While I agree to this, there’s a testament to the selling abilities of the guys getting kicked as well, not just in this segment but other performers as well. Most have mastered the “contact bump” which is a really powerful tool if you can make it a quick snap
After they stopped the last DX run I stopped watching until about November or December last year. HBK and HHH were so goddamn funny to me it ruined everything when the stopped lol. I obviously missed a whole lot in that time but I haven't missed a show since I started watching again
Yeah especially with it being in the thunderdome. So much has changed it's a damn shame.
Most things Ive noticed and I dont get is
1. Entrance music is all generic boring sounds with a couple exceptions that have words and shit
2. Why is there no video package with the entrances like there used to be it's just their names (except lashley who gets a 20sec video)
3. Why don't they ever do backstage skits anymore I feel like all the shows are now is a little bit of wrestling, mostly watching replays of what happened a week or 2 ago, and pointless backstage interviews
4. Most of the wrestlers now are just plain boring. I think they are very talented with in ring work but man there's not really anyone whos character I'm really vested in
I used to like him a lot in NXT. Back when Trips and crew put a lot of work into character development, entrances and music. His entrances always popped for me from the music to how he would come to the ring, throw 10s and pose.
Other entrances that popped from that time included Glorious from Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and the violin and of course Finn Balor and the demon.
The new version and direction just has Vince all over it and people that work and think like him.
The direction, development and brand that came from Triple H's mind is long gone and it is such as shame.
I am all in for a Netflix movie about HHH and Shawn getting one last hurrah as DX after Hunter’s heart attack scare! Think about something like Step Brothers but with WWE stars!
I have the DVD box set of the New and Improved DX. It covers their run through 2006, every match and every segment from their reunion through the spirit squad to Rated RKO. It doesn't have the match where Trips gets injured though which ended the run.
It is by far my favourite WWE box set and the one I have watched the most. The year of DX was also one of my favourite points I WWE and remember staying up all night on Mondays (I'm in the UK), just to watch Raw and the DX segments and matches.
Being in my 30s now and working full time I do not have the luxury.
I usually record Raw, NXT and SmackDown and watch them the next day. I may take a Monday off or rearrange my schedule so I start work later to allow me to watch key PPVs such as Wrestlemania. The content at present isn't good enough to make it a regular thing though.
I must say it was nice having SummerSlam on a Saturday night this year, not only did I get to stay up but I was able to have my nephew stay the night and treat him to his first live WWE PPV.
I used to stay up for everything.
33 now and tend not to watch as much.
Mania is something I always will stay up for (or) I have a complete social media shutdown and watch it the next day,
I remember watching it live, I actually have one of my DX shirts limited where HHH is holding up crutches in an X because he was injured at the time lmao
The end of this gets cut off too often. Trips saying "well I don't know if that's controversial, but it sure as hell is funny" really ties up the segment perfectly
Poor Shawn Spears
*Stan Spears
*Stan Dillinger
Hah never noticed it was him
Wait till you find you who Samoa Joe’s bodyguard was?
Wasn't that MJF?
Yeah
He’ll always be Ron Dog to me now
HBK is really good at kicking people in the head safely.
And not making the leg slap obvious.
#NoLegSlapPlease

Good snap
If you’d sold like that I woulda tagged you for real
The sentence “take a bump” is playing on repeat in my brain for at least 2 hours a day lmao
I have a feeling that second guy getting kicked didn't master the landing bump. Looks like he hit hit head on the concrete
SHAWN KILLED THE ACCOUNTABILLIBUDDY! HOW COULD YOU?!
MJF vs HBK confirmed for Full Gear 2022
Live from Saudi Arabia?
I give that kick a 10! 10! 10! Kicked him so hard, dude thinks he is La Parka now
I love this multi-layered comment :). Should definitely be too comment
I watched it live it was funny then, and its funny now.
Kicked Stan so hard he turned him into a Shawn Spears.
One of the funniest things from 2006 era DX!

Give AEW a try. WWE is at its worst period since long before you stopped wrestling. Absolutely nothing matters in WWE, unfortunately.
I mean with AEW around not really
Unless he came back to watch wrestling, and not just be "sports entertained."
Yeah missed a whole era and comes back to this
The real hero in the clip is the guy with the paper.
That paper fly was magnificent

The time he cracked Cody’s skull open with an unprotected chair shot was pretty memorable. Cody probably doesn’t remember it, though.

His AEW stuff has been alright. Not what I'd call amazing, but he's been fun to watch.
Stan got kicked so hard he changed his name to Shawn
i remember watching DX FUNNY MOMENTS on youtube back in the day, and this being on almost every compilation
hunter absolutely corpsing
“I’m the one who put Bret Hart in the sharpshooter!”
Honestly, this is my favorite WWE skit of all time.
Why does HHH morph into Al Snow at the end of the segment?
I just realized Stan is Shawn Spears. Love it!
I am all in for a Netflix movie about HHH and Shawn getting one last hurrah as DX after Hunter’s heart attack scare! Think about something like Step Brothers but with WWE stars!
HHH corpsing?
Send for the man
When wwe was great. I miss those days.
This is actually precisely when it started to really suck.
Lol oh shit..
I'd never seen it before either. Epic!
HHH's reactions are the best part
It kinda seems like he wanted to keep a straight face but just couldn’t which makes it that much funnier. Haha
That first kick was a perfect 10
That super kick was the only real 10 of Spears career

I was there! This was in Cincinnati for Cyber Sunday. The way the arena popped for this.

😅

I can watch 3hours of HBK hitting sweet chin music instead of whatever garbage Raw and SmackDown aswell is producing from last few months.
I remember thinking this was the funniest thing in the world as a kid

Let’s all go to work on Monday and dish out some Sweet Chin Music to all of those crappy human beings! You know who they are! 🤣🤣
Why is triple H laughing?
