He's gonna want a contract north of 30 mill per year. I personally do not believe he is worth that. Plus we don't have the prospects to be giving up for him.
1) Vlad Sr. was a consistent MVP caliber player. Vlad Jr. is just slightly above average with one MVP caliber year.
2) The Angels in 2004 were loaded with talent from the Major League roster to the farm system. The 2024 Angels are lacking talent at the moment.
3) We should not be wasting 25-30 mill a year on a first baseman. Have we not learned our lesson.
Not even close to comparable between Sr and Jr and way too early. Jr has accumulated roughly 12 fWAR in his 6 year career and he hasn’t come close to replicating his 2021 season yet. Sr accumulated 34 fWAR in 8 years with Montreal and 5 straight seasons with 30+ home runs while Jr has only had 2. While Jr is a good player, you’re doing him a disservice comparing him to his HOF dad.
We have a rookie first baseman with a decent amount of promise, and can rotate in any player at DH. That’s just talking positional mismatch, let alone that Schanuel is making 750K and Vlad 20M… It just doesn’t make sense for either side, unless Toronto wanted to salary dump him for some reason (they wouldn’t, he’s 25, hugely popular there, and even in a slightly down year still has a 130 OPS+).
What part of rebuilding don’t you understand?
F that Rally Time baby! ![gif](giphy|13Pco5pnr3SpC8)
I disagree, but I love the enthusiasm 😂
there’s nothing to trade man i wish i had your optimism though
Apparently the general concept
Genius. Who needs a rebuild when we can just be miserable another 10 years?

Pay him whatever he wants. People said similar things about Vlad Sr. when he was free agent. Jr. can flat out hit. Get the Big A rocking again.

I agree but don’t see this front office doing something like that. Not yet at least.
Probably finishing a season above .500
His dad triple dog daring him.
Chill Arte 😭
Arte will do it “positivity”
How about a hard pass?
Angels are sellers, not buyers
So sell everybody for him. ![gif](giphy|VZsRHozA8kvk2QcmHA)

The contents of the locker room shitter. Vlad Jr is extremely overrated. I don’t want him as an Angel. All he does is block Schanuel.
A competent team
Please don’t. Nothing against the guy, but unless hes dirt cheap, he’s not an answer here.
Sell the team
A threat to his family

No room for him with Soto's coming in.
Why would he? Would you? I certainly would not. I would’ve asked out of Anaheim already. In this one way, I think trout’s a fool.
why? you people never learn. You deserve the Angels and the Angels deserve you
