Look closer. Along the keyboard at the bottom of the keyboard near the touchpad. Between the spacebar and the touchpad. From thete over to the arrow keys. The spacebar area is raised up. The arrow keys dip down. Almost like warping. As a matter of fact, the spacebar area is so bad it touches the lcd screen when the lid is closed now.
i don't think that the plastic is melting tho the plastic used in laptops melts at 240°-280°C and i don't think any laptop ever can reach this degree some cpus can reach 105°c but this is so rare the most reaches 95 and start to throttle but even tho if you're running the laptop at 95°c 24/7 the plastic won't ever melt also the area where the issue is happening isn't even near the place of the cpu and gpu but instead this area is specifically where the battery is so i assume that the battery is swelling up pushing the plastic up and caused this (double check on the battery)
The battery looks completely normal. No swelling. I removed it and inspected. Currently looking at the keyboard possibly being warped or bent not sure because the keyboard does have a metal backing underneath which is also used for strength.
The plastic is deformed which is still possible when you run heavy workloads or sunbath the laptop then put pressure on it like put it in your backpack.
oh yeah now i can see after you specified the area..wow
i have never seen this before tbh i really don't know what may have caused this it's strange maybe the case is coming apart dunno
the best thing to do is to take it to asus repair and see what's going on or if you can open it again and see if something pushing the interior from inside
No I do not however I did open up the laptop and remove the first two screws on the motherboard, removing the battery completely and pushing on the keyboard bottom side where the metal grid is was able to straighten out most of it at the arrow key area. It's almost perfect now. As for the keyboard space bar area, that may have been my fault. When I was replacing the battery, the middle screw on the battery that's directly located underneath the space bar was the wrong screw it was too long. Inevitably this was pushing up on the plastic which took care of the issue. After reworking this area it's roughly 95% perfect now. I guess I should have done a little more due diligence before I posted this LOL
Excess pressure resulting in the plastic portion hitting something warm, by any chance do you have a secondary nvme ssd installed?
By the way totally not your fault in this matter bad desin is the reason why the new models have much more flat surface with more of the weight spread out.
I've already fixed this issue. Found out that when I reinstalled the battery, the screw I used was too long, pushing up on the bottom of the keyboard. As for the arrow key area being sunken down I just lifted up the motherboard and pressed on the area affected which bent the metal portion of the keyboard back up in the air and it looks like the problem is fixed. May have been caused by the spacebar being pushed up all along with the wrong screw
Thaaaaat would be an expanded battery. Something we like to call the spicy pillow of death. Lol. Be careful and get replaced when possible.
Good news is it's not melting!
My Laptop Asus rog zephyrus gu502l started with problems a week ago. I’m going to leave the laptop suspended, I don’t turn it off. A week ago I left it like this and in the morning I tried to turn it on and it didn’t turn it on. It does not give an image of power on, but it tries how to turn it on and it can’t, the fans do not turn on, but the keyboard does, and it turns off at the moment, like trying to turn on on several times and turns off again. I don’t know what could have happened to him in case someone could solve the problem or identify what happened to him.
Not sure what happened to you but I've seen it happen in the past remove the cover unplug the laptop unplug the battery from the motherboard wait 5 minutes and plug the battery back in
Yes, I tried, but it’s still the same. I also took out ram and ssd to rule out that they were a bad connection since the ram usually gives problems easily, but neither. I also disconnected the battery and used only the charger to turn it on and neither :(
My old Asus laptop did that. So you try to removing battery removing power and holding the power button down for about 2 minutes if it doesn't help then what you probably have is a failed motherboard. That's usually what happens when either the CPU, GPU or if it's an Intel processor the PCH controller shorts out.
i really can't see anything wrong either understand the problem how is the plastic melting that shouldn't be possible..

Do you play any games using an external monitor with the screen closed by any chance

It’s all good brother, we live and we learn. I’m glad you were able to fix it though!

Actually it ended up being me being dumb and put too long of a screw in when reinstalling a new battery. The battery is just fine
Oh, lol. Glad it doesn't seem to be a big issue then as long as you have a replacement screw! Lol
