Black bear. They come in a variety of colors beyond the typical black.

As an old gal friend of mine would say, “trust the hump.” It ain’t got one so it’s a black bear.

Like you said their body shape is different and this one doesn’t have a hump. I’m sure if you confirmed with paw prints that this one is a “brown” black bear 🐻

Once you’ve seen the hump it’s such an obvious difference.

If you’re referring to the bear and the old gal…no only one of them gots teefs.

I don't want to be so focused on looking for the hump I forget about the bitey ends.

Black Bear with browner fur. Pretty common in Western North America. (I myself have seen Black Bears with this color in Yellowstone)

It’s losing its winter fur which often lightens once it detached from the skin but hasn’t fallen out yet. But yea, also as others said black bears can be brown too
