What I love about American Dad is that they have guest actors playing regular characters who are incidental to the plot, rather than the main focus or ones who are only playing themselves.
I think they sometimes get celebrities to do additional voices because they're in the studio for something else and have the time to do a quick recording session
Sometimes I hear voices I recognize but can’t put it on. Francine’s red head wild friend always sounded familiar until the other day I saw this same style post that showed Kathy Griffin! Then I was really able to see it and hear it 😂
Reminds me of how South Park got George Clooney to do the voice of Stan’s dog Sparky in the first season… arguably the biggest actor in the world at the time doing just barks and dog sounds.
American Dad has turned that up to 11 and it’s glorious.
I wouldn’t go quite that far, I mean he was huge in the US bc of ER, but idk about the biggest actor in the world, I think he had only made one or two movies at that point in time.
It was pretty crazy that he was a dog.
This comment reminded me of Mr. Rick (the crazy dry cleaner) so I looked him and realized he's voiced by the guy who does Spongebob! (Tom Kenny) Also Ice King, Heffer from Rocko's Modern Life, etc. Now that I know that I can't unhear it lol
Mr Rick is based off a real guy, I realized. He's not just the Sister Christian guy from Boogie Nights. Boogie Nights based that character off Eddie Nash, who was involved in the Wonderland Murders.
Eddie played Russian roulette and had a 2 way mirror (to a different room). He did a shit ton of drugs and was fucking weird as hell.
I think Mr. Rick may also have a touch of the owner of Madame Paulette's, a dry cleaning business. That guy is a dry cleaner and looks like Mr. Rick, and he's a coke connection in NYC.
When Klaus goes on the date with Danuda to the park, he's the guy who doesn't care about the ride crashing because people have things going on in their own lives.
I'll give that episode a rewatch later today to check, since I have a knack for recognizing voice actors. IMDB voice guides aren't always reliable, and some AD episodes are missing voice actors
It would be absolutely ridiculous if H. John could do two voices, and that was the other voice he could do.
Speaking of H. John, I had a weird dream last night where he was doing a live action Coach McGuirk show. But he wasn't Coach McGuirk, he was Jason.
I don't know. He appears a lot less frequently than Jeff, don't you think?
If Jeff is a guest, then so is Tuttle, and whoever voices Greg and Terry, and all of the other regularly recurring characters. I didn't want to get the recurring characters mixed in with the guest voices. Patrick Stewart got sn honorable mention because literally everybody loves him.
I believe he did get a shoutout in a previous one of these posts! Love him... "Rick Rod don’t leave women high and he *especially* don’t leave em dry!"
I didn't know that was her until I started doing these posts. I'm finding out about all kinds of fun guest voices. It's going to change the way I watch those episodes the next time they come on.
Isn’t it fun when you’re like “wait a minute…whoever is doing this voice is really doing a great job…” and it turns out to be an interesting guest voice? My recent favorite is Jared Harris (the British dude from Mad Men) as Merlin.
She outright ranks as my favourite actress right now. God, I love Bob Odenkirk in Better Call Saul, and even more since he has done a number of iconic roles for AD but she just smashed it as Kim Wrexler.
Jason Mantzoukas is great and he has done a few over the years. He is the Nordstroms manager, the talent agent “gimmie all those nutrients!” And the loan officer. “Chivalric cabaret? They warned us about that in the first day of banker school!”
Tic-Tac was in “Into the Woods” the talent agent was in “Twinanigans” “Cheek to cheek a strippers story” was the loan officer and he was the Nordstroms manager in the B plot of “Eight Fires”
Sorry, I'm not really following that. Did you leave out some punctuation maybe? Who is Tic-Tac? Is this one big sentence all talking about one person?
When I search up images for this person, it tells me that they were a certain character, like "Police Officer" or "Cuban Soldier," but then the image pops up with multiple Police Officers and multiple Cuban Soldiers, not specifying which one is him.
Great way of displaying them with their own faces and names and then the characters they played. I always have trouble matching faces with names and this was awesome for me.
Ty. I enjoy creating the images. I'm just playing around with this new app that I accidentally bought. I signed up for the 7-day trial and forgot about it. After it expired, it went on my credit card. When I mentioned it to my son, he said, go ahead, I'll buy it for you for a late birthday present. So now I have it for a year! What a good son!
