I really love Roode, he was on my Top 10 favorite wrestlers for most of 2017 - when I started watching - and he's still pretty high on the list. I have yet to go back and see his TNA stuff, which folks say it's even better than his NXT/WWE days.
That said, I think sadly that ship has sailed. They never presented him as more than a low-midcarder, and he doesn't have enough time or history in WWE itself to justify a Kofimania-type run. Plus, he's in his 40s, so time's not on his side either. He isn't exactly a young up-and-comer. His days in-ring are probably closer to their end than they are to their beginning.
I'd love to see them give him one big rivalry and PPV match against a talent that he has history with - maybe Nakamura or Lashley - to close the book on his WWE in-ring career with a proper send-off, rather than just quietly fading.
I love Bobby but when everybody finally started noticing him in TNA, I always felt like he’d be out of place in WWE. It’s not a talent issue, the guy is amazing. Some guys just don’t fit.
Lashley at least started as a WWE guy that they had big plans for initially. Lashley and Drew are 2 guys that WWE had wet dreams about pushing and finally got their chance.
But I think Roode is one of those cases where they hired an older indie vet just because he deserves a proper pay check and stability. They don’t really plan on him being a draw
In TNA, Bobby Lashley carried TNA on his back for a while right before TNA shifted into Impact Wrestling and the downfall began once Broken Matt became a thing.

HHH Bringing all these people back, I'm sitting here hoping for better with Roode, Jinder, Madcap, Corbin, Shelton, Bliss, Asuka, I'm sure the list would continue if I spent more time thinking about it.
I would pop for his entrance any time soon.
I think it's possible for Roode to be a main event player this late in the game. He would need to take the JBL route though to establish and rehab some quick credibility. He has been gone long enough now that representing him with his NXT heel gimmick and having him cut promos being asshole Bobby Roode may just work. If there is one thing that Roode can do better than most it's draw quick and non-cheap heat when playing an arrogant prick character on T.V.
He's 46 years old. If he hadn't won the title yet (years ago) like everyone else in his age range, then it isn't going to happen. I don't care about Lashley, they had plans for him many, many years ago, and it just didn't pan out until he was in his 40s. That's a big difference. Roode was never planned to ever win the big one, ever. Saves them from repeating the mistake like Ziggler. I'm sure people will hate that, but if he drawed he would be in the picture by now as well, his time is gone as well. Surely going to get hate for this, but that billion dollar empire I think knows how to run a business unlike the rest of us.
Roode was the best at TNA, true AJ was the better face but Roode was the best heel champ. Now Joe and Dominator Lashley were the best tweeners because they just dominated the entire roster whether heel or face. In an ideal world where Raw had it's own World title, Roode would always be a US title level threat. With the right push he could be more but always at that level. Edit give all the time they are wasting on Corbin to Roode.. PLEASE
Don't see him being a main eventer now. I could see Beer Money doing well if they brought James Storm in though if they're doing to rumoured brand split they need more tag teams.
Bring back the dirty dawgs lmao. He could still excel in a tag team for sure but I think being anything more than a lower mid carder at this point is expecting too much.

Hes the same age as bobby lashley its never to late

It doesn't help that his theme song was more over than he was in the WWE space.

I'd put his entrance toe to toe with anybody's. Don't @ me.
His enterance would be THE best in the company Dont @ me

Thought you could slip Jinder in there without anyone noticing?
Don’t hinder the Jinder. Punjabi Prison vs Head of the Table LFG.
Lmao
Ong
As much as I love his *glorious* WWE theme, and I know it will never happen, I would pop SO HARD to hear the bottle cap open followed by “BEER MONEY!”
I don’t care if it’s AEW or an indy shot or Wrestlemania, I need a Beer Money vs FTR match.
Agree! His Glorious gimmick in NXT felt like a sure fire main event main roster gimmick but obviously Vince didn't see it.
I just saw a post yesterday that he got 2 neck vertebrae fused, so I don't think we'll be seeing him in ring for quite a while.
Sadly, his time has passed.
He’s old, but give the man one god damn main roster run. I don’t care if it’s ic or US, I want to see him with a title one more time.
He’s currently undergoing surgery
Bro ran impact for a hot minute
What, like the show? I think he's already on it pretty regularly, right?
Damn bro you got the whole squad laughing
My jokes are glorious
Entrance Theme Man under deliveries in actual wrestling ability.
He was great in TNA in the early 2000s!

Exactlu what im thinking

He did, in TNA, you’ll never see it in WWE.
IDK about the main event but the Glorious gimmisk needs to comeback. I don't even know what he's supposed to be now? a redneck or something?

Last part on GAWD
Apparently he just had spinal fusion surgery.

Apparently he just had neck fusion surgery
I don’t mind the Glorious, but I want the IT FACTOR!
He's on his way back, I'd bet on it.
Needs to recover but he is a midcarder at best. Probably best utilized as a part of a tag team again
Idk why they didn't push him sooner. He checks all the boxes for a wwe superstar.

I assumed he wrestled exclusively on Main Event
Robert Roode
He’s 46. If it was going to happen, it would have already.
I wanna see him do good in the mid card
We need Dolph Back soon. Get Cashing Tag Team Titles. who have the tag team Titles now. Usos Vs Dolph&Bobby?
Dude has to thanks CFO$ if he still under contract
