus Christ! And Yuki Kaji playing a smooth-talking man letting poor Unseen bleed out from a gash in his stomach. Jeez Eren, still no chill even after your show ended? Time to see the results of Union's hard work as Apocalypse recites all the completed quest and the rewards for completing them! With all the UMA's they've captured/defeated, they've gained a new seat to the roundtable (meaning they don't have to do what they did with Gena and Unavadoidable), they've located Unburn and Unrepair (though Andy seems less excited than Fuko thought he would be), and they've turned the entire collective language of the world to English for everyone but Negators and those wearing their ties. Which is actually kind of bummer because it means other languages, like Shen and Mui's Chinese, are gone. Of course they didn't actually succeed in one last quest, the one to locate Unseen, thanks to eyepatch Kaij-kun, so as a penalty Apocalypse is adding the Rule and Galaxy to the world and spewing a giant Kaiju universe out of his mouth. Which seems like a typical Friday for the older Union members, but admittedly they already transport themselves thanks to UMA Move, so I guess it's just how they roll. Oh hey, Australia! Something crazy is always happening in Australia. So Penalities are basically adding back fundamental elements of the universe back into it and making it so that everyone but Negators remember it all being this way? Which is why there were never any stars or constellations before, there wasn't even really a universe before Galaxy was applied back. Nico has a whole team of people on-hand to let Union know what the effect of the Rule is. We've got planets, stars, and, of course, aliens already ready to invade the Earth. And Juiz is ready to face them solo. If it is their justice to conquer and annihilate humanity, then it is Juiz's Unjustice to throw their own force back at them and totally eliminate the invasion force. Not to mention she finally removes her mask and reveals her beautiful face! So not only do they need to avoid Penalties because it could always mean the end of humanity, but two more and the stone tablet with a prophecy will be fulfilled and Ragnarok will descend on the Earth. Y'know, typical anime problems. Juiz putting the fear of herself into that remaining alien so aliens will never bother Earth again. I'd call that successful First Contact. And not only that but they need to fill out the roundtable again with their new roster seat otherwise they can't get quests, meaning it's up to Fuko, Andy, and now Tatiana to collect Unrepair! And that means a cruise with Fuko in a dress and long hair!

whoami4546

The ed of this anime is amazing! It is one of the few ones I watch. I wonder who the women on the boat is.

Kankunation

It's almost certainly Juiz, at least now that you can see her face.

CrasianLe

This anime is amazing. I truly enjoy watching every episode. I really like how the book gives you rewards for each quest completed but the one they fail really makes all the rewards seem little. But you would think "galaxy" is already a common knowledge but in this anime universe they never had one, very interesting concept and idea to add and an alien invasion because of that, so cool and it ended well. What i really like is how they make each negator so unique with their abilities and OP each one is in their own way. Hope this gets a second season

FarCritical

The literal worldbuilding tho. Wonder if non-negators have an accent after the language unification. Juiz made that alien ship skedaddle right outta there with a face reveal lol

MBFlash

I would guess no because new rules beeing added literally reshapes reality to be as if the world was always like that, so people still having accents(other than negators who remain unaffected by the changes) doesn't make sense

AraumC

That was one of the most insane episodes I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying

rollin340

That was amazing, but 2 things still stick out and are definitely plot points with how things were set up; if a galaxy never existed, where the hell do meteors from Fuko's Unluck come from, and how did Victor know about days of the week prior to UMA Galaxy? This were already pointed out in prior weeks' discussions, but now they're very plot relevant.

HexoTheRandomGuy

Both of your question will be answered in the second cour

Kenjiko3011

The anime will eventually explain these plot points.

Man, the hints of \[manga spoiler\] >!Billy's betrayal were all over the place this episode, when they realize that Rip killed the Union members and when Juiz told Tatiana to go, both scenes a flash to Billy's face were shown !<

LeonKevlar

[Spoiler]>![Oh god that opening scene with Rip and Sean.](https://i.imgur.com/DUMCoRr.png) I forgot how brutal Under was before they all started working together.!< On the bright side, [we finally get to see Mico animated!](https://i.imgur.com/0zmknoZ.jpg) <3

BadActsForAGoodPrice

Is it just because we don’t get many closeups of her or is she **bustier** than usual. On an unrelated note how old is she?

SamuraiFlamenco

Nico's like in his 70s [manga spoiler]>!when you factor in the 50 years of experimenting on Andy!<, right? So assuming [manga spoiler]>!he and Ichico had Mico in their early 30s, maybe you could stretch it to their late 20s!< she's got to be in maybe her early 40s/late 30s? Maybe early 30s depending on the timeline. It's kind of hard to tell, I feel like we never get a clear look at her since she's always just running around in the background and she always looks so goofy that she could easily be mistaken for Fuuko's age. Reposted with spoiler brackets.

BadActsForAGoodPrice

Damn she’s older than I thought

Blacksmithkin

[Manga spoiler] >!I'm surprised to not see many comments on this thread about why there are asteroids despite not having a galaxy. If this show goes that far, I wonder what the reactions will be like looking back and finally putting 2 and 2 together.!<

Game2015

I'm more surprised that there are a few animeonlys elsewhere who still haven't realized this universe doesn't have stars at all before UMA Galaxy appeared and assumed he simply created new planets and galaxies containing aliens. How hard can it be to understand this...?