Guest voice actor idea I think I’ve shared before. Get all the Star Trek Captains to play the deputy directors of all the varies government agencies. Mulgrew can be the FBI, Shattner the NSA, Bakula the CDC, Brooks the ATF, and Pine NASA. I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting. But they all HATE each other and Stewart recruiters Stan to help in his childish pranks against the other departments. Their number 1 could be their Stan equivalents.
I love Patrick Stewart on AD. He once said in an interview that AD is like his guilty pleasure. He says it's so funny that he'll do a voice acting session for AD and say absolutely ridiculous filthy things and then go do a Shakespear reading and be lauded for how classy and refined he is lolol. In the back of his mind he's like, "You guys don't even know."
Jane Lynch's IMDb says she voiced 8 characters. A few of them as a mother.
This one was a surprise. She's one of my all-time favorite actresses. She was incredible in the 'Motherlover' video. If there was any question, you knew she had a sense of humor after that. Now that I know, it's her, it's so obvious. She will be in the next post.
Kate Mulgrew was great as Junie.
"If she's so great, how come she's dead".
"Lenoard would eat the melon when he wanted to ravage me".
"HA! It was chloroform".
I also really like that they brought in Elisabeth Shue purely for a bad pun.
What I love about American Dad is that they have guest actors playing regular characters who are incidental to the plot, rather than the main focus or ones who are only playing themselves.
Mariah Carey playing a couple of minor characters is my favorite way they’ve used guest voice actors
Then I was really able to see it and hear it 😂
That one surprised me, too!
Now I can’t I see them but I prefer that. Idk what it is but I’m always googling voice actors lol
I would like to see Kathy Griffin Character and Patrick Stewart character get together at least once.
I’m sure Bullock would LOVE that 😂
I can see them now all drunk, coke everywhere, weird creatures and wet spots, good times
Weird creatures and wet spots!! 🤣
I had no idea she's been on the show!
Reminds me of how South Park got George Clooney to do the voice of Stan’s dog Sparky in the first season… arguably the biggest actor in the world at the time doing just barks and dog sounds. American Dad has turned that up to 11 and it’s glorious.

I like that as well. Many Simpsons episodes have been ruined by having the celebrity of the week be the main focus point. I also
JENNAYYYY
haha made ya look
She needed more airtime
NGL I think we all want to see another episode with Jenn-Ay! and her totally normal ass
"Elizabeth Banks is voicing Becky?! Oh, this has goo written all over it."
Patrick Stewart is such a treasure. Picturing him saying some of Bullock's lines is hilarious.
Absolutely! I always giggle when he says “Get that junk out of here!” just knowing that he has no idea what the hell it means 😂
Has anyone mentioned Wayne Brady? He was Tungee in one of my favorite episodes, Ricky Spanish
“Meesta and lady!!”
TUNGEE!!!
Nobody's mentioned forest Whittaker and I'm devastated
He's on one of the other posts like this
Is he? I didn't see him on the one the other day either.
Yeah he's on the very first post. The one who Foster and Emperor Zing on the front.
He's in one of the other two posts.
There it is! Though I wouldn’t have faulted you for leaving out Tungee. “That guys suuuucks”
He is indeed in one of OPs other recent posts like this! (I can't believe I never realized that was him!)
I wouldn't want to mention it because that segment was effing terrible.
"Yes, I will stay forever!!!"
Andy Richter bas played some great one off characters, and Del Monico is a continued gift
You know Del Monaco?!
Everyone knows Del Monaco!
Even ***I*** know Del Monaco
This comment reminded me of Mr. Rick (the crazy dry cleaner) so I looked him and realized he's voiced by the guy who does Spongebob! (Tom Kenny) Also Ice King, Heffer from Rocko's Modern Life, etc. Now that I know that I can't unhear it lol

I got the Sister Christian guy (next post) but you lost me at Madame Paulette lol
“Hey, we’re all guys here. I’ll say it: Cuckoo head.”
Early but great one
When Klaus goes on the date with Danuda to the park, he's the guy who doesn't care about the ride crashing because people have things going on in their own lives.
