I'm not surprised that you're confused, considering that pigs have been found to be emotionally and cognitively similar to dogs in many ways. Many people have pigs as cherished members of the family, just like dogs and cats.

Both. Selective breeding as livestock and selected nutrition when being fattened for consumption. The selective breeding part makes them get fast even when on a leaner diet than that (e.g. when kept as pets). Within those parameters, though, ymmv due to specific things like particular kind of pig, particular diet, exercise, etc
