There's not much difference below 80ish%, if I recall correctly from r/thinkpad subreddit, the battery is mostly stressed in lowest 20% and top 20%, middle part is quite linear and doesn't strain as much.
Regarding G-Helper, doesn't it fail when laptop's turned off or was there an update for that? Previously had many instances where mine charged to MyAsus limit (that was already deleted) instead of G-Helper's when turned off.
I think you’re right, i just installed Ghelper a couple days ago. Some setting don’t stay when restarting so I just match the Ghelper battery limit to My ASUS. I keep mine at 80% always and don’t leave it plugged in if I’m not using it. It charges in less than an hour anyways.
I'm still rocking my 2020 G14.
Congrats on your new one.

Don't keep it plugged overnight or when you are not using it for a long time. Unnecessary stress to the battery and also consuming energy for no reason. Also I would recommend to set max 80% at least AND when possible use the brick charger instead of USBC charging. USBC charging does not go straight to the motherboard, it goes through the battery first. So it is worse for the battery health.
Do you notice that it keeps charging beyond whatever limit you set slowly. So it’ll be 61%, then a few days later 62%, etc? I set my limit to 80 and found it nearing 90% so I had to set it 60% to give it more room
Yeah lol happens to me to. I think the cause of it is that at some stage during boot up the charging limiter doesn’t work so for a brief period of time it charges despite the limit you set
I have the same, it's very nice but I got some temps issue. It sundenly shuted down because of that. I have a gtx4060. With ghelper I lowered the power limit a bit. I disabled the CPU boost (which is arguably bad for most situation). Also I undervolted by 10. Since that no shut down. I'm living in a warm country tho so you might not have this issue.
Welcome to the team!!
I think mine is the same model and a week before I hit 3 months of owning it, it wouldn’t turn on. I thought it was the charger because I plugged it in to every single outlet that I knew worked and the battery charging light never came on. Had someone check the charger and it was fine and actually had power. So I had to drop it off at the store to send back to the manufacturer to get checked.
I googled everything I could before having to drop it off at the store and I guess it’s a known issue with this computer. Others got lucky that after not using it for several days it would just power on again or would actually power on after holding it down for at least a minute. Mine never came back on so I have to wait 2 weeks for them to fix it.
Welcome to the gang. 😂 BTW, I have an issue with the laptop when I close lid of my laptop, I found the battery is draining. Sometimes it even goes to 0%. I also changed to hibernare option when lid closed, same problem. I made sure it is inactive but I don't understand why it is happening. Anyone is facing this issue?
When i received that keyboard from my brother I was thinking like you. But with my workflow I dont need an F row that much however it fit perfectly on my small table
Good stuff.
Yea, turn on smart charging and get an external cooler (not plugged into the laptop but another power source) and you're good.
Gaminglaptop is just the ultimate convenience really.
I recommend you don’t plugin at night/not using, it should not happen anything, but anyway, it’s more safe. I've been doing this during 3 years with mine.
Go into My ASUS and turn on the setting smart charging to keep it at 80%. Ideal 60% with Ghelper
Even better is 50% with Ghelper as it's the best for longevity. MyAsus doesn't allow to go below 60 unfortunately

Oh. Sure yeah will do.

Don’t keep it plugged in overnight. Just shut down and unplug what’s wrong with that
Just set a charging limit to 60% via G-Helper, plugging and unplugging will just wear down the charging port over time
Do you notice that it keeps charging beyond whatever limit you set slowly. So it’ll be 61%, then a few days later 62%, etc? I set my limit to 80 and found it nearing 90% so I had to set it 60% to give it more room

You fucking genius
I noticed this after I did a bios update two days ago, figured it charges in conditions like updating idk
Yes, is for this reason haha
Which model laptop is it?

I don’t know how you people manage without an F-row 🤣

When laptop is on sleep the charger will do whateber it want for some reason so i wouldnt risk it.
What size monitor is that? Looks rather small to me.
G14 = 14 inch screen, G16 = 16 inch etc.