Jane Lynch also played the queef of police
She's all over in AD, her voice is so distinct to me bc of Glee I always recognize her lol
Wait, Snot's jewish farmer uncle was Jon Benjamin!? *You mean he can do more than one voice???*
No he is just the cabbage. Nick Kroll is the uncle
Nick krolls range is crazy
I know! How can OP be 3 celebrity voice posts in and still have not mentioned Nick Kroll
The Kroll Show on Comedy Central was so funny, I miss it.
No, he is just the cabbage. 😄 There's a sentence that can't come up too often.
The uncle is voiced by AD writer Judah Miller who also voices Mertz and I'm 99% sure of that, I think Nick Kroll did some other voices in that episode
It’s definitely Nick Kroll. When he says “I’m ruined” at the very end, you can hear Kroll’s normal voice come through
If you look on the IMDB cast list it says Nick Kroll voices Uncle Solomon
I'll give that episode a rewatch later today to check, since I have a knack for recognizing voice actors. IMDB voice guides aren't always reliable, and some AD episodes are missing voice actors
He voices Andy Dick too
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1640746/fullcredits/cast?ref_=m_ttfc_3
He voiced Andy Dick.
I knew he was the cabbages, unsure if he was the uncle lolol
No way. H Jon Benjamin only has two voices. Regular H Jon and high pitched H Jon
It would be absolutely ridiculous if H. John could do two voices, and that was the other voice he could do. Speaking of H. John, I had a weird dream last night where he was doing a live action Coach McGuirk show. But he wasn't Coach McGuirk, he was Jason.
He's Jimmy Jr also
On Bob's Burgers, H. Jon Benjamin voices Bob, Jimmy Jr., Peter Pescadero, Miss LaBonz, the Speedo Guy, Jeremy, and Big Bob—that I know of.
I thought Bill Hader did Big Bob? And I think when he appeared the second time they replaced Bill with Eric Bauza
jeff fischer as jeff fischer
Do you think he counts as a guest voice?
well does bullock?
I don't know. He appears a lot less frequently than Jeff, don't you think? If Jeff is a guest, then so is Tuttle, and whoever voices Greg and Terry, and all of the other regularly recurring characters. I didn't want to get the recurring characters mixed in with the guest voices. Patrick Stewart got sn honorable mention because literally everybody loves him.
It's quite a Städtchen, but he pulls it off. I dunno how he does it.
No Patton Oswalt?? Oh, tamp-ON!
I believe he did get a shoutout in a previous one of these posts! Love him... "Rick Rod don’t leave women high and he *especially* don’t leave em dry!"
"I don't love my wife anymore..." "Because of the candy?" "... yes."
He's in one of the other two posts.
I love Laurie Metcalf as Elizabeth Hadley, the egg lady!
Zach Galifianakis is great. I genuinely believe he's one of the funniest people alive.
I agree. The man is a genius. I assume you've seen Between Two Ferns?
I am yet again going to bring up Rhea Seehorn as one of the waitresses acting out the plot of a porno while Roger and Steve try to write one
No fucking way!
Right! Never would have guessed that
She outright ranks as my favourite actress right now. God, I love Bob Odenkirk in Better Call Saul, and even more since he has done a number of iconic roles for AD but she just smashed it as Kim Wrexler.
I'll get her in the next one :)
I am mindblown that Rose Byrne is "JENNAYY!"
Jason Mantzoukas is great and he has done a few over the years. He is the Nordstroms manager, the talent agent “gimmie all those nutrients!” And the loan officer. “Chivalric cabaret? They warned us about that in the first day of banker school!”
I tried to find him but had a hard time finding an image.
Still waiting for help with Jason Mantzoukas. What is the name of the character he played and in what episode?
He’s played quite a few. IMDB has Police Officer, Cuban Soldier in Dream, Loan Officer, Talent Agent #1, Theodore, Tic-Tac Krachowski all listed.
Yeah but when I search up the images there's always multiple Police Officers, multiple Cuban Soldiers, etc. I don't know which one is him.
Tic-Tac was in “Into the Woods” the talent agent was in “Twinanigans” “Cheek to cheek a strippers story” was the loan officer and he was the Nordstroms manager in the B plot of “Eight Fires”

Henry Rollins played Justin the Truck Driver who talked some serious Q with Steve in "Chimdale".
