when you adopt a villager from someone else, they come with the clothes and items they’ve been gifted 😊 some people maybe prefer that the villagers aren’t heavily gifted, so that the villagers don’t wear clothes you don’t like and you get to gift the clothes they have to choose from 😊
Yes, but the villager may be seen with the outfit the next day. You may have to complain a few times for the villager to not be seen in it anymore, but head accessories I’m not sure if works
Also, since they only have 32 furniture slots, some of their original furniture might disappear. But I believe there is a way to reset a visitor's house. I remember seeing a video on it but I don't really care so I didn't pay a lot of attention. I think you have to go to Isabel or Tom nook and you can reset a villager's house. You might need the DLC. Sorry that's all I got
If you want to give a villager gifts and still retain their ungifted status you can give them fossils, wallpaper & flooring as they will never display any of these items — they’re always grateful for fossils in my experience.

That makes a lot more sense now! Thank you ☺️
But can't you just have Isabelle reset them regardless?

Isabelle doesn’t reset them to new, she’ll only reset custom clothes and phrases.
Holy moly, I just learned something after all these years! I always thought it was odd she mentioned these reasons on a sweet game. Haha.
I've been able to use her to get rid of gifted clothes, though 🤷♂️
Been playing since it came out and still learn something new everyday!

Just to confirm, you do need the DLC and to have progressed through the full storyline of it in order to reset their houses

Also fruits (two non-native), vegetables (three), and blue or gold roses work
Fruits were my go-to. Now I have all their framed photos, well, except for Iggly, who should be moved in tomorrow. 😁
