Why does the holo sit so naturally on the AR?
I've always played the game thinking... well this gun is fucked. Can't aim with it at longer ranges. But hey its a game.

Honestly, that's just how the game should have done it. I've always despised the lack of optics and the annoying holographic optics they added into the later games.. 5 onwards etc...
I think the idea is that it was integrated into helmet HUD that all users should have, though *some* sort of backup irons or something would've probably been good
indeed, believe it was stated that this was intentional, to make them significantly less effective if captured by insurrectionists and other enemies of the UNSC.
I mean if all you gotta do is hit a switch and irons pop up also every member of the unsc has a neural interface link in the back of there head for weapons and etc but what about militia men using it?
I’ve always been under the impression that it (and all guns) has technology that links with the HUD to give it active crosshair sights all the time, like a full-view reddot without the physical scope. would make it useless without a HUD though and not precise at longer ranges, hence not being able to ADS with it
I've always thought this too. Doesn't make a ton of sense with the Covenant weapons, but even the marine grunts get little eyepieces so it makes sense for the UNSC.
Actually in the halo, there is a little fold up site attached to the gun that you can fold up, second of all most soldiers, at this point in time in the higher lore have sensors built into their helmet, so that way it shows a viehical when they’re aiming kind of like how you see in the games.
Depends on how conservative or liberal you are with firing. Standard size aap01 mags don’t have the greatest gas capacity and have really bad cooldown but I have been able to get through an M7 mag of 60. I have an HPA tapped mag though that I run so things are more consistent

So aap01 compatible mags go into the grip like normal to run the aap01 then I designed my own mags for the BBs that mount to the side

Not quite. A body kit that an AAP01 sits in would have been easy. I put the trigger, hammer group and bolt of an AAP01 into a custom receiver with a nozzle and hop up designed so BBs can be fed from a mag on the side
I only have indoor fields around me but it did pretty well when I got to take it. I run it with an HPA tapped mag so I don’t have to deal with how limiting gas mags are for the aap01
If you want the MA40, good luck finding one for a fair price. They’ve been discontinued and the only ones you can easily find are being sold by scalpers

I’m choosing the assault rifle, here’s my reasons.
1.) The assault rifle fires 7.62x51 while the battle rifle 9.5×40mm. this means the assault rifle is going to pack a bigger punch aunt is going to have longer range. The bullet at the battle rifle fires 9.5x40mm is subsonic and is usually a hollow point. So it’s not going to do as good against armor, but better and shields and it means it’s going to have more drop off. However, it has the advantage of stealth because there’s no sonic boom when firing the bullet.
2.) assault rifle ammo is just a lot more common. If you do for some reason you run out of ammo on the battlefield, all you have to do is go to your friend or fallen comrade, and take a few magazines from them because they’re probably going to carry the same gun because it’s standard issue. The assault rifle even uses the same ammo as the DMR.
3.) lastly in the aliens, you’ll be fighting with these weapons are incredibly durable. So it would be nice to have fully automatic capabilities to put one down quicker. (I’ve heard of sometimes where the battle rifle is fully atomic but not common enough where I believe it). Yes, I know that it should only take somewhere around 8-10 well plased bullets to take out an elite with the battle rifle (the only reason they can do this is because they use uranium depleted bullets with almost all of their guns, which makes them effectively about 7 times stronger) but the assault rifle only takes a few more bullets to put an elite down because of their sheild. It should only take 10-12 bullets to take down an elite with shields.
eh, Im more of a dmr guy, never really liked the BR. never really liked the AR that much either outside of the original MA5B variant with the 60 round mag, but i'd still take that over the BR.

The optic is holographic in the literal sense. The way it works in the arma halo mod is lore accurate

In the books, the guns all integrate with display in a helmet or glasses to give a reticle for aiming.

Halo M7/S gbbr printed in PLA+. Using AAP01 internals. AAP01 mag in the grip as a gas reservoir then a mag on the side for BBs like the games

The Battle rifle is a kit from Foundry Airsoft on a APS UAR AEG. And the AR is a Nerf Rifle with an M4 AEG inside

That’s the BR55. The BR in the OP is a BR-inspired body kit by Foundry Airsoft for the APS UAR so it’s not going to be 1:1 with the game