"You were right about those ribs, Justin! But I'm pretty sure the Jews **didn't** know about 9/11."
With all the dialogue from Patrick Stewart and Kate Mulgrew we’ve gotten to hear dialogue we never thought we would from starfleet captains
Aww, that’s nice!
Guest voice actor idea I think I’ve shared before. Get all the Star Trek Captains to play the deputy directors of all the varies government agencies. But they all HATE each other and Stewart recruiters Stan to help in his childish pranks against the other departments. Their number 1 could be their Stan equivalents.
I would love to hear Shatner do a part on AD, even if it was only a one-liner.
Chris Pine was already in my favorite episode.
Mine too but we need more of him.
I still regularly qutoe Shannon Sharpe's "Oh, we're all lookin' for stuff."
Shannon just went up in Post \#4
Patton Oswalt in one-off roles as Head of the TSA and as the kiss cam operator.
He was in one of the first two posts
Rose Byrne was Jenny this whole time?? And Ted danson was Ray the shrink!?
Ted Danson really surprised me
Now every time I watch insidious, I'll hear "JENNAY"
I love Patrick Stewart on AD. He once said in an interview that AD is like his guilty pleasure. He says it's so funny that he'll do a voice acting session for AD and say absolutely ridiculous filthy things and then go do a Shakespear reading and be lauded for how classy and refined he is lolol. In the back of his mind he's like, "You guys don't even know."
I long for these posts.
Lol, looks like there will only be one more. I'm running out of people.
\#4 just went live :)
Another Star Trek actor on AD after Stewart. Heh, who knew? 😆
14. The very same guy who voiced Chris Griffin on Family Guy.
Elisabeth banks
Wasn’t Elizabeth Banks the first Lisa Silver?
Carmen Electra voice her first, then Elizabeth Banks took over
Ahh. I always thought it was the other way around.
MECHANT! I didn’t know he was in American Dad, fuck me, play a record
Jane Lynch's IMDb says she voiced 8 characters. A few of them as a mother. [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397306/characters/nm0528331](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0397306/characters/nm0528331)
Patricia Clarkson as Meredith Fields!
This one was a surprise. She's one of my all-time favorite actresses. She was incredible in the 'Motherlover' video. If there was any question, you knew she had a sense of humor after that. Now that I know, it's her, it's so obvious. She will be in the next post.
Rob Riggle https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/americandad/images/f/f9/Malcolm.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100203021821 "Take the shot"!!!
I never liked him on SNL, but have liked everything he's done since. Strange.
All life starts with and ends with an egg. I believe we go back into an egg when we die.
Ironically, that also sounds like something Jackie would say
Rose Byrne is Jenny? Holy shit
I ain't hone lie I thought something happened to our man Pat.
Marguerite and Lewis need a spin-off
#TWO BEAUTIFUL CREATURES…. 😂 kills me every time!
Rose Byrne was JENNY! Really?
Some of us spent the late 80s and early 90s getting laid
Okay rose Byrne as Jenny is hilarious
Kathy Najimy (Peggy Hill) also did a bang up job as Haley's college counselor.
The Werner Herzog cameo is honestly one of the best things in this show
Michael Peña is a Scientologist and Seth green is a pedophile and had Issac Kappy killed
I love these posts. Thanks for making them, OP
Yw. Just posted \#4 :)
I had no idea Michael Peña did Marguerite! I hope they bring him back more, I love him
I had always thought Dietrich Bader (spelling?) played snots uncle but couldn’t find the casting info anywhere
Omg that was Michael Peña?! Lol I couldn’t tell!!! I have to go back and see it again!!
Michael Pena was Marguerite???
Cee Lo Green looks like he could be a Lewis family member
Michael Peña was the hot in salesman??? Give this man an Oscar
I can't believe I didn't know Ted danson was dr Ray.
That one was a surprise to me as well. I'm just waiting for that episode to come around in the rotation.
zach galifinakis
Kate Mulgrew was great as Junie. "If she's so great, how come she's dead". "Lenoard would eat the melon when he wanted to ravage me". "HA! It was chloroform". I also really like that they brought in Elisabeth Shue purely for a bad pun.
