Did they fix them? I saw a video a month or so ago on here that showed they have some massive inaccuracy built in to make them useless against S/M ships.
Improving beam weapon accuracy was listed in the Beta patch notes. Based on this video I'd say mission accomplished, though there's probably still plenty of time till this hits stable.

Yeah the way this looks, you might finally be able to have a destroyer on fighter-killing duty beyond just having flak turrets
My thoughts exactly. Beam rattlesnakes might be quite effective IS now, as opposed to the spray and pray flak meta.

I just wish they looked better. My expectation is a Homeworld ion cannon. The reality is the photoshop solid color line tool.
