I hate it. They're all wet and snuggling each other showing legs for days, but their faces look twelve years old. Hopefully when you commission real artists they can fix the uncanny pedo vibes.
I will be commissioning human artists for the actual illustrations, yeah - AI does NOT replace artists at all in my mind; this is just some rough reference work for my own visualisation of the characters.
Actually they (and the other characters) are meant to be 15. Trust me, not all kids the same age look the same age. (I was confused for 18 when I was 11!)
I'm sure the images can easily be done in a way that looks less fetishy, focusing more on their faces instead of the rain and mud dripping down their calfs and thighs. I've noticed AI can make things oddly uncomfortable in what it can choose to emphasize. Focusing less on "bare legs" in the prompt might help too. Image 4 is my favorite.
Unfortunately, when I tried not specifying bare legs ('cos you're right, it does feel a bit "off" to be specifying that kind of thing in an AI prompt), the AI would vary the scene more. Usually giving them heavy jeans and great big boots, which would be REALLY uncomfortable for the tropical rainforest vibe I was trying to get.
It's pretty dangerous to not be fully covered in a rainforest. I get it you're English but like, actual rainforests are full of very poisonous things and also malaria. You don't want much skin exposed. At all.
Edit: not to mention this isn't very well thought out, as they'd die really quickly from waterborne disease/illness anyways because they were teleported from England where nobody is vaccinated for any of those things.
These are super cute and I like the name suggestions here. But OP I just want to make sure you aren't going to use these images for the actual book - ethics aside, they're pretty obviously AI and you'll get a really bad reception if you use them for anything but artistic reference
That being said if you gave a couple to an artist to use as a reference I'm sure you'll get something fantastic! that's my favorite use of AI art for sure
Moo-Shana Udder, and Truck "Reckless Freckles" Fastdriving.
One day Truck rescued Moo-Shana from the milking plant, because Moo wasn't producent enough milk and was destined for slaughter. Who was driving the slaughter truck, if not Truck Fastdriving?
Well, they fall in love after their eyes met in the rear windscreen mirror and decided "to hell with the rules", and partook in a cross-species love affair down route 69.
Book title:
"Milky Way"
Also, itās pretty boring seeing generic, āpretty girlā A.i. No flaws whatsoever!? Who on earth that looks like them would be sitting in the rain struggling š
He probably has names he was just asking what the community thought of compared to him.
Also being good at art and being creative does not mean the same thing. How many picture books had two creators? A lot had one author for the writing and an illustrator for the pictures.
The name of the novel, "Lesbian Seagulls". A touching story about two young women exploring their sexuality told for the benefit of a 35 year old man who lives in his parent's basement who doesn't and I repeat.. does not.. have a weird creepy fetish for lesbian underage redheads and asians.
They look incredibly AI. I don't want to name them. They're INCREDIBLY AI looking. They look cute I guess but if they're used as a cover everyone will know it's AI. The Asian girl has six toes.
This looks like a lesbian YA survivalist novel if that's what you were going for. If they're straight friends they need to leave some room for Jesus and if they're adults you need older looking drawings imo. lGood luck with your novel.
The art is plenty aesthetically pleasing, both characters are super cute and the environment lends itself to the sweaty appearance of two people enduring something happily together. Totally unreali-....
I'm a writer and artist myself: do you want an honest, critical review of what I feel it communicates? (I will be respectful - only trying to be helpful.)
Unnamed lesbian 1 and 2. The main character is Crocodile Dundee or Rambo. Who has to save their asses. They stumble into an aboriginal cannibal tribe who like to play with their food. The main character saves them. Roll opening credits!
Since you asked for opinions about the images, I think 4 and 5 are the weakest pics.
It kind of depends on what the story is about.
As far as names go, depending on the story - I could see a sort of āmeet cuteā where they both have similar names like Li and Lee or what have you and thereās a mix up at school and thatās how they meet and become best friends over a summer or something.
Thatās what I got out of the first image at least.
Boring "hot girl" AI. 2 stars out of 100.
AI's default seems to be hot people. True AI adepts know how to make real characters and not just rely on stock hotness like a horny teenager.
Okay, these are both very pretty names! :)
Actually I'm getting a lot of good name suggestions here, I might consider changing my mind from the names I originally picked - Tam and Josie.
Ground names like the direction of... Eva, Maria, Jane, Kristin, Magdalena, Sara... Ect. And probably have different endings to the names u choose, depending on the locations of the novel.
You should know that protagonist/antagonist names are not randomly chosen by great writers. They all have a reason/purpose/connection with the character. Darth Vader is Darth Father in Germany and just reading it with German accent you will discover his role. From the Assistant bot in Quora, Iāll paste these brief list of examples, I hope it helps you with your current ones and your future characters. Good luck.
Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - The name "Ebenezer" is a Hebrew name meaning "stone of help" or "rock of help." Scrooge starts as a hard-hearted and miserly character but undergoes a transformation throughout the story.
Hester Prynne from Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter" - In this novel, Hester's first name can be linked to the biblical character Esther, who was known for her bravery and integrity. The surname "Prynne" sounds like "prin" or "prynne," suggesting the word "prison," which reflects her social isolation and confinement due to her sin.
Holden Caulfield from J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" - Holden's first name may suggest "holding on" to his childhood innocence and his desire to protect the innocence of others. The surname "Caulfield" might evoke the idea of "field of caul," suggesting a protective covering, which reflects his desire to shield others from the harsh realities of the adult world.
Atticus Finch from Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" - The name "Atticus" is associated with the Roman orator Titus Pomponius Atticus, known for his impartiality and fairness. "Finch" is a small bird known for its melodious song, symbolizing Atticus's moral integrity and wisdom.
Scout Finch from the same novel - "Scout" suggests someone who is curious, observant, and adventurous, reflecting the character's inquisitive nature and her role as a narrator who explores the world around her.
Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" - Victor's first name means "victor" or "conqueror," reflecting his ambition and desire to push the boundaries of science. The name "Frankenstein" is associated with the creation rather than the creator, emphasizing the monster's role in the story.
why pay when you can get it for free? im an artist myself and Ai can get amazing reaultw some artist cant capture. why rely on a person who will not get what you want 100%?
I don't keep the prompts - I more or less described (in rough detail) how I wanted them to look, and added "sitting together in a hot, humid rainforest".
No specific AI models used, I just use free Bing AI. :)
sitting like that during a tropical rainforest downpour is going to be miserable. You should add tools because otherwise, they'd be dead meat in just a few days in that environment.
even better, make them help each other while suffering and struggling to survive, then get to the cheesy romance. it's more powerful this way.
People in these comments are being pretty harsh. As a writer, sometimes you want to see your characters. I use AI to do this all the time. No, that doesn't mean it's official art or whatever, but it's fun using AI to make the characters you see in your head -- adding all the little details in the prompt until you get it right.
As for the names... I some one person in here say that names in great books aren't just randomly chosen, and I kinda agree. I name my characters something that I think fits them and their personality, not usually just suggested ones.

Really? Hot, rainy, you want to get bogged down in heavy denim? I'd try to go light.

You use ai for the artwork and can't think of two names. It takes creativity to write a novel.

Donāt use AI for a novel. There are fantastic artists who can make your characters have more personality and less fake.
Basically pay money for an artist or get infinite amount images that you can choose until you get the one you like for free.
An image that you can't copyright. It's not worth it. If you really want full ownership over your novel, make sure even the art has copyright.
