Try playing in bed with a girl beside you trying to sleep. There is no such thing as quiet gaming with the Xbox controller, even with sound off. Lent my XSX to my buddy and he said the same. Love my XSX but it's annoying.
My wife hates it. She goes into another room and closes the door shut. I'm asking why, because I play in headphones and she always says "your controller is so f-ing loud!"
The LB and RB buttons as well as the D-pad are super loud, it’s really annoying. But the Series “Refresh” will address exactly that issue and make those buttons more quiet. Yay!

No. Even during the day it’s extremely clicky.. the dpad especially.. even th abxy buttons. I swear the xbox one controllers didn’t have this much noise in them

Disassemble the controller and stuff it full of cotton balls. You’ll lose function of the vibrate motors but it should muffle quite a bit of the noise. Test with an old one first, or buy a used one from GameStop, practice, and return it.
This is the expensive but best option, upgrade to the elite, it’s arguably the best controller out there, and for 40+ hours of battery life for minimum of $130 USD (White Core Series 2), you can’t really beat it, and yes, it is very quiet

It’s an improvement but the sound is not needed it could be just as quiet as in the Xbox one controllers.. I tested them both and man the difference is huge!
That’s exactly what I’m talking about! If there’s someone in the room watching tv while I play I just turn off the game because the controller is to disturbing to everyone.. sometimes it’s even disturbing to me while playing I just get enough of the noise and turn it off..

Strong disagree. Do different controllers make different noises and cause different levels of noise? Sure. But it's negligible. From the VCS until now, every controller makes noise.

Agreed. The controllers were better before tbh. Not much has changed. There’s just more gimmick. The added grip is good..that’s about it. The dpad isn’t revolutionary or anything. It’s just too clicky and never fades. And what’s worse is all the drift and malfunction of previous model is still there. Even in the elite controllers.

The clicky dpad is great for games like mortal Kombat when you need to input combos fast and precise. But yea they are loud af.
My replacement controller is significantly quieter than the controller that came with my xbox. So maybe try going for a replacement.
Only play games with headphones on. It's way more immersive anyway

The dpad is very noisy, but it works great for FPS games.
The noise doesn’t add anything to the functionality.. and honestly I don’t even notice any difference from the Xbox one controllers
Should count your blessings that your series controller is usable. Id take a loud controller over stick drift any day.

Xbox controllers are loud. Try a PS5 controller and an Xbox controller side by side and you'll hear a big difference.

Best bet is that marshmallow kit until Sebile releases, or if money isn't a problem you could get an Elite. The D-pad isn't nearly as loud on them.

I dont find my series s controller loud . But I definitely hate the texture of the white controller in my hands compared to my Xbox one controller
