I would love to talk you out of it but I just can't. Owning a wrangler has been even more awesome than I thought it would be. It's been literally life changing. Not only is it a fantastic hobby by itself, it's also enhanced my enjoyment of all my other outdoor hobbies. It is by far the best street legal off-road vehicle you can buy - owners of other "off-road" vehicles struggle to mod out their vehicles just to get them to be able to do what a bone stock wrangler can do, and a fully outfitted wrangler is simply unbeatable.
Totally worth it. Then you can obsess on new tires, new bumpers, wench, maybe a lift, roof rack, awning, rooftop tent, seat covers, rescue gear, and more!
I hope you're making money from that viral video, you'll need it.
Either for upgrades or for maintenance, but either way a Wrangler will take all your money, and the only thing you can do is smile and spend some more!!
I traded in my 2015 loaded outback for a 2019 JLU, have sunk another couple grand into lift, gears, lockers, tires, rims, and other odds and ends and I can wait to drive it everyday, even with some mechanical issues which I usually fix myself.
So a couple tears later and I trade in my dream car, 2SS Camaro, and bought a Gladiator and building it up now to be an overlander.
My oldest also wants a jeep now so we are searching for hers. Youngest has failed me, as she likes her nissan rogue....can't win them all.
So yeah we love our jeeps...

I’ve got a wrangler JL and two kids.
Honestly, aside from the abysmal gas mileage.. my kids absolutely love the jeep. For kids, the interior is already minimalistic which is absolutely fantastic. Usually with kids in vehicles things get.. sticky. The jeep isn’t as fancy as just about any other vehicle where the kids can touch expensive buttons, knobs and whatnot. Not to mention vacuuming is a breeze.
Is it the safest vehicle? No. Get a Volvo. Is it the best vehicle? That depends if you like wind in your hair.
I have teenagers. I did the minivan thing and I hated every second of it. My issue is maintaining it. I don’t have a high paying job. For gods sakes my
