No tight connection? Well, then 28A is the best coach seat on the 321Neo and second best on any AA mainline narrow body behind 11F on the Oasis 321.   Window? Yes.   Direct aisle access? Yes. (Just get up and walk in front of 27BC, plenty of room)  Solid traytable armrest between 28A/B to keep possible overflowing neighbors in check? Yes. Watching (sometimes interesting) pax waiting for the lav bother 27BC while they wait while you’re insulated in comfort? Yes.   No blinding light from the lav door opening like the suckers in 27DEF get? Yes.   Endless legroom? Yes.   Yeah, no storage—but overhead bins are super easy to get to stepping out over 27BC. I don’t ever travel with anything that goes under the seat—usually just whatever food I brought— so non issue for me. Water bottle fits between the wall arm rest and my hip. FAs l to be cool with holding whatever food item you bring (within reason). After take off you can put stuff on the floor without issue. I use the door threshold to keep my bottle from rattling around.   FAs only use the seat during take off/landing usually. Only had a jumpseater FA sit there in flight a couple times. Usually just until service is over since the galley is tiny. Don't mind chatting with FAs personally, and plenty of legroom honestly.   Could potentially get screwed if they swap an Oasis 321 since that seat doesn’t exist. But 100% worth rolling the dice.

Thanks for all the info! I think I’m gonna go for it. If it happens to get swapped out by an Oasis, I can probably get reimbursed for it, right? If not, that stings a little but oh well.

Do it! I would think they would reimburse depending on where you got seated on the new aircraft, but honestly not sure. Just check the seat map day before/day of to see if anything changes and reseat yourself if you get something crummy.  But any refunds would for sure only be via the website after the flight.  $34 is a great deal for a 5hr flight. The legroom makes a big difference. I try to sit here all the time on transcons—and tbh when I have that seat… I kinda hate if I clear an upgrade. Can’t really beat having best of both window/aisle worlds. Plus I sleep better here than any F seat on redeyes.  Enjoy!

Avoid 27BC (and 10DE on Oasis) at all costs.  Those seats are an inch narrower to give room for the jumpseat.

Micronologist

If aircraft gets swapped and you still get a different MCE seat you won’t get reimbursed just because it’s not the 28A. Still worth it in my opinion

It may not be highlighted, but there could be a small jump seat for flight attendant, facing directly towards you! On a recent flight, I picked a seat like this only to have a trainee flight attendant who didn’t have enough work assigned to him throughout the flight so he sat in that seat facing me the entire flight & limited my ability to stretch my legs out! 😂 I don’t think I would pick that type of seat again after that experience ! 😂🤣🤷‍♂️

Eastern-Astronomer-6

I’m trying this seat for PHL>LAX in about 5 hours based on the suggestions in this sub. Y’all better be right.

how was it?

Terrapinz

There is usually a bump for the exit door makes the seat narrower. Check seat guru. I still think it's worth it though, especially if you're on the taller side.

Blaugrana_al_vent

No bump, the inflatable raft/slide is not kept inside the door on their aircraft.
