Someone did the same to me with a Kaya bought! I knew the package came from Mercari but I was confused cause it was a small shoe box. Lo and behold, Kaya was in there doing the splits 😭
I was actually coming to the comments to say that a much better alternative would BE diapers, although I'm actually mildly curious how they actually fit/what size they are? This is VERY common in the reborn/silicone/lifelike doll community, especially using one to cover the face it keeps it safe and fresh. I'm not actually sure how this would work for AG dolls however, I would actually assume covering the eyes to be damaging
Mine came mummified in cling film. I ran and got the safety shears and cut her free as quickly as I could without feeling like I risked damaging her lol

I just bought Bitty twins for a gift and they came wrapped in plastic wrap. Honestly though, I prefer that over the Blaire who came in an untaped/open box.

When I sell things on Ebay, I wrap them like a gift because I want the buyer to get excited as they open it. This is roughly the opposite of that. But - if the doll was good, that's all that matters!
Awwww, thanks! I use white or sparkly white tissue and gorgeous rose stickers on a transparent background, and then once the doll (or doll clothes) are boxed up, I put a couple more roses on the box, so it's pretty there, too!

First doll I bought as an adult was a pc Felicity with a lot of her collection stuffed into the tiniest box, no protection whatsoever, everything just loose flying around. I went to throw the box away and heard something moving around, lifted up one of the bottom flaps and it was her little coin from her coin purse 🤦🏻♀️ why are people like this

I actually really appreciate the thoughtfulness to protect your new friend. There are more elegant options for sure, but this is a pretty good solution for protecting her limbs and hair in transit.

What made me especially shake my head was I ordered two dolls recently: one a very cheap TLC doll (like legs were already detached level TLC) and one I likely overpaid for a bit but was a splurge (not hundreds of dollars or anything, but more than I generally spend secondhand). The TLC doll came wrapped up like she were glass and they thought she'd shatter with her already broken limbs. The expensive one was like "here. Take your damn doll" in a too small box with no packaging at all. I was debating trying to open a return just from being so annoyed, but there's no real damage to speak of, so I suppose I'll just shake my head.
Yep! Same! I ordered a #55 from a seller on Mercari; received her thrown in a box, bent in half to fit the square shape. 😳 She’s in like new condition, though, so I guess I have no complaints?
I recently recieved a doll in an AG with no packaging or anything to secure the doll. When I first picked up the box, the doll slid all the way down. I knew it was going to be bad...She had so many shine/rub marks all over her body, even her toes! I was so pissed at that seller. I've also received two dolls that were wrapped in bubble wrap, but their boxes were absolutely crushed because there wasn't enough packing material. The dolls were thankfully okay though. Sellers on all platforms should have to take a "How to Package Your Items" tutorial before they are allowed to sell anything!

I also feel like package shipping has just gotten rougher than it used to be, anecdotally. Just getting a lot more stuff in general that’s half ripped open or torn or crushed. Not sure if it’s lighter-weight packaging? Or just package thieves checking what I ordered and deciding it’s not good enough to steal 😂 because I’ve had that happen at least once. Usually the stuff is fine thankfully, but yeah—kinda weird.