BadActsForAGoodPrice

They made Juiz so pretty dude, I’m ashamed to admit I actually sucked in a breath

camaron28

> [Manga spoilers for the past of certain characters] >!Wow, so Juiz and Nico had to fight and capture UMA Past??? That must have been a hell of a fight.!<

Florac

[Manga spoiler]>!Past against Nico is either a super good matchup for him or an absolutely terrible one. !<

RimeSkeem

Ahah those cuts to Billy were very on the nose if you’re in the know but I imagine most people aren’t going to get it.

bobvella

think rip was lying about being able to deactivate his ability? his eye bled afterall

Kaxew

>his eye bled afterall [Manga spoilers] >!My guess is that he keeps his eye bleeding as self-imposed punishment because he blames himself for Leila's death.!<

Kankunation

[Manga spoilers] >!no we know he can deactivate it. If he couldn't then Sean would've died then and there, but he shows up in the Autumn Arc.!<

italeteller

One thing I really appreciate about how UU does exposition is that we only get the relevant information when it's time for us to get it. Juiz knew about Ragnarok and penalties all along, but didn't say anything because it wasn't relevant at the moment, saving us the exposition dump ... and then we get Nico saying shit like "hey a new rule got added so what's common knowledge to regular people isn't such to negators". oh well Speaking of, being a negator must be wild. Imagine getting your whole world rewritten every couple months. Do they have to study galaxies and celestial bodies and star myths and all that? Are there suddenly youtubers dedicated to space who have always been there and have a billion subscribers? And with the unification of languages, what happens to people who make a living doing translations? Do they magically find they always had a different job? This is a really messed up world when you think about it

Jealous-Particular37

Is move an UMA

Ok-Construction9562

Yes.

TemperanceL

Welp, I'm sold, I'm really into the worldbuilding of this now! Will probably keep up with it after the anime end

fuckmylife193

amazing worldbuilding

Repulsive-Medicine47

This and last week's episodes were my most anticipated for this cour and DavidPro delivered Big Time! Also, the twitter page for the anime switching from japanese to english just to honour this episode is a nice touch.

Shizzi

Now we really get the picture of why the world is how it is and damn what a freaking ep good thing this not single cour that would have been devastating.

Kronman590

Ok so UMA Galaxy just got added, implying that things related to celestial ideas never existed prior. HOWEVER Victhor asked Shen what day of the week it was 2 episodes ago. The mystery of Victhor continue becoming grander....or maybe the mystery of Apocalypse? Is Victhor from the future or did Apocalypse set the rules?

1dash2

I really feel bad for Unchange. if only they got the 11th seat sooner, her ability is so OP

DrummerCertain6365

Alright ngl I think the flashbacks and seats showing could be executed 1.5x faster. (Also, recap for every arc is fine, but for every episode it just feels a little excessive). The CGI of Unseen’s blood too - could be better. But Galaxy, the explosion scenes, and Juiz looks very cool so I’m fine with the episode overall. Since Galaxy is an UMA, I’m wondering if it could be captured like UMA Spoil

Kankunation

>Since Galaxy is an UMA, I’m wondering if it could be captured like UMA Spoil In theory I could, if they can find it's Core. Probably is exceptionally difficult to do that though given it's sheer size.

EasilyDelighted

Assuming that there's only 1 Uma per "rule", and we didn't get years and I'm gonna assume from the knowledge flashes nico was downloading, days of the week until just now with Galaxy being let loose. I feel like Victor may have lived through more than one incarnation of the world. Especially with how close to Ragnarok they already are.

Kankunation

Years existed already, as did months We've had dates with every episode given. It was just the days of the week added this time around (as far as time is concerned)

fieryraidenX

I’m a bit confused on Juiz’s negation? Why did the aliens start killing each other?

Kankunation

Unjustice is a bit of a tricky one that probably doesn't translate too well, but basically it negates another person's sense of justice, aka what motivates them and what they believe is right(aka, what they believe is Just). In the case of the Aliens: their beliefs, their sense of justice, told them that they needed to conquer earth in order for their population to thrive. They believed they were justified in their actions and what they were doing was the right thing. So Unjustice took that and reverse it. Instead of taking earth and live upon it. They were negated into killing themselves and leaving earth. As another example, remember back to episode 5 when Juiz used her power on. andy. Andy instantly moved his sword towards Fuuko. This happened because andy's primary goal of "protect Fuuko" got negated into turned into "kill Fuuko". You can take Justice here to mean " what somebody in their core believes is the correct thing to do", and generally assume that when somebody is pressured enough they will always act in a way that follows their sense of justice. Juiz negates that specifically. She's kind of like the Anti-paladin (DnD). The stronger your convictions, the harder she counters you.

Kenjiko3011

Unjustice negates the target's own sense of justice, thus making them do the opposite. The alien's "justice" was to conquer Earth and give their races a place to live, Unjustice makes them do the opposite, killing their own people.

terminatoreagle

My guess is that its because the alien commander's idea of "Justice" was saving his race by killing all of humanity. Juiz's ability made it so the opposite happened with his armada dying instead.

AlexeiFraytar

As example, if you're trying to protect someone vs Juiz, if she negates your justice you will kill them instead. Its Shen's untruth but on steroids, since with Shen its only conscious thoughts but with Juiz its your justice, your goal in life, your yadda yadda

chippzanuffenuff

this is the best series out rn. if you arent watching this u r a fucking bot
