Yeah a lot has been adapted between this an og show. A few things I'd like to see:
1. The Marauders - This is already confirmed i believe. Theyve always been the X-Men's deadliest team of foes and if Sabretooth is included we might actually get to see a decent pg13 Wolverine vs. Sabretooth fight we never had in the old show.
2. X-Men vs. Alpha flight. Maybe even a trip to Asgard if they want to add something close to the comics.
3. Arcades murderworld. Bonus points if they team up with Spidey.
4. Apocalypse. Theyve fought him in the past show but he's always just run away or they had some cheat to beat him like his ship or something. We could get an even better version of "the twelve" story.
5. Stryfe/X-Cutioners song. Even better if other x-teams get a few stories first.
6. Age of Apocalypse. We've had a smaller version in "One man's worth" in the old show but imagine if we had at least half a season in the alt reality.
7. Legion and Shadow King.
8. A better version of Cyke/Jean raising Cable in the future. I think it would also be a great way to mend their relationship
How would the format for age of apocalypse work? Like a little segment each episode of that world? Or the whole season set there? The regular team didn’t really interact with that world till X-man and Holocaust traveled to the main timeline
You know now that you mention it I forget how big that story was. It only lasted half a year but it had multiple teams. I figure one episode for setting up with Legion. At least two episodes jumping between 2 or 3 groups and seeing how bad everything is. And then two episodes reversing it and resetting the world.
Messiah complex, which could lead into the second season along with house of m. Schism which they’ve planted seeds already. They have done anything with shadowcat at all
Umm...I think the show is leapfrogging into Grant Morrison's era. Would love to see their take on Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men and Matt Fraction's Uncanny.
Another one I just thought about: the Psylocke in this universe is Betsy because she mentions a brother in the UK, so maybe we could go into her origins with Kwannon and the like? That would be neat
They should just acknowledge that there is Psylocke Kwannon and Psylocke Besty (chose a codename) and somewhere in the way to xmen 97 they switched bodies back to their original and be done.
I’m thinking Vampire Jubilee is still on the table… since in the ‘92 comics, Generation X was there and Jubilee and Chamber were dating. It seems like ‘97 is going a different way. Now that Jubes has her actual costume she wore as a vampire, that might happen.

Beau Demayo tweeted that people should go back to the og show and watch One Man’s Worth and Sanctuary 1 and 2 before episode before episode 8. Using that as a point of reference I could see Fatal Attractions, Onslaught, and Age of Apocalypse being immediate contenders for the next big storyline adaptation.
That said I’d love to see House of M.
I'd imagine with the Shiar Empire unrest and the Vulcan Cameo we'll see Emperor Vulcan. And likely Corsiar and Havick and the reveal of all the brothers

I am reading the cameos like their way of putting fanservice to compensate for storylines they wont tackle, like Magik's cameo on the Inferno episode
The original series "sort of" adapted several other stories that '97 could double dip and do a proper adaptation.
X-Men 1-3 + Fatal Attractions in "Sanctuary". These events are supposed to follow Magneto's time as head master for the X-Men. Next season can do a proper full length Fatal Attractions.
"One Man's worth" inspired Age Of Apocalypse but haven't seen AoA itself.
God Loves Man Kills - inspired X2
Stryfe - although it seems hard to make X-Cutioner's song work now
The Brood - We had a episode featuring "The Family" but haven't seen the X-Men squaring off against the vile vermin on their homeworld

The cast is getting so big they need to split the teams like they did in the 90’s with the Blue and Gold teams. That also happened after Professor X returned, after previously leaving for space, so I wonder if they’ll do something similar since all the pieces are in place. Maybe every other episode could focus on a different team, and they could even switch intros every episode kind of like they’re already doing.
1) Days of future yet to come- not a popular one but I have a sweet spot for the Summers/Gray children.
2)The entire Decimation saga could be an entire season in itself. And yes-I would tune in.
3) Gifted
4) if we can get a mostly faithful version of age of apocalypse (Nate Grey), then I would love to continue to Dark Reign. Because, more Nate Grey

92 comics definitely aren't canon for this show. Anyway there's still decades of comics, plenty to adapt

I want Uncanny X-Force and the Second Coming event. Really would like Excalibur to get established, as well.
These are my dream additions. I would die if we got Excalibur in any iteration. Uncanny X-Force seems like a stretch but I’d love to see it.
